** CUBA. 11760, Dec 6 at 1535, RHC music audio cutting out
intermittently // much weaker 15140; lyric ``no quiero`` repeating.
1538 ID inviting contacts to musica@rhc.icrt.cu for `Sonido Cubano`
program. Had not noted such an email before rather than usual enet or
etecsa. On their website I cannot find any email address displayed.

** MALDIVES [non]. 11620, Dec 6 at 1526, secular-sounding song,
S9/+20, 1529.5 very quick English saying you can now hear us at
vomkorea.com and off at 1530* sharp. It`s the mostly-Dhivehi service
which habitually puts in such a good signal here on the opposite
worldside of the target, from secret site believed probably to be
RBAustralia. I had not checked this 1500 broadcast for quite a while.
Website converts to https://vomkorea.com/en/ which implies in English,
but really mostly Korean, and no Maldives mentioned on homepage -
unless it`s in Korean! Internal site searching does lead to several
stories in English about it:

It seems that Christians are persecuted, prosecuted there. Does VOMK/M
encourage them to stay underground or seek martyrdom? They should be
wary of anything with Martyrs in its name. This explains the situation:

** TURKEY [non]. 5960.000, Dec 6 at 2324, no signal from VOT into
UTwente, ceding the frequency to XJPBS in Chinese(?), from East
Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and
other Moslems. As soon as I saw the exact frequency before hearing it,
I figured it could not be Turkey. Something`s erroneous at Emirler

into way offbeam UTwente.

Wed Dec 6 at 1504, I check 9955 to note whether WRMI be on the air or
not: indeed, is on air, with surprise airing of WOR 2219! Skedgrid
still shows `Frecuencia al Día` instead; so unknown whether a one-time
error or deliberate. WOR does appear on sked Thursday at 1500, need to
recheck as that seemed to have been canceled. 9955 stays on after 1530
with utterly pointless RAE multi-lingual ID reel over and over past
1541, presumably entire semihour, instead of RAE French scheduled M-F.
Off after 1600.

WOR 2219 also confirmed Wednesday December 6 at 2200 on WBCQ 7490
minus 86 Hz = 7489.914, S7/S9 into NH SDR; after two weeks of dead air
instead. Just before 2200 I think I heard Pirate Joe say he would no
longer be on SW/WBCQ after Dec 31. Is that correct? Next:

of another WRMI, but the modpeax continue to match 9455 during the
only Fámily Radio hour in Spanish. Something`s outoforder at

** U S A. 1590, Dec 6 at 0751 UT, ballad in Spanish, break for ID as
``Ambiente Clásico Radio``, another tune. What?? NRC AM Log has
several USSS on 1590, but no such slogan. Nor anything fits in
exhaustive IRCA Mexican Log. Google search finds immediately, a story
from late Aug after the NRC AM Log deadline and printing:

It`s the new format and ownership of WCGO, Evanston IL, which had been
Korean, 10/2.5 kW. Radio-locator still shows yet another outdated
format, ``Chicago`s News Talk``. Ambiente was already reported by
IRCAns in September. Nitetime coverage map has a notch thisaway to its
SW, major lobe northwards:

** SPAIN. 9690, Dec 5 at 2318, REE already back on air after
publicized outage starting Dec 4 for work at the Noblejas power
station. Almost passes for Castilian, but it`s really Sefardí as sked
this semihour Tuesdays. S9+30, also on // in ascending frequency
order, descending strength: 12030, 17715, 17755 (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** SWAZILAND. 11660, Dec 5 at 1628, TWR tinkling music-box IS and IDs
as from eSwátini, S4/S5 with flutter, probably longpath. HFCC says
Amharic/Oromo at 1630-1700 on 13 degree beam (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.005, Dec 5 at 2320, VOT detectable direct, S9+10 on
generous meter but JBA, between occasional local noise bursts of
S9+40. S9+35/40 into UTwente, 2347 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, and
multi-lingual ID filler reel, 2349 song. 2352 ``with-you every hour``
promo and s/off, this time with correct! UTs and B23 frequencies! But
incomplete, ignoring this very broadcast. 2353 IS starts; 2356
restarts with German IDs twice-minutely. Dec 6, 0000 almost accurate
timesignal and s/on extraneous German; right into Nachrichten, uses
same stingers/liners as English. 0009 Tuerkische Presseschau; 0011
``mit Ihnen alle Stunden`` promo, Musik. 0015 multi-lingual ID filler

aiming. Again, no noise blast ute QRM spoiler audible during first 14
seconds; that over & done with?

** U S A. Greg Hardison has the answer to my quandary over VA vs GA on
1690:
"... 1690 is 'WMLB-AM` Atlanta ..." - WMLB is owned these days by some
r/wing reactionary in Virginia, same owner of WJFN/820 in Chester and
of late, WJFP/740 also in Chester, the one just outside of Philly,
along with possibly one or two others in the mid-Atlantic area. I've
seen indications in the past that all of the above are programmed out
of the Hub at WJFN, including local mid-Virginia sponsors and
references. Cheaper that way; saved overhead=more money left to give
to trump. My own funds say that you indeed did receive WMLB, on 1690,

in addition to the WI5V roster and the QRZ.com website. Although there
are many more NDB receptions being added to this database daily,
there’s a small group of us who have contributed our 10m receptions to

** U S A. 1540, Dec 4 at 0803 UT, (479) area code ad for something in
Scranton, -- what?? ``True Country``, weather info, then ``Real
Country``. Not Pennsylvania, but Arkansas. As in NRC AM Log, it`s
KLYR, Ozark AR, as ``True Country``. Ozark is east of Ft Smith on I40,
Scranton further and off I40 to the south. 479 is NW Arkansas. Not bad
for one watt! Could it possibly be on 500 watt day power? (Glenn

** U S A. 1690, Dec 4 at 0805? UT, Virginia references, ``the
Commonwealth``, into `Red Eye Radio`, i.e. WPTX Lexington Park,
Maryland, address in Mechanicsville, both of which are in SW MD, quite
close to VA partially in coverage area; 10/1 kW, but NRC AM Log does
not show it with RER, rather AC/EZL format. Per that the only RER on
1690 is WMLB in GA. IL or CO are the regular 1690s heard here. Nicely
displaying RER affiliate list at

agrees that its only 1690 is ``WMLB-AM`` Atlanta -- and every single
MW station is shown with an ``-AM`` suffix, which is nonsense! There
was no sign of two stations mixing, and I can`t imagine a Georgian

Marylandish. The VA refs I thought were local, just before rejoining
RER. Schedule at https://1690wptx.com/schedule is not very helpful,
nothing but ``regular programming`` 24/7!! Now I`m wondering if
