** AUSTRIA. 18152 USB, June 11 at 2225, OE6##, Tom, working pileups as if there be a contest and he be rare. Found a match of exact time and frequency at https://dxheat.com/dxc/ as OE6TLF, and at qrz.com: OE6TLF Austria flag Austria Thomas (Tom) Loidl 8224 Kaindorf 300 Austria (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9440, June 11 at 2228, distorted music at S3/S6, better than usual for R. Cairo direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** GERMANY [non]. 15215.10, June 12 at 0632, African language S6/S9. It`s DW via Issoudun, FRANCE defective transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ITALY. 21244.3 USB, II3WR TC calling QRZ and working someone unheard in Oklahoma. He always appends TC fonetikaly to his call after a pause; what`s that mean? No, it`s really a 4-letter suffix from a multi-operator station per qrz.com: II3WRTC Italy flag Italy WRTC 2022 Award S.E.S. wrtc2022.it/award Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige Italy We have to go to the award site to find out what WRTC stand for: World Radio Team Championship (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27184.5, June 11 at 2033 UT, S9+22 of country music as // 103.1 KOFM Enid continues to be a SW station tnx to a CB pirate relayer. Still going at 0209 June 12 check. 27184.4, June 12 at 1919 still KOFM relay but with huge het from 27185.4, another carrier to jam it? KOFM still audible at 27183.4 area. Anyone DXing this by sporadic E skip? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Hepburn tropo map shows Level 5 = strong blob edging Enid over SE half of OK into AR, so bandscan from 1426 UT June 12: BAD signals on RF: 9, 10, 11, 20, 23, 31, 32, 35 which are otherwise open; also OK channels baddened no doubt by DX QRM: 7, 17. Channel which ought to bear DX but nothing due to two DX CCI: 26. Decodes: RF 28, Ion 44: KTPX Okmulgee OK for Tulsa RF 34, 41-1, KMYT-TV Tulsa OK RF 36, 17-1, TBN-HD KDOT-TV Bartlesville OK for Tulsa mkt RF 22, 23-1, KOKI-TV Tulsa Fox RF 21, 40-1, KHBS-DT, Fort Smith AR, ABC: site is near Poteau, OKLAHOMA per FCC contour map!! RF 20, 19-1, KQCW-HD Muskogee for Tulsa No time to explore multi/sub channels for each, but rabbitears.info listings I have found to be quite accurate. As always my DTV DX is via Zenith set-top-box converter, fed by one antenna about 7 feet above roof peak, hi VHF/UHF only, reflector element slightly broken/hanging misaligned, fix-aimed SSE toward OKC, and no amp. Under dead condx it will not decode KETA 13, KOCM 16, KSBI 23. Besides not being on UHF, OETA`s problem is QRM from 2nd harmonic of local 107.1 KNID which falls within ch 13 on 214.2 MHz. I used to be able to get KETAs-13 by carefully placed rabbit ears, but not lately: something changed?? Several greater FM/TV antennas and rotors have not survived storms thru the years. Thus I cannot even try for lowband Es DTV DX; altho this antenna did once manage to DX KBSD RF6 Ensign KS by strong tropo so I do recheck for that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SLOVENIA. 18130 USB, June 11 at 22224, sounds like CR51DX, as in a Portuguese colony? No, mentions Slovenia, so it`s really S51DX as in Sierra instead of C-R. I was thrown likewise in 2020 by his brother S57DX. S51DX: S51DX Slovenia flag Slovenia, JANEZ CELARC, Susnikova cesta 9, 1360 VRHNIKA, Slovenia Previously logged on 18130-USB, Oct 31, 2020 at 1450 and on 10m, 28505.6 USB, March 28, 2014 at 1434 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, June 11 at 2229, VOT English YL, S5/S7 but LSB required to avoid RTTY USB. Often nearly inaudible unless I go remotedly to UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, June 12 at 0500, YP1 via WRMI with English `Ukraine: Security Issue`, but Day 107 of war with YL#1, repeat of 24 hours ago so RMI did not get a new file today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 22477.5 CW, June 11 at 2240, VVV DE KPH etc., alternating fast and slow markers mentioning QRU = have you anything for me? As in EiBi for KPH Point Reyes CA, 1700-2300 Saturdays only. I`m bandscanning the entire 22-25 MHz range for anything at all other than hams which are propagating above and below, and this is all I hit. I`m