From now and for an unknowntime, at least for 3 years, I will not use any radio except the remote SDRs forDXing. Recently we moved from the village back to the city in a space thatprohibits the use of desktop DXing, a place flooded by high levels of noise inthe LMHF bands. The radio is now used mostly for FM, for news listening.we runpolitically lively condition with always very interesting twits every day ..

Logs
** CANADA [and non]. 28153, Nov 8 at 2303, VE3IDS/B, CW beacon, relog
and on 28183, dash and XE1RCS/B, also relog, among many others now on
10m. I tend to pay more attention to foreign ones (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CHINA. 15360, Nov 8 at 2318, S9+10/20 Chinese with heavy flutter in
signal up and down, as well as sidewise = Doppler fluxuation. Then
similar but weaker S6/S8 sigs on 15740, 15775. Aoki shows all are CNR1
jammers against SOH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 7620, Nov 8 at 2323, Chinese at S9 with some Doppler flutter
but not as much strength flutter as the ones on 15 MHz. Aoki shows this
hour only is CNR1 jamming vs RFA in Tibetan via Tajikistan (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA. 10125 CW, Nov 8 at 2259, HK3QQ with his defective letters
in keyboard order. Had left the rx tuned here, so first thing audible
when onturned, much weaker than in the nightmiddle. After the letters,
sends BOGOTA COLOMBIA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Nov 8 at 2316, even R. Rebelde is missing. One should
read in the WOR iog, David Crawford`s evaluation of Cuban
transmitter/site situation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** JAPAN [and non]. 28475 USB, Nov 8 at 2308. JG1HQA, QSO in Spanish
with an XE in BCN. QRZ.com: ``JG1HQA Japan flag Japan, KOHJI SATO,
13-12 HEMIGAOKA, YOKOSUKA-CITY, KANAGAWA 238-0044, Japan`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27185, Nov 8 about 2120, into BSR1 SW caradio, gospel
music // 105.5 K288FX translator of KYLV K-Love 88.9 OKC, tnx to Enid
CB pirate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Fri Nov 8 at 2301, token English from SNR does not
fail to appear, VG S9+30 direct, news leading with the Valencia
flooding disaster and blaming governments for not giving advance
warning. Also sufficient on 12030, 17715, insuff on 17755, 2314 during
feature about students studying English leading to marriage (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.016+, Fri Nov 8 at 2300, VOT English not off
the air, S9 but too noisy direct, so I skip the olds. At 2333 into
UTwente when measured, S9+30/40, it`s Efsun the axentuated, 2335 outro
`That`s Why`, music; 2338 music and more music. 2353 s/off as if on
13635 at 1330. Something`s always awry at Ankara. 2354.4 IS briefly,
off by 2354.6* uncovering the 6CI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2268 monitoring. [Un?]fortunately
I`m awake at 1301 Friday November 8 so can confirm new first SW airing
on WRMI 15770, only S1 while I`m on indoor around-ceilings `long` wire
due to all-night T-storm.

Also confirmed Friday November 8 at 2133 on IRRS via AM Italia,
1322.996+, S7 between fadeouts into UTwente. Better into Parma SDR at
S9. Closest SDR to Villa Estense at Noale has been gone for quite a
while now. Also on WRMI webcast-only.

Also confirmed Friday November 8 at 2315 the 2300 on WRMI 9955, S9+20
direct but undermodulated. No jamming audible.

Also confirmed Friday November 8 at 2332 the 2330 on SW Radio,
Germany, 3975.003+, S8/9+5 into UTwente. Next:

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, Nov 9 by 0105, this WTWW-2 is on, also at 0219 and
0322 chex, so good prospect for WOR at 0400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, Nov 8 at 0727, NO signal from this WRMI, so no TOMBS.
Not bad propagation, because 9395 SMTV cult remains inbooming S9+6/7,
even into my indoor around-ceiling `long` wire due to T-storm (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. Pre-`AAAWWW` WBCQ chex UT Sat Nov 9 at 0053, into
NH SDR: zero on 3265 and 5130; 6160 -70 Hz with TOMBS?; 7490 -62 Hz =
7489.938, S7/S9 but heavy ACI from 7495 = VOA R Ashna in Pashto via
KUWAIT, slightly stronger S8/9+5, so check Maryland SDR instead
getting less ACI, 7489.939 S9/+15. Anyhow, I see that VOA is sked
0030-0100 only. 0059 FKB gets one-minute wrapup warning and does so,
bit of Chariots of Fire theme, canned ID, and 0100 JIP Wm Tell
Overture theme of `AAAWWW` - for some reason I can`t understand any of
what AW utters thru the theme. By 0103 it`s obviously new and live
from Fla, as they salute ``our hero, Elon Musk``, so it`s going to be
an hour of elexion gloating. 5130 is still not on, but recheck 0148
now it is, 5129.934 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1450, Nov 8 at 0802 UT, somestation occasionally peaking
above the graveyard pileup, ID as ``Greatest hits - oldies, KOKO,
Warrensburg`` and into Fox ``news``. That`s in northwest Missouri,
while there are several closers. NRC AM Log says ``Good Time Oldies -
Co Co``. Last logged over 9 years ago in 2015: ``1450, July 11 at 0225
UT, ad for something in ``downtown Warrensburg``, maybe during game,
atop the graveyard pileup. It`s KOKO, Warrensburg MO, outdistancing
about six closer 1450s including two in OK, at 450 km = 280 statute
miles`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs November 7-8, 2024; World of Radio 2268  View Printable Version
Friday, November 08 2024

Logs
** CANADA. 382 MCW kHz, Nov 7 at 0724 UT, ND beacon dash and YPL is
JBA vs the local noise level, 500 watts. unheard for some time, as
well as 346 MCW kHz, dash and and YXL, Sioux Lookout, Ont. YPL is 1000
watts at Pickle Lake, Ont. My last definite log of it was Jan 28, 2023
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. No signals from RHC early UT Nov 7, when I check the website
-- it`s still up and seems well designed with lots of stories and
listen-linx, not tried. But INTERESTING pages? Frequencies leads to
the B23 sked, not B24. Programming as usual presents NO info on
program titles, schedules, etc., but an even more far-out-of-date
transmission schedule including frequencies gone for many years. I
don`t see anything about quitting SW, either necessarily or
voluntarily. Then I see news that at the same time, hurricane Rafael
was crossing near Habana causing another blackout.

This page supposedly supplies continuous webcast with some program
titles, and English hours starting at 6 am and 3 pm only, but
all-Spanish in evening. Is that EST = 11 & 20 UT, or EDT = 10 & 19 UT?
https://www.radiohc.cu/audio_en_tiempo_real
I start it ``playing`` at 1750 but nothing heard (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 2268)

** U S A. 392 MCW kHz, Nov 7 at 0726 UT, ND beacon FMZ is JBA. It`s 25
watts at Fairmont / Beklof, Nebraska -- note that Beklof spelt
backwards is Folkeb. Last logged Feb 29, 2024.

420 MCW kHz, Nov 7 at 0730 UT, ND beacon FQ, 25 watts at Fairmont MN,
rarely heard but JBA now. Last definite log was Jan 24, 2022. Fairmont
is a few km N of the Iowa border, between Albert Lea and Worthington
on I-90 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, Nov 7 at 0215, no signal from WTWW-2. George
McClintock informed me at 0210, that the #2 transmitter is off the air

Meanwhile, WTWW-1 has been working well on 9930/5920, nothing but
TOMBS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2268) {By 0151 UT Friday Nov
8, 5085 is back on air, George says, with 60 kW. Still cannot get the
