See also my separate post, ``Fun & Games at HFCC B-21`` Here`s another
one, INDIA full of inactive or kaput domestic and externals:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=AIR

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, Oct 20 at 1534, LRA36 on again for a
Wednesday broadcast; of four KiwiSDRs in Brasil, best via Campo tho
only S3-S5, less buzzclick QRM than the others, OTH radar? Not local
to any of them. Later abating. 1538 ``sign-on`` routine in middle of
transmission, ``a partir de ---``, for miércoles 11-13 broadcast =
14-16 UT, also on 96.7 FM; history of station from 1979 -- or 1969?
And claiming to be first broadcast station in Anta.; but when did AFAN
start? Never mind the Yanquis. Says initially on 6036 kHz, meaning
6030? Raised power to 10 kW and moved permanently to ``15476 AM`` ---
no, it`s NOT AM, and now it`s NOT 10 kW, admittedly 700? watts. More
usual mix of songs, talkbits and frequent IDs such as 1555; chopped
off at 1607*, a minute before Campo SDR times out for reload, still
off.

Meanwhile, the 2022 crew for LRA36 has been selected, for the first
time all-female. Does this mean, about to close down for the summer
until Feborso? Via Manuel Mendez, WOR iog where it`s Englished:
https://admin.radionacional.com.ar/cuatro-mujeres-estaran-a-cargo-de-lra-36-radio-nacional-en-la-antartida/

This got the FM frequency wrong, ``97.6`` instead of 96.7 as I heard
it and as also in WRTH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5040, Oct 20 at 0140, RHC at S9+10/20 of dead air.
Something`s always wrong at RHC; 5025 & 4765 are nominal.

5040, Oct 20 at 0553, RHC is off already instead of 0600+ in Spanish
last night, clearing for JBA carrier presumably VANUATU (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMREICA. 6930-USB, Oct 20 at 0050, rock music at S9; 0054
unreadable announcement and off. No logs here but unID from 0101:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87964.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA [and non]. 17895.070, Oct 20 at 1412, Qur`an JBA from
always askew SRI/SBA, and about to dub it the OSOB till I detect a JBA
carrier on 17770, which should be TURKEY in Arabic; thus the upperone
rates SSOB status only. No sign of other Sa`udi carriers supposedly on
16m now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 3370.5-USB, Oct 20 at 0128, 6TX1, MARS net designator
fonetikaly, and AFA6DT, the NCS calling some other AF- stations,
without great success; lingo of ``roger`` and ``wilco`` -- the
opposite of ``wonco`` are uttered, then nothing more.

This frequency net last logged UT Fri March 18, 2016y at 0125, with
different calls as in:
https://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1612.txt
The MARS link then no longer worx:
http://www.afmars.net:8080/qilan/MARS/list_RMS_stations
and a broad search now on AFA6DT gets only one significant hit:
https://www.dxfuncluster.com/spots/AFA6DT
log by WS5ADV OKC: ``WS5ADV [Usuario de LOTW] 5332.0 [kHz] AFA6DT 60m
Interop Net Ham-MARS 17:00 01-May-21`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: confirmed
Wednesday October 20 at 1045 check the 1030 on WRMI 5850, VG. Next:

2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support,
which might have been sent via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 5040, Oct 20 at 0553, JBA carrier in early absence of RHC,
suspect RV which appears to be stuck on this frequency only at all
hours instead of 4 others as sequentially registered with HFCC for
B-21. Port Vila sunset less than an hour away at 0649. Sob, if only
they would resumed 11835 as 3 x 3945 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Oct 20 at 0554, S9/+20 open carrier past hourtop
to 0602* --- seems too strong for Maicao Montana missionaries, but no
sign of that signal under it. Maybe testing a power increase? Also too
strong for VOA Botswana or São Tomé, compared to 4960 STP in fadey
dead air at only S9/S6; also far too early for China on 4940 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1646 UT October 20

Fun & Games at HFCC B-21  View Printable Version

Hauser
Looking at projected B-21 skeds from Oct 31 now available from HFCC:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/b21/index.phtml

