Hauser
** AUSTRALIA [non]. 13755, Nov 25 at 0805, S6/S9 talk in Pidgin often
mentioning Port Moresby, the SSOB by far with only a few JBA carriers
elsewhere on band; 0814 ID as Radio Australia - but we know this is
really an RNZP relay. Its frequencies are usually slightly askew so I
bother to measure this one: 13755.016 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [non]. 5010 // 5800, Fri Nov 25 at 0557, WRMI with R.
República on both, closing announcement partially missed but says on
5010, not 5800; also now at 11 pm-midnight [EST = 04-05 UT] LMJSD =
MTTSS local days on 670 La Poderosa! Sounded like 660 but
sesenta/setenta very hard to distinguish, as this must be WWFE, Miami,
U4 50/1 kW, which at night power has zero chance of being heard in
Cuba vs 15 Rebelde transmitters all over the island, and one
Enciclopedia per WRTH. But: still no jamming heard on either SW
frequency, unlike 9955 with other exile shows, and 9490 RR via France
starting at 0100, frequency which BTW, I omit on WOR 2166. What`s the
Frequency, Glenneth? Not tuned in early enough to tell whether this
extension still be about nothing but derechos de trabajo (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 10050, Nov 25 at 0757, suptorted music at S9+10, 0759 Spanish
about Cuba, sounder, brief news. Now tuned up on second harmonic
rather than fundamental is R. Rebelde instead of 10080 = 2 x 5040
RHC!! Already at 0736 I had a JBA carrier on 5025 about as weak as
5020 Solomons: that would be Rebelde remnant exciter only. Just to be
certain, I make 10050 // MW 710 amid the USQRM at 0804. 10050 is
causing severe QRM to Gander VOLMET on 10051-USB! but somewhat
separable with USB tuning. It IDs and is ``out`` at 0800 for now.
Something`s horribly wrong at RadioCuba. At least I hear nothing on X3
= 15075 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6165, Nov 25 at 0741, S9/+10 of dead air in English from RHC
where something`s always wrong (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846, Nov 25 at 0730, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati,
while no other 9 kHz splits audible, TP nor TA (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** KOREA NORTH. 7580, Nov 25 at 0744, S5/S7 classical piano music.
It`s VOK Japanese service at 07-13 per EiBi -- so is not 100% bad!
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 4025 USB, Nov 25 at 0735 UT, unID pirate with S9 of
hard rock. 4+ MHz is a secondary pirate band to 7- MHz, but I seldom
hear one, and this is way late out of prime time. Zero recent reports
of anything anywhen on 4025 in HF Underground (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. 5845, Nov 25 at 1537, fair signal in Korean. It`s BBC
via Tinang, PHILIPPINES USAGM, likely on that 21 degree beam which
carries right on into deep North America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 2097.3 kHz CW, Nov 25 at 0732 UT, single letter beacon A,
sent every dekasecond, JBA in noise level, from anywhere but
Quartzsite AZ. BTW, the high local `line` noise level here on LW, MW
and SW is only bound to get worse until Epiphany tho I`ve yet to see
any Xmas lighting in the immediate neighborhood (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A.. 13563.5 CW, Nov 25 at 1655, JBA beacon vs CODAR, finally
copied as PCO, occasionally a dash among many repetitions. LWCA shows:
``13563.49~ PCO Pine, CO DM79ij CW (h,r 2022/10)``

No Pine, but Pine Grove? between Castle Rock and Fairplay, SW of
Denver, in Rand McNally Large Scale Road Atlas, 2013

Wikipedia: ``Pine is an unincorporated community and a U.S. Post
Office in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The Pine Post
Office has the ZIP Code 80470.[1] The town is also called Pine Grove.
Every summer the residents hold the annual Rhubarb Festival.[2]``

It`s been months since I`ve logged any beacon in the 13550-13570 ISM
band, not even my most ``regular``, K6FRC. Never heard PCO before.
Distancefromto first tries Queensland coast. I think not. Spelling out
Pine or Pine Grove, Colorado, it finds one just north of Colorado
Springs, far-right far-Christian anti-gay hotspot, not the same. I`d
say PCO is a bit under 500 miles (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2166 monitoring:
{Note corrected numbering: last week 2165, this week 2166 not 2167!}

Confirmed first SWBC, UT Friday November 25 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, with
self-imposed noise burst immediately for 10+ seconds!! Otherwise S9+10
into Missouri SDR but noisy; closest minor storms are off SE Texas and
Mississippi Gulf coast.

Also confirmed NEW time of 0830 UT Friday November 25, as first
reported last week on 5010 by Wolfgang Bueschel:

``Hi Glenn, I can confirm World of Radio new airing at 0830 Friday on
5010, 5850 and 7780. All audible on various US SDRs. 73s Dave`` Kenny

``Dear Glenn: I wasn`t sleeping that well on Nov 25 UTC. I got up and
hearing 5850 kHz playing World of Radio #2166 now. Signal was
excellent (55434) some static QRN, at 0830-0859 UTC, one in a million
check again next week, Richard`` Lemke, Alberta.

