Glenn Hauser logs October 12-13, 2021  View Printable Version
Wednesday, October 13 2021

Hauser
** CUBA. 11880, Oct 12 at 2302, NO signal from RHC English; also off
in Spanish: 11850 and its 11840/11860 parasites: something`s always
wrong at RHC. But on are: 11760 with humbuzz, 11670; and 11980 JBA
probably 2 x 5990 CRI English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5990, Oct 13 at 0142, RHC English with thin-voiced YL, wrong
frequency instead of 6000; and also JBA on 2X = 11980; // 6165 on
right frequency instead of 6145. Thus of the two NAm English channels
at 00-05, you never know which two of four frequencies will be in use.
Something`s something`s always always wrong wrong at at RHC RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11850, Oct 13 at 0143, RHC Spanish is S9/+10 but suptorted,
rather than completely off 2 hours and 41 minutes earlier. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [non]. 11860, Wed Oct 12 on caradio, nothing but choral music
on R. Martí, various chex during the 17-18 UT hour, no jamming heard.
unseems sacred, but program sked shows for this date and time:
https://www.radiotelevisionmarti.com/radio/schedule/4
easily reached via Alan Roe`s WORLD OF RADIO Hitlist:
``13:00 - 14:00 [EDT] La Santa Misa
PROGRAMACIÓN EN-VIVO DESDE LA ERMITA DE LA CARIDAD``, i.e. the Shrine
of Our Lady of Charity, in, where else, Miami, thus violating
Separation of Church and State. Tripadvisor explains: ``es un templo
católico de la Arquidiócesis de Miami dedicado a Nuestra Señora de la
Caridad, Patrona de Cuba, ubicado en Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, Oct 12 at 1505, JBA carrier direct, 1508 late
tune-in via UTwente SDR to another weekly Kashmir Citivas, from IRRS,
worse than usual, not solid, only S9-S6 --- and it`s completely in
English! about legacy of British colonialism, atop usual strumming. I
notify the WOR iog but it`s too late, 1511 switch back to Urdu talk.
No Western music fill this week, chopped off at 1529* but not before
we hear the last two notes of the RRI IS, pause, and then the first
note, before gone; tantalizing those who guessed this via Bulgaria?
Instead of ROMANIA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MARTINIQUE. 18133.4-USB correct FM4LV frequency in last report, not
typo 18134.4 (Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Oct 12 at 2301 and 11940 at 2312, zero signals from
the two REE frequencies scheduled to run past 2305 weekdays: maybe the
geomag storm have delayedly hit, outwiping such prop. At 2100, K-index
was 3 with moderate space weather = G2-level storms preceding and
predicting. By 2400, same except no more predicted (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2107 monitoring; next:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [? not Oct 6]
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support;
thanks this week to Kelly Bogues, Colorado for a contribution via
PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com
a.k.a.. Rabishu, he says, ``Thanks Glenn for all the many many years
of WOR. I have been hearing you for decades. You're a shortwave
inspiration and I will always remain inspired by you.``

One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, Oct 12 at 0252, WBCQ World`s Last Chance is on again,
VG S9+20/30, Canadian-accented interviewer with someone about
Antarctica; anti-Rothschild, anti-elite. Wondering if some other
far-right political show? Not your usual pontificating. Oh2: Then
country song so wacko it could be taken as a parody on any other
station, like: there was never a man on the moon, it was made-for-tv;
stars and moon are not that far away, all we have is under a dome;
there are no satellites, no matter how upwards dishes are aimed, they
are really picking up terrestrial signals, from this Flat Earth;
partly paraphrased.