** ALASKA. KNLS B-21 English, FWIW in HFCC, tho abrupt changes happen:
08-09 6075, 10-11 9680, 12-13 9580 9625, 14-15 6110

** ALGERIA. TDA mixes in real schedules via FRANCE with extensive
imaginary 24h schedules via own sites Ourgla and Bechar, possibly
still under construxion?
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=TDA

** ANGUILLA. Did you know there is a broadcaster called ``Plummer
Applications``? 6090 & 11775 ex-Caribbean Beacon have been gone for
years but DOCTOR Jerry Plummer of WWCR must still think he`s the
frequency manager, on the payroll of PMS:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=PLA

** BRAZIL. This country has been totally AWOL from HFCC, not even RNA,
but B-21 has a place for R. Inconfidência complete with accents!
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=INC
Except there are no entries for this 6010v & 15190v station; a thing
to come?

** INDONESIA. Perhaps the greatest laughingstock is RRI which keeps
registering a huge totally imaginary schedule for external and
domestic transmitters, all in English! Including the only one which
exists, 3325, but for only one hour at 02-03 and as from Playa de
Pals, long-abandoned R. Liberty site in SPAIN, complete with its
coördinates! Really should be Palangkaraya, of course:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=RRI

** MALAYSIA. RTM keeps on the books five long-gone imaginary
frequencies along with two more-or-less active ones:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=RTM

** POLAND. Here`s an interesting new entry, not yet active?
SPW Radio Warsaw - Transatlantic Radio Station Cul [sic].
10 kW ND from Babice, 07-10 on 7430, 07-13 on 7415
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=SPW

** RUSSIA. The once-great R. Russia [sic] is shown with two Moskva and
one Khabarovsk frequency; maybe worth checking for DRM or something?
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=RRS

But also a huge totally imaginary sked for Voice of Russia:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=VOR
Wow, we`re so impressed by this major broadcaster!

** SPAIN. Would you believe that REE is 100% in Spanish?
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=REE
Whew, 9690 is coming back for North America

** THAILAND. HSK9 B-21 sked shows the `traditional` times for English
rather than 30 minutes earlier as recently monitored. Mistake? Which?
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=NBT

** U S A. We see that WBCQ is supposed to be on 5130 for 24 hours,
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=BCQ
even tho it was abandoned months ago in favor of 4790, and AW has said
he`s not going back to 5130. They must have forgot that when
registering; or changed the plan?

** U S A. Would you believe that WHRI is still registered B-21 for an
extensive schedule despite being totally off the air and for sale?
Probably just copied from a previous season, when known as LeSEA:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=HRI

** U S A. Same old frequencies for WRMI Okeechobee, but note the other
site, Issoudun for certain target/clandestines not specified. And
besides 9490 for R. República, an alternate appears, 7225 from France,
which would violate the exclusive 40m hamband in Americas. But not
until 1 March which is not a time change date
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=RMI

** U S A. WRNO still registered for an imaginary daytime frequency
15590 at 16-22, and much longer hours on 7505, 22-16, which is
sometimes on air at 01-04 only:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=RNO

** U S A. Needlessly complex WWCR sked on same old frequencies except:
12180 at 12-24, also 12160 at 15-21 both on 85-degree antenna.
Possible alternate?
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=WCR

** VANUATU. VBT shows a neat schedule on four non-overlapping
frequencies at 01-24: 7260, 3945, 2485, 3945; and also 5040 at 20-23
only, which is apparently its only active frequency currently at any
time:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=VBT

