Thursday, June 02 2022
** BRAZIL. 9666.7, June 2 at 0003, RVM with martial gospel music, S7/S8; not measured precisely but obviously back below instead of above 9667 where had been for several days (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [and non]. 11775, June 2 at 0008, pulse jamming vs a JBA carrier. Never a Martí here, nor Caribbean Beacon, Anguilla, as Aoki still imagines: rather only thing besides Dengê Welat at other hours is CNR1 jamming and Sound of Hope on 11774.8 per EiBi. So the CubaCom are helping out the ChiCom, ha (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6000, June 2 at 0012, S7/S8 of dead air in English, but achieves undermodulation on 6165, S7/S9+20. 5990, the CRI relay has very undermodulated music at S7/S9+20. Something`s always wrong at RHC, RadioCuba. The other side: ``READ TODAY THE CUBA OF TOMORROW 'Enough excuses. This is no way to live, or work' Cubans blow up over the blackouts --- The Ministry of Energy and Mines warns Cubans that 'the electric service will continue to be affected in the coming days'. DDC | La Habana May 31, 2022 ELECTRICITY Felton Thermoelectric Plant, in Holguín. Juan Pablo Carreras (Unión Eléctrica/ Facebook) [caption] The state-owned Unión Eléctrica (UNE) called the situation facing the National Electric Service ?complex,? while on social media Cubans are venting their weariness with the ongoing blackouts they constantly suffer, which worsened this week after the shutdown of several generation units...`` https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1653928851_39858.html But supreme priority jamming against nothing unabates. However, some RHC broadcast frequencies have been unusually weak lately (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 255 MCW kHz, June 2 at 0020, SW, Stillwater NDB seems off again --- no, it`s JJBBA in storm noise, almost imagination level (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A. 6878.5 USB, June 2 at 0000, MARS net introducing a digital message. 0015, ``6DB`` is asked to make a net call in which he gives his full call fonetikaly, AAR6DB. I run across this after finding no pirates on the 6.9 MHz band. I made a much more detailed log of Army MARS on 6878.5, at the same hour on May 26, 2000, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2140 monitoring: confirmed UT Thursday June 2 at 0030 on WRMIs: 9395 & 9455 both VP in local noise level, S5/S7 into Missouri SDR; but both VG into Knoxville SDR, S9+15/25 on 9395, S9+5/15 on 9455. Also confirmed UT Thursday June 2 at 0130 on WRMIs: 9395 S9+15/25 into Knoxville; 5010 S9/+15 into Bonaire. New WOR 2141 should be ready early UT Fri June 3 for first broadcasts at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7730. Or via http://www.worldofradio.com/audiomid.html Also linx to podcast services (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7489.9v, UT Thu June 2 at 0017, WBCQ with `Cruisin` the Decades`, originating with The Summit, in Akron, surprised to hear here rather than WRMI. In fact, totally contradicts WBCQ websked: ``7490 We 2300 0030 UTC We 07:00PM 08:30PM EST [sic] Just Right 7490 Th 0030 0100 UTC We 08:30PM 09:00PM EST [sic] Americana Music Program``. WRMI program page about one-hour show linx to WAPS: https://thesummit.fm/about/program-schedule/ where there is absolutely nothing about Cruisin`, other than a generic airshift M-F 3-7 pm ET by Brad Savage (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9975, June 2 at 0007, no signal from KVOH even tho WWCR finished with 9980 at 0000. O, I see on KVOH sked that altho Spanish starts at 0000 except UT Mondays, it`s streaming only until English starts SW at 0100; strange. BTW, WWCR normally makes some schedule adjustments on June 1, but website https://www.wwcr.com/transmitter-sched.html still does not show a new schedule after May 31 expiration! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5970, June 2 at 0010, WEWN must have fixed its night Spanish transmitter, now back on air after a few weeks - S9+20 with call-in, discussing gas prices, Juan Carlos. Not exactly RCC liturgical stuff, but anchorette frequently exclaims ``gracias a dios`` so projects piety. English, longer gone from 9385 at night, is still absent at 0152 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5985, Thursday June 2 at 0605, open carrier. Nothing scheduled; best guess is WRMI-2 on air for some reason despite extremely reduced schedule: on transmitter grid it`s Monday only at 0500-0600 with System F but yellow instead of red. On System F grid in red it`s ``Yeshua Messiah Min.`` 5985 also appears as System K in green at 0400-0430 NHK in Spanish, which is long gone. In Aoki, 5985 at 0500-0600 UT same for UT Monday but also UT Sunday with `La Rosa de Tokio`. EiBi Shows `LRT` Sunday only, Argentina non; but also has not expunged deleted 0330-0500 5985 entries (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1903 UT June 2

** GREECE [and non]. 