Tuesday, July 19 2022
** CUBA [and non]. 96.7 FM, July 17 at 1646 UT, lexure in Spanish during big mixed sporadic E and tropo openings; 1658 song with refrain ``Guajira``. 1659, ``Rebelde, La Habana, Emisora de la Revolución, 1700 ``Noticiero Nacional de Radio``. 1711 still in with Cuban mentions, national weather summary, 1713 ``NN de R`` program ID again, ``en AM, FM y Onda Corta``.
Cuban FM DX is rare here, mostly too far for single-hop sporadic E, but Habana is possible at 2095 km = 1302 miles, and westward. WTFDA FM Database has three Rebeldes on 96.7, Bayamo and Moa too far, but this must be: CMBA-FM 96.7 CD. HABANA CH NEWS/TALK/VARIETY RADIO REBELDE 1.0 kWH 0.0 kWV 100.0 m HAAT 23-07-16 82-18-54 REBELDE Tx site Loma de la Cruz/Regla There are three other non-Rebelde 96.7s, one further west, R Mantua, but presumably would not be RR relayers at midday. Only 1 kW horizontal only, not very impressive for a flagship!? Meanwhile I am hunting for other Cubans! Only one possibility: 99.1, July 17 at 1703, some CCI in Spanish. Besides two low-power translators, this is the only full-power, and same site as 96.7: CMBF-FM 99.1 CD. HABANA CH CLASSICAL/OPERA/ARTS RADIO MUSICAL NACIONAL 8.0 kWH only 100.0 m 23-07-16 82-18-54 RADIO TAINO Tx site Loma de la Cruz/Regla --- R. Taíno is in the ``PS Info`` column, not sure what that mean in practice. I am still researching *many* other FM DX logs between 1533 and 1942, Es from Florida, eastern, central and western MEXICO from Cancún to Mazatlán; at same time mid-day tropo from Kansas, Nebraska, as far as Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and hope to have it done in less than three days (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MALDIVES [non]. 11620, July 17 at 1501, Voice of Martyrs Korea, Maldives service I hadn`t checked in some weeks after exhausting speculation about its secret site. Sermon in English, 1503 refers to ``next slide`` but nothing to see! And not yet switched to Dhivehi if ever. S5/S7 signal which is still a lot better than it should be if focused on Maldives, from best guess Taiwan; or from anywhere to the other side of the world (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1120 kHz, July 18 at 0140 UT, I`m rechecking tonight for the unID SS QRM to KMOX. This is just before nominal sunset 0145 at KETU Catoosa/Tulsa, after which this daytimer must close, ha2: there is some CCI, but seems more than 8 Hz SAH as counted last night. At 0412 UT, on caradio while checking for FMDX, now it`s more like 7 Hz. Inside on the altazimuth wrist-mounted DX-398, I`m on it for good, determined to definitely ID it, nulling KMOX to the max, or min. Between tunes, a YL talx at some length, seems to be relationship advice. Keeps giving phone number but I can`t copy; does not start with AC 918. Romantic music plays right thru 0500 UT with no sign of any ID. At 0523 I bring up the KETU stream http://streamcontrol.net:16330/; and it does match with a delay. At 0524 finally I hear a full ID on the radio including ``KETU -- 97.9 La Diferente, la estación --- de Tulsa, Oclajoma``. Call letters pronounced in English, Toolsa en eSpanish. And promptly also on the stream. No mention of an AM frequency; who cares, now that they have an FM translator to wag it, K250BN?! So they may forget it exist, let alone illegally all-night. Thus my previous log under UNID will be promoted to OKLAHOMA in the Roundup. Remember, this is SUPPOSED to be off the air at night, ceding 1120 to clear-channel KMOX St Louis. BTW, KETU is owned by a grocery store in Arkansas called Las Américas; don`t be surprised to hear that name in commercials. And how lame is the slogan ``different`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Mon July 17 at 2200, REE VG into Maryland with token English, news including heat wave, followed by an admitted repeat of Justin`s interview with a female clown. Haven`t run across a mailbag or `DX program` in many months; has anyone? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, July 17 at 2200, no signal into UTwente from VOT English to us, just a weakie presumed China. But on by next check 2216, S9+30/45 with repeat of the `Feeling Supreme` about what to eat vs osteoporosis (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. After the Es FM DX opening July 18, I try the 10m beacon band and quite a lot of activity including overlaps, only a few of which I log: 28204 at 1859, W0WF/B, as often heard, 20 watts from St Charles MO 28218 at 1953, VVV VVV DE K4PAR/B --- also heard July 11; not in WJ5O roster now! But back then I copied from it: 28.2175 K4PAR ? EATONTON, GEORGIA # ?,? un-coordinated 28 May 19 reported by Richard SWL The WJ5O roster I have bookmarked is now dated 8 September 2016! So may have defaulted to a non-updated version. https://www.qsl.net/wj5o/bcn.htm 28284.8 at 1954, V V V N9TNY/B EN51PS - very slow with long pause. Also removed from WJ5O roster but when I heard him June 7 was 5 watts from Geneva IL 28290.8 at 1956, K5TLJ/B, 5 watts from Trumann, Arkansas 28297 at 1958, E E E E E NS9RS ... CHICAGO --- 5 watts from Northfield IL. This time I mis?copied it as NS9RF (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2147 monitoring: confirmed Sunday July 17 at 2000.5 in IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, Villa Estense, S9+10 into nearby Noale SDR but with heavy ACI from stronger signals on 1314 & 1332; following rock music and 2000 IRRS SW ID. 918 not on nor 207 kHz. Also confirmed Sunday July 17 at 2230 on WRMI 5950, S9/+5 into Knoxville SDR. Still airing now altho not on the skedgrid. Also confirmed UT Monday July 18 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9 but noisy into Knoxville SDR; at 0050 better into Maryland S7/9+10. Also confirmed UT Monday July 18 from 0259.3 on Area 51 via WBCQ, 6160 minus 61 Hz, into PEI SDR = 6159.939, S9+5/10 Also confirmed UT Tuesday July 19 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S8/9+15 into Maryland SDR. Altho strength can be VG, such offfrequenciness is not characteristic of the 500 kW SuperStition transmitter which is presumably still down (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1090, July 18 at 0528 UT, praise music direct, again far too big a sig to be legal 80 watts from KAAY, but I // it to stream: https://www.iheart.com/live/1090am-kaay-5383/?autoplay=true This is bad news for licensed CC 50 kW 1090s, WBAL Baltimore and KFNQ Seattle, if that`s still its call, but what do you bet they do not know nor care? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** WALES [and non]. 14263-USB, July 17 at 0624, already tuned near here for CIDX, I eavesdrop on a near-antipodal contact between MW0YVK and VK3OZY, both equally weak but almost sufficient, discussing how hot it is in UK, 40 degrees in London; and they often repeat calls at cambios unlike so many hams: MW0YVK Wales flag Wales Eddy Howells 72 hollywell cresent, ABERGAVENNY, MONMOUTHSHIRE, NP7 5LG Wales --- and Victorian holder of that perfect Aussie callsign: VK3OZY Australia flag Australia GRANT "Grunt" MAHONEY SKYE 3977 Australia with lots of illos at his page: https://www.qrz.com/db/VK3OZY (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0242 UT July 19

Sunday, July 17 2022
** CANADA. Congrats to Canadian International DX Club on 60th anniversary, supposed to be marked by two special event ham stations July 17, 1800-2200 UT, VE2AQP circa 14240 USB and VE6SWL circa 14265 USB -- but not heard direct tuning around these circa 1920 UT; just some US stations (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6060, July 17 at 0615, RHC is S9+10 with nothing but hum in English; 6100 & 6165 are both sufficient S9+20/30. 5040 is off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. Attn those expecting to find all my pirate logs under this heading: see also OKLAHOMA in each report as the KOFM CB pirate relay continues on 27185v (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27184.47 AM, July 16 at 2321, KOFM presumed the usual source of country music relayed by local CB pirate (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 11800, July 16 at 2326, interview in Spanish continues past 2330. No match with RHC or Martí; what could it be? At 2335 // 9760, so the ubiquitous RRI as scheduled this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, July 17 at 0500-0506, UR1 via WRMI, immediately into English `Ukraine: Security Issue` for July 16 = Day 143 of Putin`s horrible war (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2147 monitoring: confirmed Saturday July 16 at 1941 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG about 1 minute into so started circa 1940. Not confirmed Sat July 16 at 1930 on WRMI 15770, as the gospel huxter airs successfully after a semihour? of fill music. WOR confirmed from 1930 on WRN webcast of N American service. Confirmed UT Sunday July 17 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S3/S4 into Georgia SDR; following 0029 Etón commercial and Allen Graham ID - is he really still in Quito? Also confirmed UT Sunday July 17 at 0333 