** VATICAN. International Radio for Disaster Relief is still
registering 24/7 schedules on one frequency in every band 11 to 50
meters, all as if from SMG, surely place-holders; despite never having
done anything for all the disasters we have been suffering:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B21&broadc=RDR
O, each noted as: ``!IRDR! Dummy Req.`` OK! LOTS more dummies above
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ALGERIA [non]. 13815, Oct 19 at 1842, Qur`an at S7-S9, during RTA
relay hour via FRANCE. Violating Separation of Mosque and State ---
what, you say? Well, there should be, everywhere. My unID of 13815 in
Arabic after 23 UT once, remains a mystery (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9540-9590 approx., Oct 19 at 2207, splash range from heavy
jamming centered on 9565 against R. Martí; and another peak about
9600-9605 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9710, Oct 19 at 2210, RHC S9+20 but distorted, as the Chief
Meteorologist roughly summarizes weather for Canada, USA, in Spanish;
as well as about :15 past some English hours. Even worse on
undermodulated 11850. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

You may notice that I seldom mention the content of RHC programming;
because it`s so outweighed by their SAWAs; and because you cannot
trust RHC to be honest about Cuban affairs, let alone American. DDC is
a good source for The Other Side, for example:

'Growing old in Cuba is like a living hell' -- 'I’m not helpless, and
I don't want to be condescended to. I need a dignified retirement,'
says a retired teacher who worked for the state for 35 years...
https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1634315177_34832.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, Oct 19 at 1501 tune-in for another
Tuesday-only check of IRRS` Kashmir Civitas [not Citivas I typoed last
week], VG S9+35 via UTwente, but it`s in Romanian!! I bet that`s RRI
programming by mistake; 1502 abrupt cut to Urdu with music background,
shortly switch to another speaker with no music. 1514 adding the
strumming undercurrent; 1526 cut to lite jazz, presumably filler after
K.C. feed ends or fails, until chopped off air at 1529.5* with no
further announcements nor even RRI IS fragment this week (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7254.9+, Oct 19 at 0615, VON is on for a change, S9+10/20
in Hausa. Replying to my previous obs that it`s mostly missing at
0600+, Ron Howard and Wolfgang Bueschel say it`s intermittent and/or
may come on air later than I check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAIPAN [and non]. 11895, Oct 19 at 0609, S7-S9 in Chinese, SSOB as
otherwise on 25 mb nothing but JBA carriers. RFA Chinese scheduled,
also jammed, and also CRI English via Kashgar, East Turkistan, land of
imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems. 22 mb
also vacant except for 13840 NZ. Nothing but Pacific is propagating
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 11940, Oct 18 at 2200, REE back here after being the one
frequency missing the past week; but like before it crashed, again
distorted as switches from Spanish to English on a Monday; the S
American beam, now also fluttery and ``hollow``-sounding. The other
three are detectable, 17855, 15520, 11670, but 11940 is ``best``.

Another check Oct 19 at 2219, presumably Sefarad on Tuesday, 11670 &
11940 are JBA; zero on 15520 and JBA carrier on 17855. WWV says
K-index at 21 was 4, but no storms observed or predicted (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 245-MCW kHz, Oct 19 at 0620 UT, ND beacon FS, 400 watts from
Sioux Falls SD.

263-MCW kHz, Oct 19 at 0622 UT, NDB CVM, 25 watts from Alton / Civic
Memorial IL. Tuning upward for a change, the only two I log before
offdozing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13563.5 approx., Oct 19 at 1425, JBA CW somewhere between
13563 and 13564, finally another HIFER beacon logged, as I was
checking for 13565 K6FRC - not today. Very tough copy, not sure
whether middle letter has 3 or 4 dots, so YHO? NO, YSO per
https://www.lwca.net/sitepage/part15/index.htm
``13563.5~ YSO Yellow Springs OH EM89 New. CW. AJ8S (h 2021/08)``
Axually I was thinking it could be there if ``YSO``.