hoping for some broadcast harmonix, but no luck yet. I showed in my Hunting Harmonics [sic] with Hauser column in NASWA FRENDX, SWBC harmonic ranges, but which would now be: 23000-24320 for 2 x 11 MHz band; 23200-24800 for 4 x 5/6 MHz band; 23750-25650 for 5 x 4/5 MHz band. 21600-23340 for 3 x extended 7 MHz band. Further ranges from more bands can be calculated up to 31 MHz or even higher (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. No luck June 11-UT 12 with sporadic E FM DX here, altho DXMAPS showed several openings not quite reaching us and a few high MUF spixe. At least pokes above 28 MHz for some more 10m ham beacons at 0033-0055 UT June 12; but all faded before 0100. Online streaming is no more like radio than intravenous feeding is like fine dining. Authoritarian governments can control the Internet but they can`t control RF propagation`` One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15150, June 11 at 2051, no signal from reactivated WMLK, Bethel PA. There were reports Friday June 10 around 2230 of carriers on its other registered frequency, 9275, and their FB claimed they were about ready to test on the air. Of course, June 11 is a Sabbathday off, but maybe on Sunday. However, 15150 is A-22 registered at the rather strange span of 04-09 for Europe, whilst 9275 only at 17-22, both 300 kW at 53 degrees on days 123456 only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, June 11 at 2245 UT, KLEY Wellington KS is again/still dead air. Way to go, Rocking M! Maybe this have something to do with it: https://www.rbr.com/rocking-m-moves-forward-with-bankruptcy-reorganization/ ``Rocking M Moves Forward With Bankruptcy Reorganization By Adam Jacobson - March 29, 2022 Three years ago, a family feud of sorts ensued for Doris and Monte Miller. The longtime Kansas-based broadcasters dismissed two family members, son Christopher Miller and grandson Cale Miller, from the company. Then came barbs from Doris and Monte that Christopher Miller had unwisely expanded Rocking M Media‘s holdings to 32 stations between 2008 and 2018, putting the finances in a difficult position. There was also a April 2019 deal that never closed, with Doris and Monte Miller seizing control and taking the stations dark. Today, Doris and Monte Miller are moving forward with a plan designed to ensure the family’s media holdings, which date to the 1880s, continue to generate profit while bringing luster back to a legacy that includes The A.Q. Miller Family School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Kansas State University, named after Monte’s father. Rocking M Media has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection. Update: On May 11, 2022, Rocking M Media filed paperwork with the FCC amending its licensee status to “debtor in possession.”`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Sporadic E FM DX opening from the east, June 12 between 1652 and 1915 but not continuous listening. With OK fringe tropo still up, little to show for it. Full details in next report: 94.3 WRLX Riviera Beach FL; 95.1 WRNS-FM Kinston NC; 100.7 WRDU Rocky Mount NC; and I hope more to be IDed or logged later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, June 12 at 0630, RV with music at S8/S9 on 3 x 3945 reactivated; as Manuel Mendez, Spain, first reported before 0600 on 7260 instead of 5040. ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Saturday June 11 at first check 1423, no signal yet from LRA36 into Bs As remote, nor at 1453 vs S3/S4 noise level on it; and still not at 1500. 1508 checking Campo, Brasil remote; 1510 Brasília is now getting it JBA S1/S2, so back to Bs As where it`s much better, S6/S7. Has just signed on late as often haphazard. 1511 Antártida themesong. 1514 canned ID as ``Radio Arcángel San Gabriel, Base Esperanza, su compañía``, omitting ``Nacional`` unlike all the others, song. 1518 the YL DJs finally come on ``live``, greeting listeners to sexto programa of 2022 season, i.e. the same one we heard on Wednesday. One of the YLs has a noticeably higher-pitched voice. Geo coordinates -- they always mention that. Base was founded on 17 December 1952. Current clima temp was: minus 1 C, warm enough to caminar = walk around outside.