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM near St Louis MO, S9+10/15 into nearby SDR but with heavy storm crashes from SE MO into east central IL. Also confirmed Sunday July 17 until 1359.8 on WMRI Europe via Channel 292, Germany, 9670, S6/S9 into NW Ireland SDR, so started almost 1331; followed by WMRI ID and clock ticking/chimes SFX. Next: 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled? still July 3] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated; thanks this week to Kari Kallio, Lahti, Finland, for some tuki via PayPal not necessarily originally in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by postal money order or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330-, July 16 at 2332 WLCR on WBCQ back on air after a few days` breakdown, S9+20/30 in English. Later I refine the measurement: 9329.928! and somewhat wavering, July 17 at 0618. This is NOT the behaviour of the 500 kW SuperStition transmitter, rather one of the old ``classic`` WBCQ transmitters, habitually off-frequency minus, occasionally plus, but never exactly on-frequency. Another measurement July 17 at 1437: 9329.856V, always in English when I check, now only S9 direct. At 1447 via Maryland remote, S9+10 and minus 143 Hz = 9329.857, calibration OK at WWV 10000. Latest twit: ``Allan Weiner @AllanWBCQ · 37m [= 1449 UT minus 37 = 1412 UT July 17] Working on the transmitters. 9330 kHz back on the air. The worlds free speech station is WBCQ. Always. Tune in tonight on 6160khz for Area61 programming. Then Radio Angela on 5130khz at 10pm eastern. Shortwaves Rules✌️. We do it with real transmitters, real RF, in real time. Really`` AW never volunteers pertinent info such as substituting one transmitter for another. Since the WLCR antenna and the classic 245-degree antennas and transmitters are at separate locations, it might have been difficult or impossible to intermix them. WLCR language and azimuth usage has been quite flexible but per FCC A22, 9330 would be 250 kW, 180 degrees at 06-08; 250 kW, 290 degrees at 13-15 UT. If both transmitter and SS antenna are out of service, everything is probably no more than 50 kW on WSW beam (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. 1090, July 17 at 0705 UT, HUD and another USG PSA, then into praise music. Bigsig loops E/W or slightly clockwise, i.e. KAAY Little Rock. This is NOT its new night power of 80 watts! Sounds like 50 kW, and can`t be former tight night pattern either, unfavorable thisaway, but non-direxional 50 kW day pattern. FCC AMQ still shows 80 watts as a CP to go with ND 50 kW day. KAAY was no longer able to operate direxionally day or night, thus the drastic power reduxion at night; but not yet? It was granted May 6. Should not be that hard to set up an 80-watt transmitter. Nulling it, I hear Spanish, presumably still XEAU Monterrey (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 1120 kHz, July 17 at 0632 UT, KMOX oldtimeradio drama has heavy QRM from music in Spanish. Normally KMOX is one of the clearest of clear channels here. I count a SAH of about 8 Hz. Unreadable announcement/ID? at 0702, otherwise upbeat romantic song segués till I quit at 0723. Best audible on DX-398 with KMOX nulled, i.e. NW/SE but hard to get a fix on the QRM. Mexican? At the time I do not think of the Tulsa market KETU Catoosa, 10 kW DAYTIMER, also 7 kW critical hours with two different direxional patterns. It`s certainly a problem for KMOX during CH near sunset; will have to check whether 8 Hz apart then. MWoffset shows 7 Hz apart!: http://mwlist.org/mwoffset.php?khz=1120 1120 1119.9932 KETU (Catoosa, OK) as of 2019-01-03 1120 1120.0002 KMOX (Saint Louis, MO) [-1120.0027 range] as of 2021-11-14 IBOC within 0.1 Hz [no more IBOC] NRC AM Log says ``Diferente`` is part of slogan, and post facto think I may have heard it say that. It was pretty steady, like area groundwave as heard by itself daytimes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1955 UT July 17

Saturday, July 16 2022
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Saturday July 16 at 1447 tune-in via Argentine remote, LRA36 already on with song, sufficiently good; 1449 ID, more song; 1500 ID with staff names, ``Nacional, la Radio Pública`` but not the canned official sign-on with quadrilingual Spanish-only advisory; maybe it ran earlier. 1501 Antártida themesong, but chopped off air at 1504* before finished. What a disappointment! Habitually when this happen it never come back, nor do it today monitored until a full hour be up on the remote, 1548. Nor anything at 1853 check either.