So then I look up AJ8S at:
https://www.qrz.com/lookup/aj8s

AJ8S USA flag USA
JAMES C BAILEY
YELLOW SPRINGS, OH 45387 USA

including his portrait but none of his YSO rig:
https://cdn-bio.qrz.com/s/aj8s/me.JPG

``I operate a Part 15 cw beason [sic] "YSO" on 13563.5 kHz. Reports
are appreciated. I am a private pilot with an instrument rating but I
am no longer active as we sold our 1965 C172. As a retired engineer, I
enjoy traveling with my wife and have plenty of free time for ham
radio. I hope to hear you on the air. Thanks for reading. 73, Jim.``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7490-, Mon Oct 18 at 2303, WBCQ with secret replay of first
half of `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot` from 25 hours ago, this time tunes
of Togo. S9+10 via Maryland remote, SAM mode showing offset minus 71
Hz = 7489.929 kHz; again I am resorting to this since webcast is so
distorted. Cut off at 2330 for bit of music, then spot ad for
refrigerator/freezers at Lowe`s, and immediately into `Camp
Constitution Radio`, far-right nonsense --- which Lowe`s is
sponsoring? By 0033 recheck during `FTIOM` has drifted to customarea
of -103 Hz = 7488.897 kHz; and 0218 rerecheck only 1 Hz lower (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, Oct 19 at 0607, zero signal from WBCQ/WLCR, tho
neighbor 9265 WINB with TOMBS is well audible. 9330 still AWOL at
1435. Exasperated Allan Weiner Worldwide had complained that something
new breaks it down every sesquiday = 36 hours. But not a bit about
this situation at his disgraced Twitter, all politix, piety and
promotion. 9330 is back on Oct 19 at 2204, S9+20 in Brazuguese (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, Oct 19 at 2312, on WRMI, this week`s `AWR Wavescan`
includes an interview with Kim Andrew Elliott about how he got into
SWL and SWBC, and now all about Radiograms; I think they said it was
originally on KABC? or more likely KBC as in Mighty to which he
contributes; to be continued (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9687.8-USB approx., Oct 19 at 0613, JBA 2-way INTRUDERS,
not Spanish? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ARMENIA. 13690, Oct 18 at 1402, one of better signals on band at
S4-S6 with flutter, music must be S Asian as this is TWR India in
extremely convoluted language schedule by quarter-hour 1330-1500 and
day-of-week, per Aoki and EiBi on Monday 1400-1415 as Vasavi, abbr`d
VV or [vas], spoken by a megaperson in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Gone
at 1447 recheck, tho supposedly in English at 1430-1500 M-F (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, Oct 18 at 0559, RHC English with horrible humbuzz now
rapidly intermittent to boot, and splattering plus/minus 10 at least.
Others: 6100 S9+20/30 but overmodulatedistorted; 6165 best at S9+30;
6000 still on at 0601, S9+20 with hum; 5040 now in Spanish at
S9+20/30. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13840, Oct 18 at 0558, RNZI achieves S9+20/30 here,
better than before and now sufficient as replacement for 11725; let`s
hope it continue at this level into NAm (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 11880, Oct 18 until 1457*, RRI IS good and off; at end of
German hour via a funxional Tsiganeshti AM transmitter (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 347-MCW kHz, Oct 18 at 0618 UT, ND beacon AFK, which is 25
watts from Nebraska City NE, only one logged before I offdoze (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2108 monitoring: Alfredo Cotroneo
explains why WOR was missing from IRRS 7290 & 918 Friday October 15 at
1815: On third Fridays it`s Radio City instead. None of this is shown
on:
https://www.nexus.org/member-services/radio-and-tv/schedules/friday-program-schedule/

Confirmed Sunday October 17 at 2230 on WRMI 5950, S9+22 and 9955,
S9+30/35, both into Knoxville SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday October 18 at 0030 on WRMIs: 7730 VG direct;
9395 S9+25 and 9455 much weaker S9/S7 into Knoxville.

Also confirmed after 0130 UT Mon Oct 18 on WRN N American webcast.

Also confirmed from 0302.7 UT Mon Oct 18 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160
minus 53 Hz = 6159.947, S9+10 into Maryland SDR, and much stronger
there than adjacent 6165 RHC. JL ran slightly over, and then Larry
stuck in an ancient clip of me reciting lyrix to a Slinky song; maybe
for an SWL Fest presentation? And then WOR. Next, not until
Wednesday:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

** U S A. 7490v, Sunday October 17 at 2230, despite simulWOR on two
WRMIs, I`m listening to second half of `UBMP` on WBCQ -- as usual the
webcast is too distorted, so I`m on a Maryland SDR at S9+15/20 for
better sound. Now it`s a female singer from Togo. I plan to catch the
first half on secret repeat Monday at 2300 on same.

