Thursday, May 19 2022
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, May 18 at 1443 tune-in via Campo Brasil SDR, LRA36 is already on with music; 1453 song with whistling; 1500 sign-on with multilingual IDs including English to tell us it`s in Spanish. 1502 all-female staff named by a male, ``Nacional, La Radio Publica``; Esperanza/Antártida themesong. 1505 YL talking; 1507 temperatura máxima; 1508 exact geographical coordinates. 1509 contact info of phone numbers, whatsaap, gmail, instagram, fb; streaming via radio nacional, frequencies 15476 and FM 96.7 [NOT 97.6, a mixup which keeps getting quoted, published]; 1512 song, 1514 siren.
At 1525 for the record I attempt to detect it direct on the R75 with 30m E/W longwire: less than imagination level JBA carrier; if it were full rather than reduced -- what %? -- it might have a chance vs the S7 local line noise level in AM tuning. Next I switch to the LU1 SDR: 1536 ID, frequencies; 1545 full ID; still on past 1602, 1618+ with music but apparently off, no longer heard from 1621 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9780-9835, May 18 at 0632, approx. range of jamming splatter out of peak 9805 = S9 against nothing as R. Martí is never on 9805 at this hour, in fact on no SW frequencies at all in 0600/1000 break. Something`s very wrong at the incompetent DentroCuban Jamming Command where they also do not give a damn about collateral damage (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9440v, May 18 at 2225, NO signal today of R. Cairo English into UTwente. Nor circa 9900 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Wed May 18 at 2210, token English from REE, today`s feature with Amy Egan about the Eurovision Song Contest won by Ukraine, also with other entries such as Spain`s. VG into Maryland SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830.021, May 18 at 2225, VOT English, S9+40 into UTwente with some hum, just concluding the `Feeling Supreme` theme (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday May 17 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+20 into Maryland SDR and no jamming audible; also have UTwente running way outside target area and no signal there, just clicking. At 2258 direct, 9955 is S9+10/20 and jamming is building for the 2300 Radio Libertad until 2400: but at 2325 fill music is playing. WOR also confirmed at new time of Tuesday May 17 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+5/20 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed Wednesday May 18 at approx. 2100:21 on WBCQ 7490v, S7/S9 into Maryland SDR minus 70 Hz = 7489.93. Next: 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, by MO check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Slight correxions to 5130 Radio Angela report May 17: [...] At 0200 starts `Marion`s Attic`. We have now escaped CODAR QRM and the uteblaaps! No QRM to 5130, but still some storm crashes inevitably in spring/summer. Yet listenable, and better than the original 7490v airing too early direct at 21 UT Sundays. 0300 next show is `Bluegrass State of Mind`. Or, is it ``Mine``? 5130 ex-4790 of course also applies to WORLD OF RADIO at 0400 UT Saturdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2332 UT May 18

** AUSTRALIA. 10124 USB, May 17 at 0628, ragchew hamnet of Oz accents, more unID VKs in the Aussie-only phone subband on 29 m, 10120-10135 kHz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 9667.177V, May 17 at 0635, RVM music, carrier wobbling audibly but still exceeding 9667 from nominal 9665 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13680, May 17 at 2001, RHC theme JBA and sounds like Portuguese/Brasilian. This frequency is still missing from EiBi and Aoki tho I reported it some time ago. Is anyone paying attention? 15140, May 17 at 2002, RHC definitely in Brazuguese, S6/S8 but not // 13680. Maybe two separate playouts. Aoki is way out of date, still showing winter timing for English on 15140 at 2000-2100. EiBi on 15140 at 2000-2030 shows French. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9439.995, May 17 at 2201, R. Cairo still in extremely distorted English, plus hum S9+30/40 into UTwente. As Alan Holder quipped, ``something`s always amiss at Abis``, but that does not do this justice; rather, ``egregious in Egypt`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SRI LANKA. Correxion to typo in frequency as ``15709.079``! Delete original report and replace with: 15709.979, May 16 at 1447, JBA carrier. Scheduled is AWR Chinese via Trincomalee on ``15710`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, May 17 at 0500-0506, UR1 via WRMI, day 82 of Russia`s war, `Ukraine: Security Issue` in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday May 17 at 0030 on WRMIs, into Missouri SDR: 9395, S9+22 and 9455, S8/S9+10. Next: 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 [NEW] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, by MO check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. ``Glenn, the WRMI spurspikes below 9455 have been going on for at least a couple of weeks. I can hear them well up to 150 kHz below fundamental when reception is good. One night they pretty much ruined otherwise decent reception of BBCWS via SMG at 0500 on 9410. Stephen Luce, Houston, Texas`` as of May 13. Also, typo in my report as ``9355`` instead of correct 9335, spurs heard even next to WBCQ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, Tue May 17 at 1930, VOA News via WRMI, and 1935 `Flashpoint: Ukraine` dated today, not Mon May 16 edition which got lost, since 72-hour-previous Fri May 13 edition played yesterday. S9/+10 into Maryland SDR. But followed by another anomaly at 2000, faux-time-signal and VORW, John claiming it be Sunday May 15 on 5850 doing a full new show tho did not feel well (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5130, May 17 at *0155, WBCQ IS & ID loop, just reactivated for first time, ex-4790 for Radio Angela. S9/+5 into Maryland SDR reading -22 Hz = 5129.978 as every Classic `BCQ frequency must be at least slightly askew. At 0200 starts `Marion`s Attic`. We have now escaped CODAR QRM and the uteblaaps! No QRM to 5130, but still some storm crashes inevitably in spring/summer. Yet listenable, and better than the original 7490v airing too early at 21 UT Fridays. 0300 next show is `Bluegrass State of Mind`. Or, is it ``Mine``? 5130 ex-4790 of course also applies to WORLD OF RADIO at 0400 UT Saturdays. 4790, from 0343 I inspect the ex-frequency via same remote: the uteblaaps are still there visible on waterfall and/or audible, once a minute near :00 and also near :42 past each minute. One at a time, in three different positions: below, right on, or above, 4790. They too are now free of WBCQRM - you`re welcome (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, May 17 at 0145, NO signal from WRNO which nominally starts at 0100. Also missing last night. Previous report to the WOR iog: ``7505even, ONLY EMPTY CARRIER of WRNO New Orleans at 1234 UT on May 13, S=9 in NY state, two 120 Hertz distance apart strings either sideband visible too.[selected SDR options, span 12.5 kHz RBW 15.3 Hertz] (wb df5sx, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews May 8 / 13)`` Last reports were on UT May 14: ``Distorted audio of WRNO Worldwide Radio in English on 7505 kHz via New Orleans, May 14 from 0430 on 7505 RNO 050 kW / 020 deg to ENAm English. Walt`` Salmaniw, BC, 0218 UT May 16. This is not unusual: WRNO may disappear for nights or weeks at a time for no obvious reason: technical or operational? ** CANADA. 248 MCW kHz, May 16 at 0451 UT, dash and WG, powerful ND beacon at Winnipeg, glad to find it copiable despite HSNL, if no other Canadians and hardly any Americans beyond 341 EI Enid (Glenn Hauer, OK, WOR)
** CHINA [non]. 9790, May 16 at 0458, CRI Cantonese via CUBA is S9+40 atop CCI in French which is RFI from 0400. At 0506 check, RFI S9:15 in the clear on this 04-07 UT broadcast, huge collision during first hour. RHC not in HFCC so how could RFI possibly know of a problem? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6000, May 16 at 0513, RHC with S9+35 of dead air in English, or maybe JBM; 6060 & 6100 are off already; 6165 is on S9+40/45 and modulating; 5040 in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 13650, May 16 at 2037, RRI first English of the day for N America is huge S9+50 into UTwente, but absent from // 11850, the ailing transmitter. 2045 `History Show` about a great poet (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** RUSSIA. 9996 kHz, May 16 at 0456, binary code, no doubt RWM Taldom/Moskva. BTW, American media kept mispronouncing Móskva as the name of that downed naval vessel. They must never have heard any SW utterance of ``Govorit Moskvá`` with the stress obviously on the -a (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7730, May 16 at 0500, UR1 via WRMI resuming `Ukraine: Security Issue` war summary in English; S9/S7 direct with storm crashes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SRI LANKA. 