Gary Pence was hearing it as usual via KFS and also same Argentine remote starting at 1445 and: ``when they were on about 10 till the hour listening on Lu4aa sdr I heard those high fast buzzing blurb things one after another and now they are gone too! Sure sounds like intentional jamming to me??? 73 Gary`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5040, July 16 at 0400 as I am confirming WOR on 5130 into Maryland SDR, I see on the H2Ofall without needing to hear it, that this RHC frequency is AWOL. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2147 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday July 16 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9/+20 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed UT Saturday July 16 at 0400 on WBCQ Radio Angela, 5130-, S9/+15 into Maryland SDR. Also confirmed Saturday July 16 after 1600 on WRN North America webcast. Next: 1930 Saturday on WRMI 15770? I have hinted to Jeff that if fill music be playing instead of `Power of the Word`, might put WOR back on. 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 1324vUT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? 9330, July 16 circa 0630, WLCR/WBCQ is still off, reason unknown. Pray harder! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7260, 7890, 11835, July 16 at 0635, no signals, not even JBA carriers from RV. Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain, agrees at 0615 on the WOR iog: ``Vanuatu out of air today, due to COVID-19? Erratic Radio Vanuatu, out of the air today July 16, checked from 0520, no signal, no carrier directly here in Reinante and no signal via SDR Kiwi remote receivers in New Zealand on 7260 and on its other usual frequencies. Perhaps the absence is due to the announcers being infected with COVID-19, because yesterday and in the past days I have heard them coughing insistently while speaking, both the female and the male announcers.`` Ahh, diagnosis by DX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9275, July 16 at 0627, S9+10/20 of open carrier. Strongly suspect it`s the new WMLK high-power transmitter testing? Nominally only at 1700-2200 UT --- except Saturday, and this is now UT Sabbath! If in this cult, Yahweh`ll get`em for any work on the Sabbath, they are in for trouble. Or maybe forgot to turn it off before Friday sundown, and now can`t touch it? Plans were to also run overnight except Sabbathday, registered 04-09 UT on a much different frequency, 15150, ignorant of Propagation 101 -- nothing heard on it now. Much like the WBCQ SuperStition, had not figured out how to make their new gizmo change frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1856 UT July 16

** ANGOLA. 4949.720, July 15 at 2152, presumed RNA is JBA S7 mostly noise into Namibia SDR with signature offset, no signal into RSA SDR and there are no other Kiwis in southern Africa. Tnx to tip from Manuel Méndez, Spain, who reported this yesterday to the WOR iog:
``Rádio Nacional de Angola, 4949,7 on air after months without detecting it --- Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain, Log in Reinante, NW of Spain, Tecsun PL-880, cable antenna, 8 meters: ANGOLA, 4949.7, Rádio Nacional de Angola, Mulenvos, 1956-2016, 14-07, comments, songs. Strong carrier, extremely weak audio, barely audible, best on LSB.`` Tropical Bands Monitor as of 1 July shows this on 4949.7 had been reported this year only in January and March. Once upon a time RNA ran all-night and its off-frequency carrier at least could be detected in deep North America. As of last year, WRTH showed 4950 as 24 h with A program in Portuguese, nominal 25 kW; while MW 945 had some foreign languages local evenings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, July 15 at 1852, LRA36 is on with a surprise late Friday broadcast; tnx to tips from Hugo López, Chile and Manuel Méndez, Spain. Sufficient S5/S9 into Argentine SDR. Amid interview of a guy by the gals who are laughing a lot. He`s talking about high winds and other weather info, mentions Centro Meteorológico Marambio, so maybe he`s visiting from that other base. Only QRM occasional clix. Unfortunately at 1900-2000 UT Fridays I always listen to KUCO for `The Score` cinemusic in $ tereo. LRA36 is off by my next chance to check at 2022. Maybe this compensate for totally missing their scheduled Wednesday 1500 transmission? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. Correxion to a typo not noticed by me until July 14. Is anyone paying attention? I wish I were before I publish an error! Second frequency was given as 9873.86 instead of 9673.86; FIXED: 9673.80 / 9673.86, July 9 at 0621, RVM praise music jumping around these two spots as I try to measure it. Anyeditor who published this error must now also publish this correxion (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9440, July 15 at 2133 and 2201, NO signal in English from R. Cairo into UTwente; it`s better than something since something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SRI LANKA [non]. 11750, July 15 at 1650, no signal of SLBC into Kuwait SDR; supposedly 1630-1830 with domestic service relay. Had not paid attention before but checking now whether it be off due to strife. At 1620-1650, VIRI blox 11750 in Bengali: how could they possibly know about SLBC since it`s not in HFCC? After Qur`an, 1630 chimes and ``Radio Tehran`` ID. After 1700 into Bengaluru SDR, nothing either on 11750. I have the vague impression that SLBC 11750 may have been sporadic already. The other times to seek SLBC are 0030-0100 and 0200-0230 on 11905, often reported from N America. Of course there are lots of relays via Trincomalee site: Aoki has 36 entries including SLBC. Other have reported some of those still on. BTW, the protesters` takeover of SLBC TV I quoted on WOR 2147 turned out to be a bit exaggerated: they were allowed on for 15 minutes. I thought it somewhat suspicious that the language signer in the corner continued during clip unabated. See this via Ron Howard, WOR iog: BBC news story - "Sri Lanka: The fake ‘invasions’ of a broadcaster and Central Bank" https://news.yahoo.com/sri-lanka-fake-invasions-broadcaster-080717044.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, July 15 at 2201 and 2212, NO signal from VOT English into UTwente, but something weak, presumably CNR1 Beijing 572 site also scheduled. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2146 monitoring: ``From: Richard Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees. Dear Glenn: World of Radio, monitoring and confirming the latest for #2146, continued troubled time hearing at 0130 UTC on 5850 kHz too much daylight hours reduced reception, WRMI: 9395, 0130, 0141, static QRN, 0159, July 9 UTC 2022 [Sat] 9395, static, QSB fading, 0043, 0059 (S7 signal level), 0159, 9395, July 12 UTC 2022 [Tue]. {??? 0159 UT Tue, starting at 0130 is not a scheduled time for WOR, just 0030; your typo or their error/change?} 9395, static QRN, 2331, 2342 (S5,6 signal levels), 2359 July 12 [Tue] 5850, missed broadcast sleeping, 1100, July 13 [Wed 1030] 9395, 0029, 0059 (45343), usual static QRN; 9395, 0130, 0139, 0144, 0155 (45443), 0159, July 14 [both Thu] Good listening, Richard, July 14, 2022`` WORLD OF RADIO 2147 monitoring: confirmed first broadcasts UT Friday July 15 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5850 S9+10/20 direct, preceded by two overlapping IDs and WOR not starting until 0130.2; presumably same on 7730, S9/+10 and noisy, both direct. Not confirmed UT Friday July 15 at 0330 on WRMI 7780: rather, previous WOR 2146 aired again; not sure why, some file mixup? But I have rechecked that 2147 is ready for all subsequent airings on WRMI thru July 21. Also confirmed Friday July 15 at 1430 on WRMI 9955; inaudible at Bonaire where it`s aimed but S7/9+10 direct, no jamming audible. A 2-minute music buffer at 1428 following