Glenn Hauser logs March 23-24-25, 2022  View Printable Version
Friday, March 25 2022

Hauser
** CUBA. 4765, March 24 at 0134, JBA S5/S6 into Bonaire SDR, R.
Progreso? Yet 5040, RHC at 0136 is S9+5/15 of dead air. Maybe 4765 was
Tajikistan, Cuba off, as no 4765 signal at 0137 recheck. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA NORTH [and non]. 11735, March 24 at 0653, too-sweet music
from VOK, shortly French ID and schedule, S7/S9. Music at first
sounded similar on 11680, another DPRK channel, which should be on the
air now with domestic service 22 hpd; but differs later, surely Zambia
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 15605, March 24 at 1507, S8/S9+10 of talk in unknown
language, slight RTTY QRM on minus side. It`s AWR via Talata in `Lus`
language per Aoki, nomenclature confusion discussed earlier. Not in
WRTH 2022 in any language under AWR Africa, where else? UK on page
502. O, that`s because as in EiBi, `MZ` is a S Asian language, so in
WRTH it`s Mizo, page 499 under, where else? Thailand (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** PERU [and non]. 4775 minus 36 Hz = 4774.964, March 24 at 0132,
S6/S8 of music into Bonaire SDR, R. Tarma. Normally it`s about 40 Hz
on plus side.

Since this SDR is back online I`m bandscanning 60m. Did not check
calibration, but still running at 1558 when the only WWV JBA is 20000,
SAM showing carrier offset within plus/minus 1 Hz, which must be
instability of receiver, not WWV, but close to accurate.

Nothing else of note on 60m circa 0136: 4765 Cuba? is JBA only S5-S6.
Nothing from USA beyond 4980 & 5010 WRMIs. 4940 Fuerza de Paz is VG;
4885 Brasils, and nothing more exotic (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** RUSSIA. 9996 CW, March 24 at 0641, secondly timepips, prolonged
marker at top of each minute. Obviously RWM Taldom on signature
channel, agreeing closely with WWV/H, sorry (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. My recording via a remote of Ukrainian Radio relay
via WRMI 7780, March 23 at 0503-0510 UT, English segment with some
Ukrainian before and after; the start of which is on WOR 2131:
https://www.w4uvh.net/Ukraine_English_2022_0323_0503_WRMI_7780.mp3
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2130 monitoring: confirmed UT Thursday March
24 at 0030 on WRMIs: 9395, S9+15 into Maryland SDR while 9455 is JBA
S7 in noise level. But at Missouri SDR, 9395 is S9+30, and 9455 is
almost as good, S9+20. How to explain disparity of supposedly
identical parameters, 100 kWs at 355 degrees? Maybe radically
different antennas with tighter beam on the lower one.

Also confirmed UT Thursday March 24 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, S9+5/20 into
TWR Bonaire SDR. Yes, this mostly missing Kiwi is back online at the
moment! It defaults to 800 kHz, so TWR people can listen to their own
PJB station, but when running on SW it`s better than anything else in
the Caribbean area.

A few minutes too late to confirm, I spot an additional WOR airing now
on the WRMI skedgrid: UT Thursday at 0130 on 9395.

WORLD OF RADIO 2131 contents: Algeria non*, Angola, Armenia,

** U S A. 7730, March 24 at 0053, still no reactivation of this WRMI
frequency which was supposed to occur some 25 hours ago; nor for a few
hours more monitoring nothing here. No explanation on the disgraced FB
of WRMI, the go-to place for latest station news, if any. Later: Jeff
told me it would really be back by UT March 25, and so it is but 7730
seems weaker than it should be at 0050 check. We are getting close to
the Grand Swap of all 7730 & 7780 programming for A-22, effective
March 27 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, March 24 at 0632, WLCR via WBCQ SuperStition inbooming
as some wacko is asserting that Man has never gone into space, let
alone landed on the Moon: it was all staged for unknown reasons by the
powers that were. What a pity that WBCQ has tied itself to this
nonsense; surely as a Man of Science, Allan Weiner knows better but
won`t contradict, disparage, or condemn his major client. Free speech!
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9975, March 24 at 0640, KVOH is still on, song with guitar,
S9+20/30. Sked revised March 16
http://voiceofhope.com/schedule/kvoh_program_grid.pdf
shows SW sign-off at 0600* after `Song in the Night`. BTW, AWR
Wavescan is now 0200 UT Sunday and Tuesday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9777.70 USB, March 24 at 0638, weak 2-way in Spanish