15709.079, May 16 at 1447, JBA carrier. Scheduled is AWR Chinese via Trincomallee on ``15710`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed Sunday May 15 from 2000.7 UT on IRRS SW via AM Italia, Villa Estense, 1323 kHz, S9 and noisy into nearby Noale KiwiSDR; and not on 918 or 207. Also confirmed Sunday May 15 at 2230 on WRMI 5950, S9+10 into Knoxville SDR. This airing perpetuates despite axed from websked. Also confirmed UT Monday May 16 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S8/S9 and noisy into undirect Knoxville SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday May 16 at 0301 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160-. Dead air at first, then an F-explative in the voice of Allan Weiner, as A51 sometimes inserts such amusements; WOR itself sounded slightly overmodulated/distorted. Next: 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 [NEW] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, by MO check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), Sunday May 15 from 2200, WBCQ webcast of `Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot`, music from Ireland for St Patrix Day as originally broadcast in 2017y, rerun of the third episode when they were only a semihour. That should rereplay Monday at 2300. Sunday 2230 restart another episode of variety starting with Serbia, 2250 greeting Michigan ARE where they like hot women and cold beer, as Ep #4. Reruns still as UB is Covidailing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4790, UT Monday May 16 after 0200, WBCQ Radio Angela with another opera on `Concert Hall`, but unlistenable via Maryland SDR with uteblaaps every few seconds. Was last chance for 4790, as 5130 to replace it from UT May 17. If the blaaps follow it there, that will be really suspicious (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5950, UT Monday May 16 at 0200 I do catch this week`s `Encore` of classical music via WRMI; almost sufficient into Knoxville SDR but a bit of Cuban jamming splat from 5955, whence Radio República has been kaput for a decade, unless BW narrowed, rather not for music, or LSBed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, Monday May 16 at 1930 after R. Prague, WRMI with `Flashpoint Ukraine` from VOA webcast, soon specified as Friday May 13! Skipping the news first since it would have been 48 hours olds. Recall that FPU was missing Wed & Thu May 11 & 12, but I missed checking May 13: no problem: we`ve got it now! But, what about the Monday May 16 edition? Ended at 1954, then jive VOA ID, dead air; 1956 thumb piano music? WRMI ID and more music fill until Mistruths to Mistrust (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9940, May 16 at 2208, WTWW again/still absent as ``Voice of Freedom`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, May 16 circa 1730 & 1800 UT on caradio, and circa 2200 fixed, KLEY Wellington KS still providing air that is dead (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (91.5), Sunday May 15 from 2301 UT, KTXK Texarkana (about as far from Lubbock as possible in TX as I misplaced it last time, confused with KTXT), webcast of `Weekend Radio` originated with WCLV, on my last chance to hear this week`s episode on one of the fewer affiliates remaining. After a ToH commercial, another break at 2311 pushing buying a ``spot for $ 3 to support public radio``. Surely this is crossing the line into commercialism, and there were some brief spots later which sounded just like ads, not ``underwriting``. Yet to boot, show ended early at 2350 so some content must have been cut. HQ does provide a cue sheet confirming it was this week`s episode, but post facto could not figure what came out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2247 UT May 16

** CHINA. 15800, 15760, 15360, May 15 at 1440, CNR1 jammers with bigsigs S7 to S9+10; Aoki shows all three are occupied only by Sound of Hope and jammers, all other stations prudently avoiding them at all hours. Also weaker but not synch, Chinese on 15110, which is CNR1 jamming against VOA Chinese via Philippines this hour only. At 1443 I find a couple more: 14980 JBA and 15920 S8/S9, also nothing but jammers and SOH per Aoki. 15 MHz is obviously the current OWF from East Asia (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 9650, May 15 at 0141, RHC Spanish S9/+20 undermodulated // 9535. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NETHERLANDS [non]. 9925, UT Sun May 15 at 0136, quick check of The Mighty KBC gets rock and Eric at S9+25/30 via EAST GERMANY, rivalling 9975 KVOH. Just another too much in the Saturday Night SW Music Glut (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6960 AM, May 15 at 0039, pirate S8/S9+5 vs high storm noise level -- HSNL, ``Games People Play`` and segué another song. 0109 YL ``Greatest hits of all time, Ball Smacker``, and tenpins SFX, now S9+15 between storm crashes. Off by 0147 check. Of the three simulpirates, this is #2 in overall quality. More: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,97162.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6930 USB, May 15 at 0101, S9+10 pirate with electric guitar; 0103 retune, DJ has spoken a bit and SSTV, 0104 music, ``Let`s Speak English, But Not My Salad[?]``, more electric guitar. 0127 SSTV is ending? then some more, 0128 music. 0148 SSTV? beepery sounds like looping past 0150 when DJ grunts, ``I Wanna Be a DJ`` song still playing until 0200 when there are some more noises unseeming SSTV, then off, or dead air as I am about to QRT. Of the three simulpirates, this is #1 in strength and quality. These say Wasteland Radio, did stop at 0200*, with noisy SSTV images: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,97163.