Abruptly cut off air 1522* until cut back on at *1531 during song. 1536 another new? canned ID by OM voice. 1537 efemérides = this week in history including 1980? first TA flight from Bs As to Auckland NZ. Then about Maldivas: not an hour can go by without discussing those islands that Argentina is obsessed with. 1545 song. 1547 canned ID, acknowledging listeners in Italy, Argentina, Colombia. 1551 contact info. Signal is peaking now, VG, so that my fluency with Argentine Spanish rather than reception is the limiting factor. 1553 a bit more Malvinas history. Who would win a referendum among inhabitants, I ask? 1600 music. 1606 canned ID, now fading a bit, repeat temp as minus one. Says today`s = June 8 amanecer was 10:18 local = 1318 UT. Primary meaning of amanecer is sunrise, but could be loosely confused with totally different dawn, really alborada. gaisma.com agrees about 1320 for SR, while sunset would be 1813 UT; she also mentioned SS but could not catch it. 1611 contact info again; 1617 citing significant dates for military or geopolitcal events: 1952, 1954, 1957, 1961, 1964. Signal now S5/S9 caused not by fading but by USB modulation. 1628 mentions ``próximo programa`` so probably about to close, song. 1633 ID and staff list, ``Nacional nos une``, music until cut off at 1635*. Typical clumsy operation. Left it on until 1700 in background, but no more. Nor any sign of an 1800 repeat as alleged, no signal at 1830 check. Once again I lament the lame crutch they employ, citing so much historical info rather than what is going on *now* or recently at Esperanza or other outposts. FWIW, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanza_Base says ``Research projects include: glaciology, seismology, oceanography, coastal ecology, biology, geology, and limnology`` but with no details at all. Gary Pence, Dallas, tells me, ``Hi Glenn, I guess they just went QRT mid song. I was listening thru LU4AA as well. QRT at 1635z. Heard also on KFS Halfmoon Bay, CA. Heard one S unit above an S4 noise floor, best between 1530 and 1600z`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. 9677.526V, June 11 at 0631, RVM with wavering carrier and much weaker than usual, S3/S4 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 9700, June 11 at 0627, surprise! RNZP reactivated and *also* // 11725! Yes, they do have two transmitters but one normally only standby. Certainly not the expected new #3 which may not be ready for service until a year from now. Both are S9+10/20, slightly less selective fading on 11. No sign of Romania in German on 9700, but would have just closed at 0627, clashing until then? Playing song outroed as ``No, No, No``; would that be the Saturday night request show? Nothing about 9700 on RNZP websked (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, June 11 at 0500-0508, UR1 via WRMI, `Ukraine: Security Issue` with YL#1 - they never give their names - for Day 107 of Russia`s war, vs ``invincibility of Ukrainian army``. Russians are trying to find a place to hold a referendum in ``temporarily occupied territories`` but can`t. VG into Maryland SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2142 monitoring: This bit in last report I said 918 only, but meant 1323 only; fixed: WOR 2142 also confirmed June 10 at 2036 the 2030 on AM Italia 1323 only, S9 into Noale. And I should have added: TUC Radio opens with seabird calls; at 1808, 1323 had some intermittent 2-way QRM, likely ham transmitter overloading the Kiwi. Trouble is, most of them are located at ham stations nearby to transmitters. Also later, some ACI from other MW signals on 1314 & 1332. Also confirmed UT Saturday June 11 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9+5/15 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Saturday June 11 from 0359.8 on WBCQ R. Angela, 5130, S9+10/15 to Maryland SDR. Tuned in earlier from 0333, blues music and conversation in English, yet it really is `From the Isle of Music` [Cuba]. Also confirmed Sat June 11 after 1600 on WRN webcast to N America. Next, besides another WRN webbing at 1930: At 1920 15770 is playing world music fill, and 1930 now filled by NC gospel huxter, so we must conclude that WOR airing on WRMI is definitely canceled. (7489.9v), UT Sat June 11 at 0050, tune in WBCQ webcast for `AAAWWW` just as he is concluding a look at Free Radio Weekly with my Oklahoma CB pirate report on 27185v, but he does not go into any usable details. So we know it`s new, as this FRW has just been published. Of the three rotating editors, Harold Frodge is most prompt in getting it out ASAP after the 0000 UT Saturday deadline. At 0053 I quickly check SW frequencies via Maryland remote: besides 7490v, it`s also on 6160v and 5130, but not on 3265 like a biweek ago. 5130 is the ``Radio Angela`` outlet otherwise not starting until *0155. So I wonder what will happen between 01 & 02? Tonight it does stay on with rock music at 0105 & 0128 chex. As UB frequently outpoints, that hour and others beyond the Angela block are for sale. This week, at least, the 7490 webcast cuts AW off for an AW canned ID in order to join Hal Turner on time at 0100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 97.3, June 11 at 1748 UT on caradio bandscanning for possible Es, this relatively open frequency briefly utters ``Q97, 97.3`` --- geez, I already know what frequency I`m tuned to; a true ID with what makes a station unique, like its *callsign* would be more helpful, if not the Facility Number. Uplooked later on WTFDA DB, including various varieties of how to punxuate Q97, comes up with one in E Texas, two in TN, but this must be fringe area from here: KKJQ, Garden City KS, 100 kW ERP, 244 m HAAT (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1938 UT June 11