Glenn Hauser logs March 22-23, 2022  View Printable Version
Thursday, March 24 2022

Hauser
** BRAZIL. 9818.675, March 23 at 0627, JBA talk here, presumed the
always off-frequency R. Nove de Julho. Sometimes has been slightly
above 9819 but never attaining nominal 9820 as in WRTH where you`d
never know about its signature offfrequenciness. EiBi latest had it on
9819.1 but Aoki can`t stand any decimals, not even 9819 but ``9820``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9965, March 23 at 0625, pulse jamming against nothing! It was
in July 2011 when I first noted that Radio República, ELCOR Costa Rica
transmitter was missing from 9965, and also from 5954+. By then RMI
was carrying it via Sackville. weekends only on 9490 - later moved to
France. So Cuba has been incompetently jamming 9965 the 10+ years
since, just in case. ¡Viva la polución! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, March 23 at 0649, only RHC English frequency still on,
S9 with hum; but 5040 continues in Spanish, S9+30, blocking any
Vanuatu. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, March 23 at 1523, RHC S9/+10 of humbuzz only, and ACI
from 11765 China. By now both 13700 & 13740 are off as well as 15230,
but 15140 remains JBA in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** IRAN [non]. 15629.837, March 23 at 1439 and still 1519, JBA carrier
with Doppler flutter. Only thing anywhen listed on ``15630`` is Iran
International TV audio from UK via UZBEKISTAN, which is well known for
its offfrequenciness. But both EiBi and Aoki show it only until 1330;
extended? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MONGOLIA [non]. 5800, UT Wed March 23, I hear almost all of Voice
of Mongolia`s new relay via WRMI at 0130 Tue-Sat: good signal via
Brasilia #1 KiwiSDR, tuning in at 0134. Entire broadcast presented by
one woman, name unknown; she has some accent requiring more careful
than casual listening. News? items first include; today is anniversary
of first space flight by a Mongolian in 1980 by the USSR. UN ranx
Mongolia #62 in happiness, out of 146; and some other survey rankings.
0146 end news, Poetry Break and Water Issues coming after some music.
Poem presented in English is ``I will become grass in the east``,
unfortunately hard to follow, maybe loses something in translation?
0145, Water Issues: today 22/3 is World Water Day. Mongolia deals with
dryness, degraded waterness; includes an interview with someguy, more
difficult accent; explains river drainage patterns. 0157 ending, some
nice EZL music hardly Mongolish; 0159 sign-off starts to give own
12### SW frequency at 0900 but cut off for WRMI `Everglades` ID -
plenty of H2O there! Squeezed between two great autocratic
dictatorships, and below the radar in world news, I wonder, How
democratic is Mongolia?
https://freedomhouse.org/country/mongolia/freedom-world/2021
but seems to have been a setback in 2021 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** RUSSIA [non]. 9370, March 23 at 1945, R. Svoboda S9+35 into
UTwente, but distorted from presumed Armenian defective transmitter.
Also has a het from 9372, jamming? But into Khimki, Russia SDR, good
S8-S9 somewhat noisy with no het or jamming. Off at 2000* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, 12030, 11940, 11685, Wed Mar 23 at 2308 check, token
English from REE manages all four frequencies, all VG except 11685
into Maryland SDR; a report about Beirut (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.000, March 22 at 2300, into UTwente, nothing
audible, but Synch locked on to S7 of exact frequency; no VOT! By
2319, S9+10 nothing but Chinese from PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi, EAST
TURKISTAN, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and
other Moslems. VOT to North America in English totally absent.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler.