9330 is now much stronger than its nearest neighbor SW station, 9265
WINB; but way above other WBCQs: 7490v JBA, 6160v TOMBS. 0259 a few
notes of the menacing WLCR theme before cutoff the air. If I happened
to tune in now, I would have concluded it`s still AWOL. Cut back on
the air at *0300.7 with legal ID by AW, and then YL WLC ID also as on
WBCQ, more English. Presumably had to break for antenna rotation, but
no difference here before/after signal levels. HFCC shows at 0300 it
goes from 245 to 270 degrees, but also changes antenna designator from
805 to 216, huh? Both as only 250 kW. Surely it`s the exact same
Ampegon rotatable, but HFCC references:
805 LPH18/36.5/32.2/16.7/1.4/13.2/200
216 AHR(S)4/4/0.5
Maybe someone can explain that? From log periodic to rhombic? HFCC
provides no key or explanation to its lengthy antenna reference table
included in the zips with schedules (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, Oct 12 at 2256, WRMI with rock is S9+20/30, despite
alleged SSE angle, strong enough to audiblize plus/minus 5 kHz
parasitic spurs --- but none detected now: problem fixed, or
intermittent; or differing transmitter units and/or antennas subject
to those? The messy modulation from TOMBS elsewhen could also be
responsible, not from that now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Oct 12 at 0324, VP signal in presumed Hindi from
presumed WRNO as nothing else is scheduled in A-21; usually much
stronger when on, but at that awkward 1-megameter distance; and was
missing last night just after 0100. It`s hard to believe this
transpolar signal accomplish any significant service to India at
8:45-9:30 am IST (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6932?-USB?, Oct 12 at 2259, pirate music I can`t get to
resolve in LSB or USB, stepping up and down 1 kHz; and then gone.
Maybe the problem be the unrecognizable music. Not very, but the
closest log to this in HFU is unID on 6933 earlier:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87648.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15833-USB, Oct 12 at 2303, 2-way in Spanish discussing
putas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 0323 UT October 13

Hauser
** CUBA. 13637 & 13763 approx., Oct 11 at 1414, FMish weak S3
spurblobs from S9+10 RHC 13700-AM, plus/minus ~63 kHz. With signature
F# above Cmiddle tones. Welcome back! Despite almost daily morningly
bandscans, nonesuch noted for months. Last time a search hits on
``spurblob 13700`` was my report of July 19 & 16. I knew they could do
it! Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15230, Oct 11 at 2218, S8-S9 of dead air from RHC, where
something`s always wrong; while 15370 in Spanish is S9+10/20 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MARTINIQUE. 18134.4-USB, Oct 11 at 2214, FM4LV keeps repeating ID
only with different fonetix, as if in some contest; see UNIDENTIFIED.
So no doubt about it except whether it`s really the caller or the
callee. No replies heard. His qrz.com reveals no details beyond name
and QSL only via a W3 manager, not even Where in MQ: ``FM4LV
Martinique flag Martinique, Gérard LUCE``; but does illustrate his
nice QSL of six ladies in elaborate costumes:
https://cdn-bio.qrz.com/v/fm4lv/FM4LV.jpg
Now no need to jump thru hoops to get one (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PANAMA. 18133.2-USB, Oct 11 at 2204, HP3SS discussing remote
control setups so others from abroad can operate from his QTH in
Panamá; sounds like an American. QRZ.com info: ``HP3SS Panama flag
Panama, Robby Robertson, Volcán, Panamá. I have been living in Panama
since October 2015. I operated as HP3/VY2SS for almost year while I
waited for my Panama call. It doesn't normally take that long. I live
in Volcan, Chiriquí Province. I am at 4550 ft ASL. Temp is always 23C
and I like it here. I enjoy contesting and DX`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SAO TOME E PRINCIPE. 12030.055V, Oct 11 at 0627 French talk, JBA
yet the SSOB. Is low latitude propagation from VOA Pinheira relay,
French 0600-0629 daily. This site often significantly off-frequency,
does not speak well for USAGM engineering. V indicates it`s also
audibly wavering, while a small v would merely indicate varies but
steady at the moment (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Mon Oct 11 at 2200, token English from REE says main
topic will be part 2 about US/Spain relations in Cold War, including
the SAC bombing incident. Geomag disturbance predicted not hit yet as
this holds up well S8-S9, also audible backwards on 15520 but 11940
blocked by wideband FMish splash maybe local (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2107 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
October 10 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia, 918 kHz, S9+8 into nearby
Noale SDR.

Also confirmed Sun Oct 10 at 2230 on WRMIs: 5950, VG S9+20/30 and 9955
S9+20, both into Tennessee SDR.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 11 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 11 after 0130 on WRN N America webcast.

Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 11 from 0301 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160-,
minus 53 Hz = 6159.947, S9+10/15 into Maryland SDR; with ACI from Cuba
back on 6165 ex-6145 last night. Next, not until Wednesday:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [? not Oct 6]
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, Oct 11 at 0622, WBCQ WLCR is gone again, no signal
while these remain VG: 9265 WINB, 9395 & 9455 & 9955 WRMI. 9330 still
gone at 2223 Oct 11 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7489.9v), Oct 11 at 2330 after semi-UBMP repeat, WBCQ
webcast plays national spot commercial for McDonalds` Breakfasts, then
immediately `Camp Constitution Radio` on an anti-vax rant which he
expects will get him banned from You Tube. Does McD corporate know
what it is really sponsoring here? Assuming CCR set this up, the price
for a single spot in terms of domestic radio could well pay for the
entire semihour program`s SW airtime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Oct 11 at 0105, again no signal from WRNO (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 18157-USB, Oct 10 at 2213, pileup after a DX station. US
hams keep blasting their own calls and nothing else time and again
over each other. I withhold IDing them. Once in the mess, I
tentatively hear a weak HC2+ call from Ecuador, maybe the target. This
is fun? Another pileup on 18160-USB. The F2 MUF was way up with lots
of 28 MHz TA contacts NAm/Europe blacklined on DX Map but nothing much
here, not even 10m beacons (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. See MARTINIQUE, PANAMA. Higher in the 18 MHz band,
pileups as there must be some kind of contest, maybe not DX, mostly US
& Canadians repeating their calls over and over, apparently hoping
someone will reply without even saying CQ or QRZ --- that would gobble
up valuable milliseconds. From about 18154 to 18165, October 11 at
2210-2215, stations spaced at fraxion of kHz intervals, making for not
only CCI but lots of adjacent SSB QRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11815, Oct 10 at 0059, S1-S3 with flutter maybe English?
Then song plays right thru hourtop 0101+. Must be R. Brasil Central,
only station known active at this hour; nor was there an off-frequency
tipoff (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 WOOB jammer survey, Oct 10 at 0104-0111: 12880, Chinese
S1-S2 with flutter; 12820, 13020, 13130, JBA carriers on traditional
channels; 13530 & 13920 & 14920, JBA S1 with flutter; 16100 JBA with
CODAR QRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6145, Oct 10 at 0042, RHC English jumps again to here from
6165, still // 6000; clearing 6160- for Area 51. Something`s
fortunately wrong at RHC. 0625 recheck, still 6145; also in English:
6100, 6060 with humbuzz, and 5040 on late (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA SOUTH [non]. 11880, Oct 10 at 0101, S9/+20 of dead air with
some hum; finally cut on modulation 0102.6 of KBSWR in Spanish about
NK rapprochement. Was this Grimesland`s failure or somewhere
upstreamm? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13840, Oct 10 at 0620, RNZP again tonight on frequency
extended instead of 11725, discussion about divorce and marriage, good
S9. Nothing on 11725 or 7245. That would be the `TED Radio Hour`, from
NPR, Sunday 7:04 pm local:
https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/schedules/20211010
Leave it to NZ to have the good sense to broadcast some US NPR
programs on SW, unlike any of our own stations.

Altho always misleadingly headed as effective from start of season
March 28, instead of latest revision date, the How To Listen sked has
belatedly now been updated to eliminate 11725 in our late-nights:

** OKLAHOMA. `Weekend Radio` comedy show from WCLV Cleveland has a
competition to present funny faux-pas from the press, so we submitted
this from our local paper:
https://www.w4uvh.net/EnidEagle_cannibals_notated.jpg

It won the prize of CD already received, Bridge 9470, ``Berl Senofsky
in Concert at EXPO `58 Brussels``, violin and piano music by Ravel,
Bartók, Rachmaninoff, Ysaÿe, Creston, Wieniawski, Bach, Brahms2.

Here`s a lo-fi capture of that segment on the UT Oct 10 show at 0326:
https://www.w4uvh.net/WeekendRadio_prize.mp3

Furthermore, as we later notified Sagebrush Bob, the Eagle ed/pub
later wrote a whole column about this:
https://www.enidnews.com/opinion/column-we-hate-bloopers-but-sometimes-they-can-be-pretty-funny/article_d20e87c0-220d-11ec-ab09-3fd231bad106.html
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2107 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
October 9 at new 2330 on WRMI 5950, VG S9+30 into TN SDR.

Also confirmed on NEXUS-IBA webcast-only at 2334 about 3 or 4 minutes
behind WRMI, so they must still be sticking in some FS News first,
probably causing a few minutes of WOR to be chopped at the end.

Also confirmed UT Sunday October 10 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+30
direct but not enough to eliminate S7/S9 storm noise level from South
Dakota/Minnesota and Bahamas/Cuba.

Not confirmed UT Sunday Oct 10 circa 0315 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM: still
completely off the air as it was at 1930.