** CHINA. 18900, June 10 at 0426, JBA carrier; and 18970 Chinese S2/S4. Only activity on this SWBC band, CNR1 jammers against Sound of Hope; in fact the only two listings in EiBi and Aoki. See also UNIDENTIFIED for many more on 17 & 21 MHz bands (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11850, June 10 at 0433, RHC Spanish, S9+30/40 but very suptorted. This transmitter always flanked by plus/minus 10 kHz spur carriers on 11840 & 11860, but now with supersignal fundamental, also detect further multiples of JBA spurs on: 11830 & 11870; and even weaker, 11820 & 11880. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [and non]. 9790, June 10 at 0438, S9+35/50 of dead air except for some hum, atop French direct from RFI, which surges when Cuba fades. 9790 is the CRI relay supposed to be in Cantonese 04-05 after English 03-04. Total failure! Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. Even worse, 9790 can be left on past 0600 as recently (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6165, June 10 at 0443, RHC in wrong language, Spanish instead of English, leaving only 6000 for that. See also UNIDENTIFIED [and non] below (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27184.5, June 10 at 2106 UT, country music on this CB channel, S9+25 steady and obviously local. Now some CBer has graduated to being a SWBC pirate; probably the same one previously blasting 27185v with carriers and tones. 2110 end of song and this turns out to be relay of local KOFM and is //103.1, as YL DJ starts interviewing Dan Schiedel [Shy-dell], exec director of United Way of NW Oklahoma, in Enid. Seems they are promoting a golf tournament. He used to be head of PBS in Oklahoma, OETA; then retired a few years ago, and we were surprised when he wound up in Enid. Still going with music at 2143. There was skip on busy CB channels 27025 & 27085, so KOFM relay may well have been DXable (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Into Maryland SDR: 7730 S9+10/15; 5850 S9+5/20. Also confirmed UT Friday June 10 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, fair but noisy into Missouri SDR. Missed checking Fri June 10 at 1430 on WRMI 9955; anyone hear it? Confirmed Friday June 10 from 1815.4 on IRRS SW via Bulgaria 7290; and AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, no 918 or 207. 7290 fair via NW Ireland SDR; 1323 via nearby Noale SDR, S9; both noisy. Tuned in both earlier: 7290 from 1756 only with Chinese, 1800 timesignal, *1800:52 or so, IRRS cuts on with Feature Story News from Washington, in progress; while 1323 was playing soul music before 1800, then IRRS sign-on and FSN, including Spotlite segment at 1803-1804.5; 1805 more IRRS ID with the PO Box in Milano they otherwise say not to use; and no more News in Brief from the UN. This week it`s the start of TUC Radio, interview with Noam Chomsky about Ukraine, chopped off at 1815 for IRRS ID and then WOR. I am humbled by IRRS demonstrating that what I have to say is more important than Noam. Busy, I don`t track whether WOR play to completion at 1844, but it usually does unlike the filler fragments before and after. [TUC Radio deserves a full slot of its own. A long-running US leftish show, stands for Time of Useful Consciousness. Read all about where that comes from, linx to podcasts including the Noam episode originally May 24: https://tucradio.org/ IIRC, it used to be on RFPI in Costa Rica, but I think not on WRMI or WBCQ, let alone 100% far-right gospel huxter stations. TUC emphasizes it`s *free* via Pacifica among other sources -- gh] [As for FSN, I`m not sure I get their business model: lots of bureaux around the world but costs stations only $ 15 a month to get it: https://www.featurestorynews.com/ -- gh] WOR 2142 also confirmed June 10 at 2036 the 2030 on AM Italia 918 only, S9 into Noale. ** AUSTRALIA. After finding no activity on higher hambands, Es or F2, finally, this OSOB: 18140 USB, June 8 at 2128-2138, VK4SX making N American contacts, mostly unheard but one calls him Dennis, and eventually put together infrequent IDs as VK4SX. QRZ.com:
VK4SX Australia flag Australia Dennis.A. EDEY NO QSL NO QSL AT ALL Bundaberg, QL 4670 Australia Nor does he wish to be spotted. That`s just south of Cairns on the NE coast of Queensland, tenth-largest city in the state. WORLD OF RADIO 2141 monitoring: not confirmed Wed June 8 at 2100:21 on WBCQ 7489.9v since it`s a JBA carrier direct, can`t even recognize my voice let alone confirm correct episode; and the computer for closer remote or streamcheck is out of reach right now. Did anyone hear it? Yet the flat-earth crap on 9330 is S9+22 in English. Despite huge disparity in power and gain, the puny Classic transmitter might have a chance of audibility if it were on 9 MHz or higher in the daytime, above summerdaytime lower-band absorption. Confirmed UT Thursday June 9 at 0030 on WRMIs: 9395 S9+10/20 but stormy into Missouri SDR; and also 9455, S9+5/15.