5960, March 23 at 2309, VOT English back on air, S9/+10 into Maryland
remote, good modulation but considerable hum, ending Review of the
Turkish Press. Carrier offset +17v Hz. 2318 `Feeling Supreme` natural
cures for insomnia including rosemary, cherry pie, ginseng, lemon
grass tea, lavénder tea, mint tea, etc. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7780, March 23 at 0504-0509.5, English segment
otherwise Ukrainian from Ukrainian Radio via WRMI, which I tuned from
0459; VG into Maryland SDR, ``Ukrainian Security Issues``, to put it
mildly, usual too-rapid reading. I recorded it all and debate whether
I can spare that much precious World of Radio 2131 time to spread it
for the record. If not, may provide it all on my website (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2130 monitoring: ``From: Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees,
Dear Glenn: World of Radio #2130, confirmed, below with Details:

WBCQ:
6160, S9 signal, 0325 (433), QRM 6165 kHz [Cuba], almost missed 2130,
program went into Hobart, 0329, March 21 UT 2022 [Mon]
(Lemke, Richard -AB)

WRMI:
9395, QRN, 0139, 0145, 0158 (45433), 0159, March 19 UT [Sat]
9395, old tv set noise, 0030, 0042, 0055 (45433), 0058 March 22 [Tue]
9955, jingle, hear me again, 2259, March 22 UT [Tue]
5850, first morning in years slept 1545 UT, missed the time, sleepy,
1030, March 23 UT [Wed] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``

Confirmed Tue March 22 after 2230 on WRMI 9955: S9/+10 direct; later
S8/S9 into UTwente way offbeam; S5-S7 into LU4AD Argentine SDR; S7-S9
into Brasília #1 SDR by 2258 over a bit of jamming.

Fortunately? I awakened at 1055 and confirmed the 1030 Wed Mar 23 on
WRMI 5850, VG direct; 1059 closing stepped on so my last few words
were overridden, why? Happens consistently on some WRMIs, not others.
My files are never over 29:00 exactly.

Also confirmed Wed Mar 23 at 2124 the 2100:21 in WBCQ 7490v, S9/+15
into Maryland SDR. Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

** U S A [and non]. From disgraced FB: ``WRMI Radio Miami
International Yesterday at 4:30 PM · [March 22 at 2030 UT?]
Just a quick note to advise our listeners that the antenna repair on
7730 kHz has been completed, and this frequency will transmit as
scheduled beginning immediately.

Please note that 7730 beamed to Mexico, Western North America and the
South Pacific will change to 7780 kHz this coming Sunday March 27 for
the A22 season, and our frequency of 7780 beamed to Eastern North
America and Europe will switch to 7730 kHz.`` [also via Alan Roe]

Good, but 7730 was *not* on the air immediately. It had been scheduled
starting at 0000 UT. I left a receiver on that frequency and it was
vacant all evening UT March 23. However, when I quit at 0646 there was
a JBA carrier incomparable to booming 7570; probably ChiCom jammer as
7730 is also a 24-hour Sound of Hope frequency. Maybe 7730 WRMI will
be back on by 0000 UT Thursday March 24 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15770, March 23 at 1917, missed checking whether RFPI in
Russian be again on WRMI at 1900 Wednesday, but mostly music until
1930 VOA News, and 1935 `Flashpoint Ukraine`. First via UTwente,
only S6-S7 and with RTTY QRM on the low side, evitable by USB-only
tuning. At Maryland SDR, no sign of the RTTY and VG S9+10 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9346.182v, March 23 at 0631, weak gospel huxter in English
citing Acts V. I am hearing this only in USB mode where there is also
a reduced carrier. I never hear it sliding, but it keeps jumping
downward; shortly 9345.76, 9345.44 hardly giving me a chance to
precision it. As I keep tuning downward, obviously spur out of 9330
matching WBCQ SuperStition with World`s Last Chance at S9+30/40 --- no
more weak signal now! So at 0636 I hunt for a matching spur on the
~16+ kHz minus side of 9330, but do not find any around 9314; however
it`s clear that there is Super-splash down to 9310 or so. By 0638 the
upspur is about 9345.79. At 0642 there are traces of algo around 9313
in LSB without carrier but evasive, can never lock onto it. So the SS
needs a bit of work to get rid of this stuff (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9939.991, March 22 at 2248, S9+15 of rock into UTwente as
WTWW-2? Is again active up here. ``9940`` registered for 40 degree
antenna, good for Europe unlike the others except even rarer 15810. No
9940 at 2334 check March 23 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report despatched at 2350 UT March 23