``Glenn - On Nov 25 (Friday), tuned into 5850 (WRMI), at 0848 UT,
expecting to hear the usual weekly (0800-0900) recorded diatribe of
the late Tony Alamo, but instead a Thanksgiving gift! Heard your voice
instead with WOR 2166, with good reception and // 5010 (poor) and
didn't check 7780. So a miracle has happened, you have replaced Tony
Alamo! What is now happening on 5850 from 0800-0830? Ron, California``
Howard.

Tnx for the chex! I certainly expected to be sound asleep by 0830, but
awake due to circumstances beyond my control. So I also hear me direct
at 0830 on all three frequencies. Tune in at 0828, Spanish music
already // 5010 5850 7780; 0829 switch to gospel tune in English; no
ID break, 0830 start WOR. 5010 is S9+10 but noisy; 7780 S7/S8; 5850
S9+30 aimed NW right at us.

Also confirmed Friday November 25 at 1537 the 1530 on WRMI 9955,
S9/+10 direct, no jamming audible. Next:

** U S A. 4840, Nov 25 at 0737, WWCR does it again: S9+30 of dead air;
also a suspicious buzz 4854-4860 might be out of this but no match on
minus side. Something`s wacko at WWCR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5931 & 5939 approx., Nov 25 at 0739, spurs out of S9+30 PMS
on WWCR 5935 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1240 kHz, Nov 25 at 0825 UT, bandscan finds one signal
briefly atop the pileup with weather, studio address in Nevada [the
middle A is long; I have roots there], Missouri, ``97.5 FM Double-K
Country``. So it`s KNEM as in NRC AM Log with only 500/500 watts
unlike most kilowatt graveyards, and nothing there about any FM. WTFDA
FM db shows 97.5 is KNMO-FM, 6/6 kW Double-K Country, but no connexion
to 1240. But there is another Double-K Country on 99.9, K260DP which
does relay KNEM 1240. Figure that out? It`s probably my 4th-closest
1240, in a first-adjacent state, after all, 351 km = 218 miles away,
but I can`t find any previous log of it. The NRC record is held by
Wayne Heinen, Aurora CO at 573 miles. Soon back into the mush but some
station was resuming `After Hours` which is CBS Sports Radio. If this
were an ESPN on 1240, a nearer station also has a 97.5 translator, KFH
Wichita KS (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7890, Nov 25 at 0746, JBA carrier from R. Vanuatu, 2 x
3945; while 11835, 3 x 3945, finally attains JBA, i.e. modulation
audible more than just a carrier, S1/S3 of YL talk (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CHINA. 9155 & 9255, Nov 24 at 0744, S2/S4 in Chinese, no doubt CNR1
jammers of Sound of Hope. I also note JBA carriers here at various
other times (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6165, Nov 24 at 0759, for a change, only this RHC English is
still on, S9+10, leading in to 0800 news. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 7260, Nov 24 at 0746, JBA carrier; can`t be Vanuatu
which has already gone to 3945 for harmonix; EiBi shows only PBS
Xinjiang, Urumqi, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs
and other Moslems; Mandarin service at 23-18; and CRI also there
before and after 23. One can only safely assume it be Vanuatu if it go
off at 0659*. At that time it could otherwise be on 5040 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13755, Nov 24 at 0735, RNZP but a JBA carrier from 100
kW station, just like Vanuatu harmonix on 11835, 7890 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Nov 24 at 0745, S7/S9 open carrier, presumed VON
failing again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2166 monitoring: confirmed UT
Thursday November 24 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S7/S9 but noisy at Maryland
SDR; also S7/S9 on 5010 but sounds weaker. Into Bonaire SDR, 5010 is
S9/+10.

WORLD OF RADIO 2167 contents: Antarctica, Australia, (Bangladesh),

** VANUATU. 7890 & 11835, Nov 24 at 0735, JBA carriers from R. Vanuatu
harmonix of 3945 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7731 CW, Nov 24 at 0747, in the still total absence of
WRMI, JBA Morse code, brief transmissions ending in K, but can`t copy
ID nor do they sound exactly repetitive like a marker. Consensus of 5
hits from 2019 to 2021 in UDXF iog is: Russian military, a QSX
frequency sent on others (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9380.427, Nov 24 at 0742, JBA carrier with fading. No
idea what, no broadcaster listed now on 9380 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9490, Nov 24 at 0740, open carrier S7/S9. Only thing
listed now is PBS Xizang/Tibet, surely not that. Maybe test from
ISSoudun, France? Which Wolfgang Bueschel says has replaced a
defective off-frequency transmitter for the R. República relays much
earlier? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Wed Nov 23, I am awake and booted by
1500 to usual Argentine KiwiSDR, joining overhearers in Essen,
Florence, to find LRA36, S5/S7 in progress with song, repeating lyric
``Puedo``. 1502 sign/on, multilingual ID, staff list; 1503 themesong;
1507 recitation - always a short scripted piece; 1510 song; 1513 ID
and live YLs with 32nd program of the season, references to fútbol and
mundial - can`t escape these stupid ballgames. 1518 temp is 1 degree;
it`s not dark at midnite; 1519 contact info; 1521 song about Mundial;
but chopped off air at 1522*! I keep listening to noise just in case
until 1555.