Zzz past 1300 Sun Oct 10; did anyone hear the new 1230 on WMRI Europe
via Channel 292, Germany, 9670? And how was the QRM from Vietnamese
clandestine via Taiwan, and jamming? [BTW, even I slipped and called
it ``WRMI`` on WOR 2107]. Next:

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918-Italy
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7730 to WNW; 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW

** U S A. 7489.9v, UT Sun Oct 10 at 0616, WBCQ on very late again with
some classic rock, S8-S9, a regular weekly thing? Last time caught at
same hour was Oct 4, UT Mon not Sun. Either appears on WBCQ program
sked? Of course not! Supposedly off at 0330* Sun & Mon and every night
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Oct 10 at 0015, WTWW-2 with `TOUTA` already;
direct as I`m not near a $ tereo webcast. 0031 after playing one of his
own compositions, Bob Heil mentions that from now on it`s an hour
long, and next week`s will be the ``best ever`` special with his
mentor George Wright. It ends at 0055, into Tedad. Bob never dares
specify an exact time for the show, but if it were an hour this week,
must have started about 2354 Saturday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4875-USB, Oct 10 at 0046, MARS net designator 4IX7, and
some Airforce-type calls like AFZ4W#. No sign of R. Roraima, Boa
Vista, 4875 supposedly on till 0300, nor anytime lately (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6925-LSB, Oct 10 at 0039, 2-way in Brazilian, while I am
not hearing any N American pirates on the Saturday night band (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7620, Oct 100 at 0618, surprise mixture of talk show
about Medicare, and weaker audio sounds like Brother Scare; shortly
cuts off by itself. Smax of mixing product between SW and local MW,
but can`t figure out how nor ever heard before here (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 18241.4-USB approx., Oct 10 at 1416, JBA 2-way not
English, maybe Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ALASKA. 9760 & 9800, Oct 9 at 1500, KNLS IS on both with equivalent
fair sigs, but two different languages scheduled, Chinese and Russian,
respectively. SOP to run IS first minute of each hour before
programming from :01 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Sat Oct 9 at 1510+, no signal from
LRA36 checked on three different Brazilian SDRs (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 9710, Oct 9 at 1459 big open carrier and off*, must be RHC as
scheduled 1100-1500 & 2100-0500 in Aoki which this time has correct
RHC info while EiBi misses 9710 completely, which has been running
most or all of A-season (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EUROPE. Correxion: starts with RPI of course, not typo RFI; fixed:

6330-CW, Oct 8 at 2013, CW beacon from R. Piraña Internacional;
repeating message starts with RPI but I don`t copy the rest. I wonder
if he spells out Piraña with the special character --.-- for ñ? Well
audible via UTwente with some deep fading. Jorge R. García tells the
WOR iog that it`s 8 watts from northern Europe, active today 1900-0700
UT and also same hours this Saturday into UT Sunday (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13840, Sat Oct 9 at 0559, RNZ/I/P still on here and
keeps going past 0600 timesignal and at final check 0617 music at
S9-S5. So much for my plug of `Saturday Night` request show from 0608,
which has been on VG 11725, supposed to start at 0459 or is it 0559,
as current sked still shows two *other* frequencies after 0559!

``02:59-04:58 13840 Pacific Daily
04:59 - 06:58 11725 Pacific Daily
05:59 - 12:58 7245 Pacific Sat Sun``

Unknown when if ever it switched to 11725; or skipped it completely
for 7245 sometime? Asleep as the switch? Or another too-frequent
skedchange, as summer oncomes, trying to cope with OWF to primary
Pacific targets, not us? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SCOTLAND [non]. 5950, Sat Oct 9 at 2200-2300, `Encore` classical
music via WRMI, VG via remote in southeastern US -- a regular listen I
don`t always log, this first airing to N America, and there will be
two more tonight and Sunday night. Two playlists are available; look
for the current date:
https://www.tumbril.co.uk/playlists
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 365-MCW kHz, Oct 9 at 0615 UT, ND beacon AA, which is 100
watts from Fargo / Harwood, North Dakota; only unusual but not new one
here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Hauser
** CUBA. 6000, Oct 8 at 0233, RHC English S9+20 but suptorted: wiggle
that patchcord! Alleged Cuban scientist denies there is any evidence
for ``Havana Syndrome`` sonic attacks there or elsewhere. // 6165 is
VG but somewhat overmodulated/distorted. Now if only they could
balance them out. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** EUROPE. 6330-CW, Oct 8 at 2013, CW beacon from R. Piraña
Internacional; repeating message starts with RFI but I don`t copy the
rest. I wonder if he spells out Piraña with the special character
--.-- for ñ? Well audible via UTwente with some deep fading. Jorge R.
García tells the WOR iog that it`s 8 watts from northern Europe,
active today 1900-0700 UT and also same hours this Saturday into UT
Sunday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925-USB, Oct 8 at 2259, scales up and down at first
on keyboard, jazzed-up classical tunes, 2302 another, direct. Next
check at 2327 via remote in MO, no signal, but Maryland has some
non-classical music, poor signal. Another report at first as unID:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87438.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6931-USB, Oct 8 at 2329, S7-S9 pirate music, into
Maryland SDR; 2338 brief ID? missed and ballad. Several logs here say
it`s Tall Radio Jethro (Tull):
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87441.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 11670, Fri Oct 8 at 2229, REE wrapping up token English with
Justin Coe voice recognizable but VP unreadable --- and this is the
best, being lowest, as the MUF to deep N America has plunged, despite
being on the worst azimuth south toward Africa; while 11940, 15520 and
supposedly for us 17855 are even worse, JBA to JBA carriers. We
anticipate a B-21 switch to much more propagable 9690 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2107 monitoring: confirmed first
airings UT Friday October 8 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5850 VG, 7780 fair.