the Tourette`s gospel huxter blaster preceding. Confirmed NOT airing Friday July 15 at 1815 on IRRS 7290, AM Italia 1323, 918, usual third-Friday pre-emption for some classic rock; checked via UTwente and Noale SDRs. Confirmed the MW-only AM Italia airing Friday July 15 at 2030 on 918 & 1323 kHz; 918 at S9/+5 is better than 1323 only S7/S8, and no LW 207; but by 2031, 918 cuts off and on the air, and/or when on without modulation. While 1323 seems to stay as I switch back & forth. Ailing? Yes, a twit as of 13 hours before 0000 UT July 16: ``Allan Weiner @AllanWBCQ · 13h --- Working at the stations. The great 500 KW transmitter is down. Very complex. All of us troubleshooting now. Free speech radio continues. Angela & Allan on tonight at 8pm eastern on 7490/6160/5130/3265khz. Support radio-please listen. Your prayers appreciated. The big one⚡️.`` Well, UT Sat July 16 after 0000, 3265 is JBA S5 at Maryland SDR, mostly local and storm noise but SAM as carrier +151 Hz = 3265.152v. 3265.153v much better S8/S9 into nearest PEI SDR. Apparently during AAAWWW original broadcast is only time it`s occasionally onturned. 3265 is not even included in the program guide. A new AAAWWW, since discussing the Webb Space Telescope images. Angela is not within grasp of Allan but on a lo-fi remote phone line. I guess he is in ME, she in FL. Or, ``she is on an errand``. Almost whole program is Allan lexuring us on the Universe and Everything, Relativity, with the inevitable Christian undertones. I`m listening via the 7490v webcast. Datestamp at 0038 as he is from Studio 1 in Monticello, for 15 July YOOLF 2022. Never heard anything about what`s wrong with the SuperStition. 0053 into email (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3215 & 5890, July 15 at 0630, both these WWCR TOMBS frequencies are off. Now we see in the program schedules dated July 1 that they are intentionally OFF AIR: WWCR-1 M-F at 0500-1100 3215 and 1100-1130 15825; and WWCR-4 M-F 0500-1200 5890. BUT same remain on air Saturdays and Sundays with TOMBS. No other Off Air times are shown. Absent 5890 also deprives us of the leapfrog mixing product over 5935 landing on 5980. The currently active transmit site for KFS is Bolinas, CA - co-located with KPH. The KFS transmitter is a 1942 Press Wireless PW15 running about 5 kW. This transmitter was in service for KFS at the historic (1921) Palo Alto, CA site and was one of the transmitters used for the "last day of Morse" ceremony on 12 July 1999, the date we commemorate with Night of Nights. We brought it and a sister PW15 to Bolinas. KFS worked SS AMERICAN VICTORY/KKUI with multiple QTC in both directions and perhaps other customers. I guess I was confused by the KFS KiwiSDRs being at Half Moon Bay despite the same callsign. It seems that TOMBS hours have been reduced here as well as on WRMI, Channel 292 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7260, July 14 at 0621, JBA carrier, presumed R. Vanuatu which Manuel Méndez found yesterday active both before and after 0600, rather than 3945 and harmonix, so still no 11835. NO 2 x 7260 audible on 14520 either (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9330, July 14 at 1440, JBA carrier. Hard to believe it`s the 500 kW WBCQ SuperStition; if so, must be on exciter only during English. Nothing else shares 9330 except Cuban Spy Numbers at 0700 four days a week, which was there long before WLCR/WBCQ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 15520, July 14 at 0623, S7/S9 open carrier, one of strongest signals on band, equivalent to 15490 BBC Vatican but with less fading. Nothing on skeds to account for it, but maybe a test from Spain which is on 15520 only between 14 and 23. The only other 15520 scheduled is AWR 0400-0430 Amharic via Sri Lanka: possibly that disrupted by strife, but would not expect such a transpolar signal to be so steady (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0034 UT July 15