Believe it or not, I have never tried to hear their webcast, but after
breakfast, via the WOR Hitlist, I bring it up at 1558:
https://vmf.edge-apps.net/embed/live.php?streamname=sc_rad32-100131&autoplay=true
and there they are, still going, so to them I guess it matters little
whether the SW dumps off or not. Historical talk; 1614 mentions the
33rd program will be next Wednesday; 1615 a Ricky Martin song; 1620
staff-list, = sign/off, ``nos une`` ID and off/pause. 1621 switch to
some other station/audio with rock music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 2749 USB, Nov 23 at 2321, marine weather in French, VP S3;
also sounds same on 2598 USB, which is JBA so can`t make a match for
sure. Dxinfocentre.com shows both starting at 2317:
2749, VCN, Escoumins, FF/EE, 600 watts
2598, VBQ-22, Natashquan (Escoumins), FF/EE, 600 watts. I guess the ()
means it relays Escoumins. E is in PQ on the north shore of
St-Laurent; So is N, much further east (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13809, Nov 23 at 2319, very weak scratching is all that RHC
13740 AM can muster as a spurblob, 69 kHz above, and even less of a
trace circa 13670. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Nov 23 at 0709, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati,
noticeably stronger than its TA companions 837, 855 et al., from
Spain. I file this under the individual island name, but IRCA has
accepted my contention that it should be separate from Tarawa, two
timezones away; from IRCA DX Monitor Nov 26, published Nov 21:

``IRCA Countries List 2022
Kiribati (formerly Gilbert Islands) [OC] – includes Tarawa
Kiribati, Eastern (aka Line Islands) [OC] – far enough from Tarawa to
count as a separate country, Kiritimati-846 activated in early 2018``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930 USB, Nov 23 at 2313 at first sounds like SSTV,
then like turkey-gobbling, mixture of music, talk and gobbling. 2323
more of same, S9; 2346 recheck now with a strange drama with a witchy
voice hard to understand, SFX, mysterious music, past 2400, leftover
from H`we`en? Others report these as two different `stations`:
Techno Turkey Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,105790.0.html
and unID, someone else independently using term ``witchy voice``:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,105792.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2165 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, St.

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA split MW carrier search, Nov 23 at
0709: 711, 774-2, 837, 855-2 but none higher in huge splash levels
from domestix. Medium-speed beat on 774, slow on 855, i.e. Spains,
also 837, and 711 would be Morocco. All weaker than 846 Kiritimati

** CUBA [non?]. 6100 & 6060, Nov 22 at 0741, JBA carriers. Hard to
believe RHC unless on exciters only, but nothing else now in EiBi.
Also something on 6000 S9/+10 but JBM could be RHC altho CNR1 and Echo
of Hope should be on there by now. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13607, 13673.6, 13806, 13873, 13940 all approx., Nov 22 at
2228, RHC spurblobs about 66 kHz intervals, out of 13740 AM, S9/+25,
and only there can I make out JB modulation of Spy Numbers in Spanish!
While unrelated 13680 is on really in RHC Spanish. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 USB, Nov 22 at 2225, dense music S5/S9, still
2233; 2234 melodic bells, announcement mixed? 2241 ``You are tuned to
?????``, 2242 ``You are tuned to ????? radio service``, more nice
music. These say Black Swan Radio International:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Nov 22 at *2300, 5+1 timesignal, but no
pre-IS, perhaps in deference to BBC Oman until 2259*. VOT sign-on with
English schedule, news. But the EAST TURKISTAN carrier has also come
on making a SAH and suppressing VOT modulation, as heard at UTwente.
2305 CCCCCCI modulation starts but well under VOT. After news, Review
of the Tuerkiyish Press; 2315 multi-lingual ID reel; 2317 Weekly
Commentary by the heavy-accent YL so I have no idea what it`s about

** U S A. 5010, Nov 22 at 0349, WRMI in Spanish, immediately hear
``derechos de trabajo``, so secret R. República hour being repeated
over and over on subject of workers` rights - lacking in Cuba, of
course, previously heard occupying three hours straight at 0300-0600,
filed under CUBA [non]; checked via Maryland remote, sufficient (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7780, Nov 22 at 0745, WRMI with TOMBS S9+10! Much stronger
than usual from this antenna off the side from 222 degrees, since
Hurricane Ian; but // 7570 is even stronger, S9+30/40 so maybe a
pipeline has developed instead of antenna change? (Glenn Hauser,
OK,WOR)

** VANUATU. 7890, Nov 22 at 0743, JBA carrier, no doubt 2 x 3945 RV,
but nothing on 3 x = 11835 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7275, Nov 22 at 0747, S6/S9 open carrier. PBS Xinjiang
Uighur service listed in EiBi but doubt it would be this strong. KBSWR
in Japanese to start at 0800? Or just a Region 2 ham? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