9420.002, June 1 at 1549, VOG still going after latest closure date as they got a 2-week reprieve, VG S9+30/35 into UTwente with music; 1559:15 ID during which CCCCI is audible: both CNR6 and CNR15 are scheduled overlapping with widely divergent targets, Taiwan and Xinjiang. Another hour of Greek music interspersed with a lot of conversation making it less attractive to non-Hellenix. 1659.15 ERT IS plays again but soon off at 1700* uncovering CNR13 Uighur playing some classical music with same +002 Hz carrier offset. Now this weaker signal is more subject to ACI from 9425 VOK, maybe even 2ACI from 9410 CRI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, June 1 at 0336, Station YHWH good into northern Utah SDR, tnx tip from Eric Fetters-Walp in WA on the WOR iog; Josiah Elias has been active almost every night lately, but I myself had not been checking. Usual rants anti-Christ, the ``god-man hybrid``, anti-Catholic = homosexuals and pedophiles; the one true god Yahweh will soon establish a worldwide theocracy: no, tnx! Carrier offset only -006 Hz: he`s frequencily very accurate. 0403 live timecheck for 9:04 pm Pacific. 0409 playing his ``Days of Hard Life`` themesong, about to close down? No, resumes rant, but gone by 0421 next check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2140 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees, Dear Glenn: World of Radio, monitoring and confirming the latest for #2140, WRMI, 5850, 0158, Static, heavy noise, 0159, May 27 UTC 2022 [Fri] 9395, static noise, 0130, 0144, 0157 (45333), 0159, May 28 [Sat] 9395, 0030, 0058 (45432), 9455, 0037, 0038, 0044, 0059 S7 signal, 0059, 9395 kHz, May 31 [Tue] 9955, S5 signal barely heard voice, 2258, May 31 [Tue] 5850, late start slept a little longer, 1042, 1055 (55433), 1059, June 1 UTC 2022 [Wed] (Lemke, Richard -AB) Good listening, Richard, June 1, 2022`` Confirmed Tuesday May 31 at 2236 the 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+10 and no Cuban jamming audible, but it is and building by 2254 prior to 2300 R. Libertad. Also confirmed Tuesday May 31 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+25 into Knoxville SDR. Also confirmed Wednesday June 1 at 2100+ on WBCQ 7490 minus 70 Hz = 7489.930 into Maryland SDR, S9/S8 with storm crashes. [Also confirmed UT Thursday June 2 at 0030 on WRMIs 9395 & 9455, both VP in high noise level at Missouri SDR but VG at Knoxville. One more repeat to be at 0130 on WRMIs 5010 & 9395] Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, thanks this week to Sandip Nambiar, EI7IJB, ``To support GH’s excellent World of Radio programme. Thank you`` via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com Or by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 Next new WOR 2141 should be ready early UT Friday June 3 at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7730 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, May 31 at 2102, WRMI at S7/S9 direct of dead air. Something`s odd at Okeechobee. Fortunately by a sesquihour later it`s OK for WOR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, May 31 at 2053 UT, KLEY Wellington has resumed modulating, rock music after last check yesterday dead air. Now also suffering from storm crashes. And still modulating 24+ hours later (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9840.37 LSB, June 1 at 0557, 2-way in Spanish, with engine noise, airplane? Tuesday, May 31 2022
** CANADA. 3330 & 7850, May 31 at 0640, revived CHU is *still* announcing time *two hours slow* as ``4h,40m``, almost 16 hours after turned back on. At 1450, both 7850 & 14670 RCUSB too weak to copy direct. But at 1524 into Ottawa SDR, finally correct. As far as I could tell, however, the minute markers stayed correct and precise, so that`s something. Meanwhile, Richard Langley, NB, reports to the WOR iog, May 31 at 1104:
``Just got this message from the NRC technical officer after reporting the announced time error yesterday and asking about the off-air reason: "Thank you for this, don't know why the time was 2 hours off. It is fixed now. The antennas were fine. The problem was the generator failed for a long time so everything shut down. Then we were not allowed access to the site until yesterday, they just opened the road where CHU is located this morning."`` And confirmed correct hour being announced monitoring 7850 kHz here in NB about 30 minutes ago (around 11:45 UTC). -- Richard Langley`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 15034 USB, May 31 at 1455, CHR Trenton Military, still nothing but ``no report received`` from: Calgary, Cold Lake, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and repeated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, May 31 at 2214, RHC is S9 but JBM, barely recognizable as scheduled French. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6060, May 31 at 0633, this is the only RHC English frequency remaining, S7/S9 but barely modulated and unusable; still below some hum but no buzz. Something`s always wrong at RHC. And it`s even weaker than 1-kW 6070 CFRX at S9+10 and amply modulated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. From June NZ DX Times: ``1640 KZLS Enid OK ident as “1640 and 1390, the New CTB Fox Sports.” “CTB” refers to ‘Chisholm Trail Broadcasting Company. (Matt Todd-OK via NRC)`` Ha, I avoid my locals so much that this was news to me. Indeed, KCRC 1390 // 1640 May 31 at 0430 during stupid BB game. 11:30 pm local, multi-inning, or western timezone? 1640 is running about 2 seconds behind 1390. Why bother such duplication? Well, 1640 gets into OKC day and night, not 1390. Inside Enid, 1390 is stronger. A few weeks ago, the far-right ``Eagle`` talk format on 1640 KZLS replaced Bob music or whatever it was on co-owned 96.9, and they were running //. 96.9 KQOB ID only as ``The New Eagle, 96.9``, no mention of 1640, May 31 at 0430 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, May 30 at 2200, token English from REE previewed as something from Beirut, and author about power, smax of rerun, so I listen only to the initial news (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, May 31 at 0500-0506, YP1 via WRMI with `Ukraine: Security Issue`, tonight by the too-fast-talking guy. Not so good into Missouri SDR I happen to have running to the NW of FL, rather than the usual Maryland one onbeam to the NE (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2140 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday May 31 at 0030 on WRMIs into Missouri SDR; 9395 S9+5/10, 9455 S9+15/20. More treble in the 9395 modulation. Next: 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, thanks this week to Sandip Nambiar, EI7IJB, ``To support GH’s excellent World of Radio programme. Thank you`` via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com Or by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, May 31 at 1947 late tune in to WRMI, world music fill already playing instead of VOA `Flashpoint: Ukraine`. Did it at least start airing today? Also chopped short yesterday and May 24, at least as I have not tried every day (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, May 30 at 2220 UT, KLEY Wellington KS still providing zero modulation. Had been dead air May 13-16 after a spell of sounds, but not rechecked lately (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5970, May 31 at 0632, DRM-like noise again and now covering 5965-5975 tho weakly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2044 UT May 31

WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST Update
Hi Glenn, My latest Hitlist update. https://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm 1) Belgium - R Onda: Direct link to R Onda live stream no longer works, updated link to the home page where a live stream link is accessible 2) USA - VOA: Updated link to VOA frequency page, although the freqs shown are currently sadly out of date (thanks to Bill, WE7W, in WOR iog mail list); Updated all other links to VOA webpages following changes to website and new VOA Africa website. 3) USA - WBCQ: Removed reference to discontinued Area 61; added link to WBCQ 'R Angela' program schedule The next update is scheduled for late July Best wishes and 73, Alan Roe, UK ** AUSTRALIA. 10129 USB, May 30 at 0555, hamnet of ragchewers on Aussie-only 30-m phone band. Besides weakness, very hard to ID as they seldom do so knowing each other well, let alone clearly or fonetikaly. 10129 is favorite frequency but also have heard some on 10124 USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 15034 USB, May 29 at 2219, Trenton Military with ``No Report Received`` from: Trenton itself!, Ottawa, Toronto, Bagotville, and keeps repeating same list at least twice more. 15034 USB, May 30 at 1442, still nothing but ``No Report Received`` from: Shannon, Prestwick, Keflavik, Lajes. Those would have been terminal forecasts; at 1443, different sequence of aviation weather also NRR: Shearwater, Greenwood, Gander, Halifax, and also repeating. ID and time as 1440Z --- only 3 minutes slow rather than 60+ sometimes and than CHU, *two hours slow* --- come on, Canada, you can do better (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 3330 & 7850 & 14670, May 30 at 1551 UT, CHU is back on all channels, but needs a little more work: Timechex are two hours slow!! As 1351, and still at 1600 as if it were 1400. Ditto past 1700, at 1748 as if ``1548``. At 1808 as ``16h08m``. At 1954 UT as ``17h54m``. The English & French announcers must be in cahoots as both are doing it. Obviously, no one is paying attention! Anyone relying on this will be 2:00 hours late to do whatever. Tnx to Don Moman and Joe Caberlin who noted it was back by 1500 UT. It had crashed at 2000 UT May 21 due to storms and power outages; occasionally there were carriers but no regular service for almost 9 days of no time for Canada. BTW, on the SDR originally running in LSB, CHU could be heard but louder via USB. Is this a transmission or reception defect? It`s supposed to be reduced-carrier upper sideband (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 13530, May 30 at 1437, CNR1 jammer poor, 15920 JBA. At 1448 further typical SOH/CNR1s detected on 13020, 13130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6000, UT Monday May 30 at 0441, RHC is S9 but JBM in presumed English. 