I can`t help but notice that in Synch mode, this SDR shows WBCQ almost
on-frequency! 7490 minus only 0.5 to 1.5 Hz. For weeks it had usually
been around 100 Hz minus. I check further an hour+ later at 2337 but
it`s drifted up +17.5; at 2359, +49; at 0009 Oct 18, +52; at 0028, +56
Hz. By 0215 has faded to JBA but +58 Hz. I wonder if this slow drift
upwards be typical over a few hours of upwarming (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 15555-USB, Oct 18 at 1453, S7 gospel huxter as WJHR is
rarely audible, and/or rarely on? Glorified ham station (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re my 1580, KFCS log, Wayne Heinen replies:

``Glenn writes: “But in Colorado Springs itself on 94.7 there is
K234AJ, 84-watt Christian in English relay of KTLF 90.5. With a
separate but probably previous entry for the same except call as
K290AK which would not be 94.7 at all.”

FCC has K290AK at 105.9 in Colorado Springs….

All the Tigre stations are owned by GREELEY BROADCASTING CORPORATION
except for K276GG. MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY TRANSLATORS, LLC. which appears
to be a leased operation. Colorado Springs and Pueblo are
geographically separated by Cheyenne Mountain so the 94.7 xlator can
easily coexist with Tigre 94.7

Glenn writes: “Where is Beulah? Remote tiny town SW of Pueblo.
Strangely, nothing about KRYE 94.7 here:” {in Wikipedia}

Like many of the other “City of License” locations that the FCC
accepts in suburbs and surrounding grazing lands. It’s a way to
shoehorn in a radio station…

The Tigre brand is GREELEY BROADCASTING CORPORATION whose Tigre is out
of Greeley at KGRE AM & FM and translator K271BN Estes Park are wholly
owned. 73 Wayne Heinen N0POH, Editor, NRC AM Radio Log, Aurora, CO``

346-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0634 UT, dash and YXL, 500 watts from Sioux
Lookout ON

351-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0633 UT, dash and YKQ, 500 watts from Fort
Rupert / Waskaganish QC

362-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0632 UT, dash and SB, 500 watts from Greater
Sudbury ON

See U S A for a few more interspersed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11850, Oct 17 at 2210, RHC Spanish S9+25 but severely
suptorted; flanked by parasitic JBA spur carriers 11840 & vs jamming
on 11860. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 11670, Oct 17 at 2159, REE best here with 2200 TS and dead
air for a while. Just before that, 17855 & 15520 JBA carriers, 11940
still no signal; direct, even tho 11670 is on worst azimuth toward
Africa, but lowest by MUF (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Some ND beacons not often heard but audible during a
bandscan downward Oct 17 at 0630-0702 UT, interspersed among more
Canadians, q.v.:

257-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0653 UT, FWC, 25 watts from Fairfield / Wayne
County IL. I was tuned to 255-USB, still in absence of SW Stillwater
OK. And FWC has a very brief pause between repeats

282-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0639 UT, ROS, 25 watts from Rush City MN. The
only NDB on this frequency anywhere in N America; and a rare new one
for me, I think. Rush City is at exit 159 of I-35, N of MSP.

329-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0636 UT, PMV, 25 watts from Plattsmouth NE

417-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0631 UT, IY, 25 watts from Charles City IA;
better copy tuned to 415-USB

420-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 0630 UT, FQ, 25 watts from Fairmont MN

And next daytime: 341-MCW kHz, Oct 17 at 1506 UT, OIN, 25 watts from
Oberlin KS - still in absence of local EI Enid - it had a long pause,
so must not hasten across frequency to be sure it`s still AWOL from
its 3 little dits (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1580 et al.., reply to questions raised with KFCS log:

Strangely, nothing about KRYE 94.7 here:”
