Glenn Hauser logs July 28-29, 2025 |
|
Tuesday, July 29 2025
** CUBA. 15230, July 28 at 2205, RHC almost dead air but suptorted, S6/S7 direct; while 13780 is S9+10/20 with good modulation in Spanish. A report of 15290 presumed RHC was really RMI via TDF with `Requiem for Radio` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. Re previous report about 1640 Enid once known as KOAG with a note pad, here is my original report of it at beginning of *2013y*: ``** OKLAHOMA. 1640. Jan 3 at 0506 UT, Enid`s X-bander had a new call and a new brand, ID as KOAG, ``All Ag, All Day``, ``keeping farmers and ranchers informed``. 0515 ADM ad, also ``The Farm Station``; segments on sunflowers, sorghum, reference to http://www.allagnews.com This is something syndicated by Paramount Broadcasting Corporation. No affiliate list as such on the website, but the Listen Live page says: ``Listen to All Ag, All Day! live across the Texas/Oklahoma Panhandles at 800AM (KDDD) Dumas-Amarillo; and across the Texas South Plains at 900AM (KFLP) Floydada-Lubbock.`` So it looks like KOAG is only the third station, they have not got around to adding on. Further listening finds KOAG with IRN-USA news on the hour and half-hour (the latter with sports segment). At 1432 the news feed was suffering from IADs, digifarts and some hum. Legal ID still includes Enid-Oklahoma City. Plenty of market reports too. This replaces KFXY, which lastly had a southern gospel music format, always subject to pre-emption for stupid ballgames, as I expect KOAG will be too. All this talk should mean less ACI for DX on 1630 and 1650. Maybe I`ll finally hear XEARZ. Tnx to David Yocis of NRC who spotted the call change at FCC before I did on the local radio. Note that unlike most X-banders, this one is direxional with a figure-8 loop from east of Hennessey, between OKC and Enid so it favors both cities, but nulls toward the ENE and WSW, making it difficult in those direxions. Now they might wish to be non-direxional, better to cover ``all-ag`` areas in western Oklahoma rather than urbanity. And why not? It was a choice; they were not required to be direxional to protect anything, in fact making it worse for WTNI in Mississippi at night (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17715, Monday July 28 at 2200, token English from SNR for SAm, S9+20/30, direct but ZERO signals on the three 19mb channels! 15520, 15390, not even 15500 normally strong for NAm. Propagation? hardly anything else audible on 19m except WRMI and RHC. NO, into UTwente at 2226 check, nothing either except trace? of algo on 15520 and 17715 also blasting in there. Something`s very nonfunxional at Noblejas. O, preview topic was about antibiotic resistance, WHO; 2201 news leading with EU/US agreement on tariffs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN [and non]. 15500 S7/S8 & 15520, July 29 at 0657, weak open? carriers. Strongly suspect REE testing after absence during the 2200 broadcast. Only other 15500 usage per EiBi is KSDA at 11-12, and REE never between 0200 & 1400 depending on day of week. 15520 only REE but not now. Nothing detected now on 17715 or 15390. Woofferton is propagating OK on 15505 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [non]. 11785, July 28 at 2159, NO signal direct from VOT, nor at 2227 into UTwente; could be on accidentalternate 9875, not either, rather weak 9874.911, obviously Korea North. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 28200+ CW, July 28 at 2214, only signal on 10m is JBA beacon, warbling dash, 20 T`s - too long to be E`s, then very fast ID starting with NST, which probably was meant to be TEST; and presumed the one I`ve heard several times as in WGB list: ``28200.5 N4WLO - Theodore AL USA EM50uo - #0/3 (14 May 2025) Note: Text × 3 + de ID only every min + dashes: starts at 15nd ends at 34nd``. QRZ.com: ``N4WLO USA flag USA, TIMOTHY W URBAN, 4801 WINKLER CT, THEODORE, AL 36582`` --- BTW, can it be coincidental that Theodore is near Mobile, home of the erstwhile coastal station WLO? Supposedly closed years ago but current EiBi shows only two frequencies for it, 8788 and 13158 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2305 monitoring: confirmed Monday July 28 at 1930 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.002+ S9/+20 and 3975.001+ S9+5/15 into UTwente. Confirmed Tuesday July 29 at 1300 on WRMI 9955, JBA S7 direct. Confirmed Tuesday July 29 at 1428 the 1400 on WRMI 9955, JBA even unto Maryland remote. Next: 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW]; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. Thanks for financial support this week from Peter Robinson, Preston UK, a very generous contribution via PayPal, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WTWW, splatter again causing severe interference, even unto WWV: 9780-9885, 9975-10020, 10040-10080, VERY approx. ranges of splatter out of 9930, each peaking around the middle, and matching modulation on 9930 via another receiver: July 28 at 