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6920 USB, May 15 at 0102, third simulpirate and #3 in quality, S7 song vs HSNL; 0117 ``Time After Time``; 0122 off? No, was pause or fade. 0147 still on with weak music. WDOG, per: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,97164.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 9730, UT Sun May 15 at 0139, classical `cello music, S9+15/30, 0140 applause and Romanian announcement. This is the 00-02 Galbeni to E NAm. Alan Roe`s Music on SW shows `Radio Concert Season` during the entire 01 hour, // 7420. More in the Saturday Night SW Music Glut; wish I could keep listening (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, May 15 at 0500 UT, UR1 via WRMI as I break away from the WBOB DX test to another SDR, Maryland. Not usual `Ukraine: Security Issue` war news review, but JIP originally live press conference about winning the Eurovision Song Contest. Mixture of English and Ukrainian, translations back and forth and rather frustrating when the English is interrupted. At 0508 ``Happy Birthday`` song in English; still gong past 0513 when I resume WBOB. At 0534 recheck, now `U:SI` is playing later in the hour than usual (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed Saturday May 14 at 1930 on WRMI 15770, S9 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed at 1930 on WRN webcast to N America. Also confirmed starting at 1931 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+5 steady into nearby SDR. Not confirmed UT Sunday May 15 at 0030 on WRMI 7780 --- rather last week`s 2137 playing. Oh2, probably my fault, missed uploading to System D server. Fortunately this the first? airing by that, so 2138 is now ready for UT Mon 0030 on 7780, and UT Thu 0130 on 5010 --- and as I check the skedgrid find a NEW airing on D, UT Friday 0330 on 7780. And another new one without notice, Tuesday 2330 on System G 9395 - an hour after System B on 9955, jammed by Cuba. Also confirmed UT Sunday May 15 at 0321 about 3 minutes into so started circa 0318 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+5 direct vs HSNL. Also confirmed Sunday May 15 ending at 1356 on WMRI via Channel 292, Germany, 9670, so must have started a bit early at 1327; and immediately into Russian. S5/S7 into NW Eire SDR. Next: 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled? still May 8] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, by MO check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5850, UT Sun May 15 at 0145, WRMI with `Encore` classical music, into Chinese opera, ``Liza Lim flies to the moon``, S9+15/40 atop HSNL. Due to all my pirate and other tuning this hour, I`m missing it! Must get next play UT Monday 0200 on 5950. 5850 has some hum unlike 5800, 5950. Now on 5950 is more music in the Saturday Night SW Music Glut, which I cannot possibly also audition, TRSW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 6159.9, May 15 at 0119, JBA carrier, must be WBCQ due to offset, but ailing very underpowered; vs S9+35/45 ACI de 6165 RHC. WBCQ refuses to deal with that clash (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4790, May 15 at 0152, checking for uteblaaps but none heard direct, just S9 HSNL; *0155 WBCQ starts IS & ID loop buried in the noise for Radio Angela to follow. Uncle Bill tells us May 15: ``Over the next several days, WBCQ's Radio Angela will be migrating from 4790 kHz to a previous WBCQ frequency, 5130 kHz. WBCQ hopes to maintain the same coverage area with this move, perhaps even slightly greater in the US and Canada as west coast CODAR will no longer be a factor. During the week of May 16-22, listeners might want to check both frequencies during broadcast hours (typically 0200-04xx UTC). -Bill Tilford, Lafayette, Indiana`` Not mentioned are the uteblaaps, a last straw for 4790. I have advocated for getting off the 4-5 MHz band completely, especially in summer, as even without the QRM, the storm QRN level is intolerable; should move to a higher band, even 11 MHz, for greater coverage and less noise. This has been futile (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (5085), UT Sun May 15, WTWW-2 webcast despite scheduled from 0000, `Theatre Organ Under the Arch`, again no sign of it at these chex: 0015, 0037, rather hamstuff; nor direct on 5085: 0107 rock and ID from what used to be a cow pasture. O well, one less choice in the Saturday Evening SW Music Glut. 9940, BTW was not to be heard earlier in afternoon. `The Voice of Freedom` for Ukraine, seems quite irregular, at whim of Ted (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9975, UT Sun May 15 at 0132, KVOH inbooms VG at S9+30/40, wideband near hifi, with a bit of jazz, then Pat Conrad announcement during `Saturday Night Jazz Session` --- one more in the Music Glut. He`s going to play some Stephane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt and Coleman Hawkins, but first:: proselytizing quoting Hebrews, etc. 0134 finally music. He just ruined his own show, driving away rational listeners (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 600 kHz, UT Sun May 15 at 0414, S7 via Athens GA SDR, shared with Dene Lynneberg, NZ: WBOB Jaxonvil FL is DX-testing again, with some ABBA. 0417 says running 20 KW now, different than last night, asking for emails. 