6060 is S9/+10 of humbuzz obscuring Spanish; 6100 not on yet; 6165, S9/+20 sufficient in English, mailbag as ``Ed Newman`` gives email address. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9440, May 29 at 2217, S4/S5 direct chanting from R. Cairo and seems undermodulated. On my other rx and antenna at 2235 it`s JBA. But at 2239 into UTwente, S9+35/40 and extremely distorted English. Something`s always egregious in Egypt. My previous report with precise frequency 9439.995 was misquoted as ``9439`` in the May NASWA Journal, as the log editor simply deletes any numbers after the decimal some of us go to so much trouble to report precisely! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 11725, May 30 at 0601, RNZP starting BBCWS news relay by the deep-voiced Neil Nunes from Jamaica --- VG signal, the best we can get BBC since they dispensed with N America on SW. 0606 into BBCWS Newsday. Ironically, NZ is not really for us either. See also UNIDENTIFIED 13840 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. May 29 at 2210 UT, all four of our regular ND beacons are confirmed active: 255 SW Stillwater, 341 EI Enid, 350 RG OKC, 515 PN Ponca City, vs high line noise levels. RG had not been audible for a few days (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K [non]. 12025, May 30 at 1502, BBCWS news in English at S8/S9 but vs high noise level here. Not a familiar BBC channel, but listed as Kranji/SINGAPORE at 1500-1900, also 0000-0030 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 10000, May 30 at 1504, WWV is still making a special announcement during this minute ever hour leading to: https://www.hamsci.org/wwv See what you make of it. By now they had moved on to another event April 30-May 1, also quite passé. A few sweeps were heard at 1608 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2140 monitoring: confirmed Sunday May 29 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia, Villa Estense, 1323 kHz, S9+3 into nearby Noale SDR; too much noise on 918 to be sure whether also on there, maybe a trace; and not on 207 kHz. 1323 JBA into UTwente across Europe. Also confirmed Sunday May 29 at 2230 on WRMI 5950 despite replaced by something else on websked a couple months ago, JBA direct in full summer day path, but S9 into Georgia SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday May 29 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+15/20 into Virginia SDR which is way offbeam from 222 degrees, but a lot better than I can get 7780 direct perpendicularly. Also confirmed UT Monday May 30 at 0130 on WRN N America webcast. Also confirmed UT Monday May 30 starting at 0309.3 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6159.941, S9/+5 into Maryland SDR, and played to completion 0338 when HRI starts with a bit of overlap. Delayed start as JL admitted he was ``running late`` past 0300. Modulation sounds a bit rough and of course narrow AM or LSB or SAL required to minimize 6165 Cuba splash, which WBCQ is doing nothing about. Next: 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated, thanks this week to Sandip Nambiar, EI7IJB, ``To support GH’s excellent World of Radio programme. Thank you`` via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com Or by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5950, May 29 at 2317, gospel huxter on WRMI with Athens GA SDR still tuned here after WOR, finds it keeps cutting off air for a few seconds: or rather WRMI is OK, but Athens is acting up as there are no such interruptions when I switch to Knoxville. And Athens waterfall shows entire bandwidth interrupted (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15770, May 30 at 1935 semi-listening to `Flashpoint: Ukraine`` from VOA via WRMI, fair into UTwente, when at 1952 suddenly cuts to fill music; same thing has happened before, program interrupted somewhere along the line starting with Washington. BTW, R. Svoboda relay on 9370 is still absent this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5970, May 30 at 0439, weak DRM-sounding noise intermittently but not 10 kHz wide; in continued absence of WEWN, or could it be WEWN attempting to resume? What else? Aoki shows Brasil and Denmark both 24 hours on 5970 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 13840, May 30 at tune-in, big open carrier slightly off-frequency goes off right away at 0550*. Could be NZ as 11725 not yet on? But VG SSOB S9+10/20 on 15720 with `Checkpoint`. Or testing backup transmitter? 13840 in Aoki is also a CNR1 jammer/SOH channel, but doubt that now. Current RNZP sked shows 0558/0559 switch from 15720 to 11725, while 13840 is never in AM, only DRM at 1951-2058 except Saturdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2004 UT May 30