2209. Also with discrete spur carriers plus/minus 12.8 kHz on 9917.2 & 9942.8 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17790, July 28 at 2202, WRMI blasting CNN as biased and losing ratings: sounds like Bob Biermann as on `Truth2Ponder`, rather than `Classic Redneck Radio` as sked on System E. This frequency also much stronger than usual, at 2217, S9+20/30, hard to believe still aimed at S America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17790, July 29 at 1455, WRMI with IS & ID loop prior to programming starting at `Top of Hour``. S9 direct. This frequency has lately been much stronger than usual, so I`ve asked Jeff if it still be on the 160 degree azimuth toward S America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9333/9367 approx., July 28 at 2207, spur field out of 9350 WWCR-2 which is blasting in as usual; meanwhile 9330 WBCQ-6 is JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4975, July 29 at 0013, JBA carrier into Bonaire SDR, much weaker than 4940 at S9+. Trying to get an idea whence 4975 emanate, evidently not America South (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 7235, July 29 at 0648 & 0705, JBA AM carrier, direct. Of course could be WHemham, but seems right on frequency and constant, not interrupting. Few 40m HAMs are usually just below 7300. No broadcasters sked now, only CRI and VOK at other hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1944 UT July 29 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

** EAST TURKISTAN [and non]. 17615, July 28 at 0508, nice music with bells, S9/+10 direct, the SSOB except for NZ 17675. EiBi & Aoki show CRI in German via Urumqi; so totally replaced by music fill? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 1640, KZLS Enid: I ran across a notepad imprinted as ALL AG All Day KOAG 1640 AM, 405-633-1099. I hardly recalled such a callsign for this local station, so looked up facility 87168 at FCC LMS: Call Sign History Begin Date KZLS 09/30/2013 KOAG 01/01/2013 KFXY 03/30/2005 KFNY 02/16/2004 KMMZ 09/15/2003 KMKZ 11/24/2000 KMMZ 06/30/2000 KBFQ 05/15/1998 So it lasted only 9 months in 2013y. Enid`s AC is 580, already in effect then: ``580 was created by splitting from 405 on 1 November 1997``. It`s almost always pretended to be an OKC station, complete with direxional pattern thataway from site east of Hennessey. BTW, the latest call KZLS choice was no doubt influenced by another Chisholm Trail Broadcasting station, KXLS 95.7, originally 99.7. That almost-full notepad, truly a collector`s item, page by page; I am open for bids, hi (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 9500, July 28 at 0503 French S9/+10. It`s RRI Galbeni to WEu (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2305 monitoring: confirmed Sunday July 27 at 2100 on WRMI 15770, S7/9+5 into UTwente. Also confirmed Sunday July 27 at 2130 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.000 S9/+10 and delayed maybe a semiminute on 3975.002 S9+10 into UTwente. Also confirmed Sunday July 27 NEW time of 2300 on WRMI 9395, S9+10 into W8BUG Knoxville SDR; checking first Athens GA, seemed to be cutting off and on the air as WOR opened, but must have been SDR problem. Yet no H2Ofall visible at W8BUG. Also confirmed Sunday July 27 at 2330 on WRMI 9455, S8/9+15 into W8BUG SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday July 28 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+15/30 into S Texas SDR; however already in music at 0058, so cut short? Also confirmed UT Monday July 28 at 0105 the 0100 Global Community Radio webcast. Also confirmed UT Monday July 28 at 0130 on WRN North America stream. Also confirmed UT Monday July 28 from 0302 on Area 51 webcast only. The preceding `Lost Discs Radio Show` ran over claiming to be on 7415 & 5110, long-gone BCQ frequencies, but it was/is summer. From what year this recorded? Or are they now uttering outofdate frequencies. They were chopped off 5130 at 0300 sharp for s/off. Next: 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW]; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. Thanks for financial support this week from Peter Robinson, Preston UK, a very generous contribution via PayPal, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4975, July 28 at 0456, JBA carrier direct again, even weaker than 4940 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1902 UT July 28 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs July 26-27, 2025 |
|
Sunday, July 27 2025