0418 Monkees, 0419 cutoff or fade - certainly weaker than when was 50 kW. CPC said this time WBOB would be running DX test noises, sweeps, Morse IDs, etc. I do hear sweeps upward thrice at 0421. We have heavy lightning/storming nearby in Garfield County but not right here altho some flashes have been visible overhead. Yet I try for WBOB direct on the E/W longwire into R75: At 0425 HSNL; 0427 slow sweep up? 0429 more definite upsweeps in the QRM & QRN, so I can say I did get WBOB direct. Never heard any Morse IDs; were they ever emitted? Those would be best for DX test definite logging. Back to Athens SDR: 0432 rock music with cutouts; 0435 dead air; 0435.6 music; 0440 outro as Elton John, ND 20 kW, now different than last night, asking reports; muses about the mystery of daytime skywave. Currently working on ground loop problem. 0443 sweeps up, 0444 song; 0447 different sweeps; 0500 Sinatra ``The End is Near``. I tune away for Ukraine, q.v. 0514 recheck, says WBOB is back to full power and will be on a few minutes longer, music, and I quit (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, May 15 at 0116 UT, dead air atop presumed still weak KWKH, i.e. KLEY Wellington KS in its newest open-carrier service. By 0202, KWKH has built up, but still vs KLEY carrier, making a fast SAH. Our latest sunset of c. 0152 will be attained in less than a month, early June. KLEY`s official SR/SS times in UT for May: 1115/0130 UT; June: 1115/0145. That won`t stop them from running the 250 watt day power all night instead of ONE watt, modulated or not (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** U S A. Sent to Robert Conrad, Weekend Radio, WCLV Cleveland: ``Weekend Radio disappearing May 15 at 7:09 PM Bob, I have to inform you that your carriage list is VERY out of date: https://www.ideastream.org/programs/weekend-radio/carriage-list Look at that - still dated 2017!!! There are bound to be changes over a 5-year period, no matter what. Please have Carmelita or someone get it up to date. We missed our Saturday night chances on WCLV and KUCO, so were planning on getting it at noon CDT Sunday on WUOT which we have done before as a backup. But it`s gone. Not on their schedule anytime either, now This American Life. Surely affiliates are obliged at least as a courtesy to notify the program when it is canceled (or added). But this can hardly be relied upon, as I have found in keeping track of stations carrying my own program, and when. Another source would be great except it is not kept up to date either: First you are prompted to set up your preferred timezone: http://publicradiofan.com/cgibin/program.pl?programid=682 I have looked for other chances in the rest of Sunday and the only one I can find, still showing on own schedule, is KTXK Lubbock, 6 pm CDT -- (vs 60 Minutes on TV). I do NOT find W.R. on the current skeds of WBAA, WSND, WNMU, KVLU, KEDM! I have not investigated the other Saturday stations, as it`s too late to hear this week`s program there should they exist. It`s a shame that such a great show has been dropped by several stations. Hope you will keep on keeping on anyway. You might also consider availablizing it on demand, or podcast via WCLV site. Best wishes, Glenn Hauser, Enid OK`` (via Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, May 15 at 0615, NO signal from R. Vanuatu on 3 x 3945. I had been checking it every night but did not do so on May 14 when this was later reported, so our third-harmonic spree suspends: ```Radio Vanuatu seems to be out of the air today 14-05 --- Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain: VANUATU, Radio Vanuatu, Port Vila seems to be out of the air today. Not even carrier heard on 7260 at 0550 and not even carrier heard on 11835 from 0600. Also checked via SDR Kiwi remote receiver in New Zealand, no signal on 3945, 5040, 7260 and 11835`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 28438 USB, May 14 at 2148, weak ham; and then on 28465 USB, another calling CQ 10, but nothing heard on either next few minutes, fadeouts? I mention merely to remind that 10m even seeming dead can pass thru a few signals if sought. However, DXMAPS shows a great many N/S paths, TE contacts. These probably were from South America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 1940 UT May 15