Also confirmed Fri Oct 8 at 0330 on WRMI 5985, S7/9+10 into Bonaire.

Also confirmed Fri Oct 8 at 1815 on IRRS via AM Italia, Villa Estense,
918 kHz, S9, as always interrupting some talk show, about NZ? Pause.
Quick IRRS ID, long pause and WOR starts and plays to 1844. As
monitored via Noale SDR

Also confirmed Fri Oct 8 at 1816 on IRRS 7290 via Bulgaria. As usual,
S9+5/10 open carrier runs past 1815, modulation does not cut on WOR
until opening is almost over. Is no one paying attention? Also to
1844. Via UTwente it`s about 3 seconds apart from 918.

Also confirmed Fri Oct 8 at 2030 on 918 after music and extended IRRS
ID, S9, as above.

Also confirmed Fri Oct 8 at 2230 on new WRMI 5950 airing, S8-S9
directly after world music, no ID break. Next:

** U S A. 5850, Fri Oct 8 at 1045 I happen to awaken so confirm that
WRMI is on this air, `Frecuencia al Día` segment in strangely-accented
Spanish. So maybe WOR will be back on Wednesday at this hour (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. 9975, Oct 8 at 0226, JBA carrier from presumed
KVOH which normally blasts into here. Then I check other 31m band
signals and find other USAs are also VP; or JBACs even from WRMI 9955,
9455, 9395; maybe 9330 WBCQ.

But Eurosigs much further away are VG: 9420 Greece S9/+10; 9490
República/France S9/+10 and no jamming audible. Close-in MUF must be
sharp between 8 and 9 MHz; because N Americans below 8 remain VG: 7850
CHU; WRMIs 7780 S9+20; 7730 & 7570 S9+30/40 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat Oct 9 at 0000, WBCQ webcast with `AAAWWW`,
again very overmodulated/distorted. ``Hide the silverware``, hmmm, is
this a rerun? A & A are yelling over each other with usual
anti-American rants. I switch the Maryland SDR to this from the real
pirate band, where sound is a bit less distorted but also with
RHC-like humbuzz. They start talking about spotted dicks, drinking
teguila, on 7490, 6160 and 4790 preferably in meaningless
``kilocycles`` instead of kHz; what`s wrong with Canada? I can`t take
another hour of this broadcasting, distorted in more ways than one. So
here`s John Carver`s version:

``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 and 7490. Allan half
undressed in a hot studio in a warm Fla. Allan and Angela bantering
back and forth about several subjects which sort of morphed into some
blather about "community" and how the definition has changed over the
years and how Covid accelerated the change. A mention of the stolen
election by Angela. Even some talk of worldwide shortages of things
and some China bashing.

Allan announced that the superstation was up and running well but
before he could finish that there was a phone call at 0031 from Mr.
Mike to talk about the upcoming Nearfest next weekend. Allan then
reads an article from Radio World about shortwave tech that I think
he's read before.

Reading of emails at 0055. Closing prayer at 0058. It was mentioned
that they'd had many small problems with the new transmitter since
replacing the big tube and was implied that one of the repairmen was
still at the station tinkering with things. Off the air at 0100. John,
Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic, JBA MW carrier search, Oct 8 at
0606-0612 UT: First noticed het on KMBZ 980: 558, 612, 621, 684, *693,