** CANADA [non]. 9980, July 26 at 1958, this WWCR is now on, not a few minutes earlier when checked, outro of gospel huxter Radiobible.org, so it may carry from 2000 another repeat of `Requiem for Radio`, ambient sounds mixed with Morse code, JBA spy numbers, etc., Amanda Dawn Christie`s tribute to the destroyed RCI Sackville. This time I find the also unpublicized WBCQ frequency, 7490 which is only S5/S8 into Maryland SDR, while 9980 is blasting in here as usual. Also on WRMI 15770 with a good signal into easterly remotes, and audible on 9395. The fifth frequency is 21600 via TDF Issoudun; all I hear there at first is a hum on the carrier. Like last time, 9980 followed at 2100 with an old unscheduled Pat Boone show until unknown time turnoff (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6000, July 27 at 0215, RHC S9+25/35, sounds like a TV drama soundtrack again, Spanish dialog with music background. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785, July 26 circa 2220, quick check at UTwente to confirm that VOT is not off the air today. Elsewhere, I heard that a record temp of 50.5 C has hit Turkey (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9750.006-, Sun July 27 at 1850, VOT English S9+30/45 into UTwente during `The Pulse of Turkish Foreign Policy` about the TRNC. 1853 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, 1854 music. 1857.7 `Letterbox` - Cemre is back from visiting Vienna, T-storms. 1) Mohammed Breyel??, KL, Malaysia. 2) -- --, Japan where it`s rainy season; handwritten with ink on paper, neat! 3) Juan Arsomola?, Spain. 4) -- --, W. Kalimantan, Indonesia, listened to stream. 5) Jayanta Chakroborty, India, 7275 was ``totally blocked``, 6165 QRMed too. Blackout? Emirler says there was a problem on 23/7 but OK on 24/7. 6) finally, Alan Holder, UK, cooled down from 30 to 25 C. Especially nice reply to this long-time listener. Ankara with summer heat. Spells name of new team member! But I miss it. Should spell *all* names slowly & fonetikaly. 1912 that is all (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K O G B A N I. 7350, July 26 at 1957, see previous report, `Radio Love Warbler` via Woofferton cuts to dead air, and shortly off with no announcement heard now nor earlier since 1900. Was S9+50 into UTwente. This was just in time for *another* hour of very weird sounds, see CANADA [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2305 monitoring: Confirmed Saturday July 26 at 1951 the 1930 on WRN North America stream and still not on WRMI stream contrary to own sked. Kept trying to confirm the first broadcast on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, nominal 1930 Sat July 26. Lacking the nearby Warrenton MO SDR any more, it`s a challenge to detect it in the summer daytime. Nearest Kiwis are a few in Illinois, and further parts of IA & MO. Time is very variable, so might start much later than 1930 or even earlier. At 2014, the N9AZZ remote becomes readable S5 in noise with Amateur Radio Newsline; 2017 Vern spends a few minutes about ham fests, local events in St Louis area; and at 2023, ARRL Audio News. Maybe WOR started some 15 minutes later but by then no signal detectable. Did anyone hear me? Confirmed Saturday July 26 at 2120 the new 2100 on WRMI 9395, S8/9+10 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed Saturday July 26 at 2230 on WRMI 15770, S9/+10 direct. Also confirmed UT Sunday July 27 at 0315 just started close to nominal, ended at 0343, on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, S9+15/20 into N9AZZ remote. Also confirmed Sunday July 27 at 1913 the 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994, S9+10 with storm crashes into nearby Noale SDR. Was JBA when first checked at UTwente. Not on 918 or 207. Next: 2100 UT Sunday WRMI 15770 to NE; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2300 UT Sunday WRMI 9395 to NNW [new, to be confirmed]; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9455 to NW; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160 [suspended]; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW]; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. 15150, July 27 at 1522, NO signal from WMLK. Nor have I run across it for several days. Website ``program guide`` shows a bunch of TV station times for the Sacred Name Telecast. Can`t find even a frequency sked for SW, but HFCC registered days 1 thru 6, Never on Sabbathdays: 12-17 15150, 1730-2230 17525, 23-04 9275. I believe 17525 has been absent for months, and the other two very erratic at best. However, ``WMLK Live Radio`` is streaming. They call themselves ``Assemblies of Yahweh`` -- God`ll get `em for that!! Misspelling His Name; it`s YAHWAH, just ask Classic Redneck Radio. The Hebrews/Semites were never very careful with their vowels (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1700 kHz, July 27 at 0612 UT, KKLF in normal ops, not a 16-second loop; ID in English as ``Jalapeño Radio Network 95.7`` which is a mere translator also in Richardson TX, K239DA, 60 watts at 99 meters HAAT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU [and non]. 9960, July 27 at 0618 RV, music at S6/S8 about same strength on meter as 9955 WRMI, but RV quite louder (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4975, July 27 at 0218, that intriguing JBA carrier has appeared again, as weak as Estación 4940 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 1940 UT July 27 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