** BOTSWANA. 15730.302, March 22 at 1915, JBA carrier with flutter,
way off-frequency. Only thing scheduled is VOA in French until 1930
when Grimesland takes over (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 17585, March 22 at 1435, Chinese S7/S9 with flutter, the
SSOB by far with only a few JBA carriers elsewhere on 16m. It`s CNR1
jammer // 9660, this hour only against VOA Tibetan via Biblis,
GERMANY. Propagtionally, this would need to be from western ``China``,
such as East Turkistan, ChiCom-occupied ``Xinjiang`` in order to be
effective into ChiCom-occupied Tibet, a single hop away over partial
daypath (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13740, March 22 at 1438, S9+10 of dead air, obviously RHC,
supposedly running until 1500; while 13700 is only S9 and
undermodulated; also fails to produce any spurs circa 65-70 kHz above
and below, none heard in several weeks. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, March 22 at 1920, S9/S7 of humbuzz, obviously RHC but
no programming, off at 1921*. Maybe a test. Aoki guesses 11760 is in a
break 1800-2200; EiBi, 1800-2100. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PHILIPPINES [and non]. 9856 approx., March 22 at 1456, extremely
distorted FMish talk, signature of parasitic spurblob from a nearby
frequency. With a second receiver I quickly match modulation peaks to
clear 9800, which is VOA Korean via Tinang! Further confirming this is
a matching spurblob about 56 kHz below on the other side, 9744 approx.
All three are off by 1500, but a weaker signal remains on 9800, i.e.
Nippon no Kaze in Korean via TAIWAN. Tinang aims 21 degrees toward
Korea which carries on well into deep North America, fundamentally or
otherwise (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** RUSSIA [non]. 9370, March 22 at 1934, R. Svoboda relay is S9+8 into
Izhevsk, Russia SDR, somewhat overmodulated distorted; also
splattering at least 9350-9390 by 1957; at first a bit of `clatter`
jamming? But its own defectivity from ARMENIA? is the main obstacle.
Even worse into UTwente, S9+30 and same splatter range; off at 2000*
after ID and almost starting another hour. We`re still awaiting news
of more transmissions funded by Shortwaves for Freedom (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11815.722, March 22 at 1448, TRT again way off-frequency
hetting weaker Japan 11815.0, and no Turkish modulation audible.
Wolfgang Büschel puts it at 11815.721 at 1414 today; and Ivo Ivanov
11815.7 from 1400 presumably until 1655. Zach Liangas, Greece says
11815.72 is correct at 1609.

My independent measurement yesterday 24 hours ago was 11815.737. I
admit that my last digits may be slightly approximate. Various other
TRT frequencies are inexact but not as far off, so are they
deliberately mistuning this one day after day? Something`s always
erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13565 CW, March 22 at 1437, HIFER beacon K6FRC is JBA from
Patterson CA, allegedly only 1.8 milliwatts; today no sign a sesquikHz
lower of YSO Yellow Springs OH: that one is normally too close for
skip without a little help from the sporadic E: 795 statute miles =
1279 km; while K6FRC is 1283 stmi = 2065 km (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK,
WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2130 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday March
22 at 0030 on WRMIs: 9395 & 9455 both S9+25 into Missouri remote,
indistinguishable in strength and modulation; unlike a previous
comparison into an east-coast remote, when 9455 was extremely
inferior; what changed? And this time no fading down by 0058, still
VG. OTOH, more diversity is called for. Next:

2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

** U S A [non]. 9455, March 22 at 1504, weak fluttery signal must not
be WRMI, since it`s much stronger on nearby 9395 with same nominal
parameters. Otherwise on 9455 at this hour: CRI Chinese via Kunming.
Not unusual for 9455 WRMI-5 to be partially missing from 24/7 on the
grid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, March 22 at 1506, WLCR gospel huxter in English via
WBCQ is only poor S3/S6. How can this be with 500 kW? Axually HFCC
registered as only 250 kW, 300 degrees toward W Canada at 14-16. But
Bulgarian DX blog:

``USA WLC Radio changes on 9330 kHz via Monticello, March 17

Same situation at 1925 recheck, 9330 only VP S2/S4; yet closest other
SW station, 9265v WINB is S9/S6. 256 degrees is close to our angle
from Monticello and certainly all south of the border; so the weak
signal is still unexplained (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15450, March 22 from 1657 past 1730, no signal into
UTwente or Kuwait SDR. An unnamed broadcast in Persian was supposed to
test at this time and date, per Ivo Ivanov on March 3:
``New clandestine broadcast is registered in B-21 HFCC Database via
TDF Issoudun
1700-1730 on 15450 ISS 150 kW / 088 deg to WeAs Persian eff. from
March 22 via WRMI Broker --- Публикувано от Observer в 4:45 PM``

Despite RMI in HFCC, Jeff White told me it`s not WRMI-brokered.

Then Ivo said the date for it was March 20, but I did not see that in
time, nor did anyone? check for it. That`s also in HFCC dated 12 Mar
as applying to 20 March only, not with RMI:

``15450 1700 1730 40 ISS 150 88 0 217
1234567 200322 200322 D 17400 Fas F TDF TDF 11203``

Wolfgang Buschel replies:
``What? but in A-22 RMI requested via TDF FMO?
15450 1600 1630 40 ISS 150 88 0 217
1234567 270322 291022 Farsi F RMI TDF 4389 Ir``

Current RMI skekgrid as of March 22 dated March 13 does not show
anything on 15450 or for Iran via TDF.

Note: March 22 is significant in Iran, date DST starts associated with
equinox = Nowruz = New Year 1401 of March 20, UT +4.5 instead of +3.5,
accounting for 1700/1600 UT change of so far unconfirmed, imaginary,
unattributed broadcast (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15610, March 22 at 1914, no signal from 250 kW WEWN which is
supposed to start English at 1900; yet pennywhistle 15555 USB WJHR is
audible from nearby. What would Mother Angelica say? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9940, March 22 at 1922, classic rock at S9+10/20 from
WTWW-2, more active lately on this frequency. No others checked are on
air now: 9475, 5830, 5085 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 13130, March 21 at 1359 Chinese S9 with flutter until
timesignal and off 1400*. Just in time heard JBA carrier of another
CNR1 jammer on 13020; but 13530 was already off (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CHINA [and non]. 12120, March 21 at 1416, Chinese from CNR1 jammer,
S9+10/20 and // weaker one on 9660. Blows away the RTTY always on
12120 which EiBi says is NAU US Navy Puerto Rico STANAG but this is
not STANAG noise. Axual target this hour is VOA Chinese via
Philippines, hardly audible; while 9660 vs R. Taiwan International
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 9900, March 21 at 2245, Cairo is already off, and not nearby
either; rather, echoing Chinese talk from double CNR1 jamming against
Taiwan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12000, March 21 at 0557, RHC English with jazzy music S7/S8 =
2 x 6000 where it`s S9+20, and overmodulated/distorted on both. No
signs of 2 x other 49ms, 6060, 6100 or 6165, on 12120, 12200, 12330,
but always check for them. Aoki shows 6000 as Quivicán site, the
others Bauta. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. Correcting one time: English from 2115, not 2315:

9884.803v, March 20 at 2112, here we go again, R. Cairo on
yet another frequency, in B21 for French until 2115, S9+30 totally
distorted music into UTwente. Maybe about to move for totally
distorted English from 2115? Was 9909.8 yesterday, ex 9899.8 before
that. So it pays to tune around the area. However, at 2202 recheck now
it`s on 9899.802, S9+40. At 2353, more than an hour after English
would have finished, now it`s polluting 9909.951. Probably off circa
2400 like yesterday. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9899.8, March 21 at 2158, S9/+10 direct of distorted music,
2200 trace of timesignal, classic R. Cairo news theme, unreadable when
talking. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, March 21 at 1517, ``island music`` S5-S7
into BC remote, got to be SIBC running all-night; still past 1600 with
no ID break; next check 1627 faded to JBA, carrier offset -2v Hz. WRTH
and Aoki show SIBC break at 1200-1900; EiBi 1203-1900 except irr.
music at 1203-1500 only. LSR at remote approx. 1445 UT. This is well
after Ron Howard`s usual monitoring span until 1300 or so; he commonly
hears it as much as 6 hours earlier over full darkness path (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 12030 > 11940 > 9690 > 11685, March 21 at 2314, REE token
English on M/W/F, in decreasing order of strength and readability, the
NAm channel of 9690 ranking a poor third behind ME and SAm beams as
received direct here via indoor longwire during storm. An Amy Egan
feature about literature? From next week 17855 ex-9690 with quite
different propagatory challenges, and at 2200 ex-2300 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 12035.034, March 21 at 1417, VOT VP S5/S7 and off-frequency
as usual, toward end of 1330 English to Europe, and NAm beyond. In A22
from March 27 shall QSY to 15450v and earlify an hour to start at
1230, unlikely propagating any better. Something`s always erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11815.737, March 21 at 1442, carrier making big
het with 11815.0 Japanese, NHK. TRT Turkish has been colliding here
for years at 14-15 in B seasons, but much further off-frequency than
usual. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Can`t make out any
modulation on it. In A-22 the 13-16 Turkish broadcast moves to 9840v.
Ivo Ivanov also noticed TRT today on ``11815.7`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11540, March 21 at 1433, Turkish music jammer at
S9/+10 and can`t tell if Dengê Welat victim be under it, but nothing
on alternate 11530 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13563.5 CW, March 21 at 1403, HIFER beacon YSO from, where
else, Yellow Springs, Ohio, JBA and had to strain at least a minute
for certain copy; vs CODAR and meanwhile no K6FRC on 13565 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 9550.045, March 21 at 0603, VOA news in English,
S5/S7. Of course it`s SAO TOME E PRINCIPE site which can`t make
accurate frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2130 monitoring: confirmed UT
Monday March 21 at 0258 the 0230 on WRN North America webcast: from
next week should be at 0130.

Also confirmed UT Monday March 21 from 0301:28 on Area 51 via WBCQ
6160 minus 56 Hz = 6159.944, into Missouri SDR, but heavy ACI from
6165 RHC so need LSB or SAL mode to minimize it. If RHC be back on
6165 to stay for the next octomonth, everything on 6160 is in for a
bad spell: at least toward the east, RHC also suffers from WBCQ ACI.
Operating two nearby stations 5 kHz apart is asking for trouble and
would be avoided by competent frequency management: but Cuba refuses
to participate in HFCC, and once on a frequency, WBCQ heavily resists
any moving. After A-22 settles in, there should be a better spot for
WBCQ on 49m at night, if not 24/7. Next:

0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to NNW
2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

UNIDENTIFIED. 21280 USB, March 31 at 1935-1947+, TA ham working
pileups of N American east-coasters. They NEVER utter the DX call,
only their own until they finally if ever break thru the pileup. His
signal relatively weak, and doesn`t give his call often either. Once I
thought I heard OH0##, which would be the off-Finnish radio country of
Åland Island, but soon checking DX clusters can`t find any reports of
that or anything similar on this frequency. What frustration. Excuse
me, but I would not consider a ham contact complete unless each
station utter at least once, both calls. Is that too much to ask?
