![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ANDORRA [non]. 13730, July 2 at 2317, French talk and rock music, another R. Andorra revival, via AUSTRIA; tnx to tip from Jorge Freitas, Brasil on the WOR iog. Last we heard, this month was going to be only on 6180 earlier for Europe, as had not raised money for the N American repeat, and had no prior notice this would be on. Still going at 0007 July 3; or something else on 13730? VG into Maryland remote, S9+10/20 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BOLIVIA [and non]. 5952.4, July 3 at 0103, Texas Radio SW on 5950 WRMI has a considerable het on the USB side, evitable by LSB tuning. Got to be the sporadically re-active Radio Pio Doce on its signature split frequency. Can`t copy anything tho by tuning 5952.4 on USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BRAZIL. 9673.2v, July 3 at 0646, no signal from RVM here, but a JBA carrier a smidgin below 9675, which could be RVM or China. I`m on the less sensitive interior longwire due to storms in my area (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11670, July 3 at 0638, RHC English on supposedly Spanish-only frequency scheduled to end at 0500 per Aoki but EiBi shows an English hour at 0500-0600, which is certainly a sporadic error. Only // still on is 6165; while 5040 remains in Spanish. 11670 is S9/+10 but distorted. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, July 3 at 1448, RHC playing an American Standard tune very familiar but racking my brain trying to remember the name; S9+10/20 but unfortunately very distorted, boding ill for Esperanto to follow Sunday at 1500 but not rechecked. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. Another sporadic E opening I start hearing with Spanish from the west, UT July 3 on caradio, standard provisos; reference WTFDA FM Database: 97.3 at 0129, Mexmx in $ tereo. Nothing further but judging from PTA of others, most likely the only one in Sonora, but in the south, not close to Arizona, and none in BC, AZ, CA or NV: XHSOS-FM 97.3 EL SIFÓN SON MEX Spanish RANCHERA LA RANCHERA 25.0 kW ERP 76.96 m HAAT 31-17-19 109-40-28 --- 1512 km = 940 mi 96.7 at 0130, ID for ``Nogales, Sonora, XHN#S, 100,000 watts, La Mejor FM, un concepto de MPS``; 0137 Senado PSA, Soriana ad, ``la Mejor en FM``, music: XHNGS-FM 96.7 HERÓICA NOGALES SON MEX Spanish REGIONAL MEXICAN LA MEJOR 30.38 kW 19.2 m --- 1330 km = 826 mi 93.5 at 0131, ``XHPO, Super 93.5 FM`` ID with street address Juárez algo, zona Centro``. NO list in WTFDA db, but broad search on call, slogan and frequency leads to Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, which is in the NW close to AZ, but wrong frequency. They must have moved! IIRC, top end of Mex FM band is being cleared for community radio stations: XHPPO-FM 106.1 PUERTO PEÑASCO SON MEX Spanish SPANISH HITS SÚPER 15.0 kW 62.12 m 31-18-20 113-32-11 However, twits show 93.5 already in 2019y but illustrated with 106.1 logo! Instagram and FB have it on 93.5 and FB with address: ``Blvd. Freemont # 9. Col. Benito Juárez. CP, Puerto Peñasco, Mexico`` --- 1551 km = 964 miles 96.5 at 0153, JBA Spanish tropical song. Not AZ, but probably same city as 93.5: XHITA-FM 96.5 PUERTO PEÑASCO SON MEX Spanish REGIONAL MEXICAN LA BESTIA GRUPERA 40.56 kW 189.55 m 31-43-43 113-14-09 Several more from AZ, CA this opening yet to be researched (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6960 USB, July 3 at 0034, ``Dream x 3`` song, classic rock, S3/S4 vs storm noise level hitting S8. Off by 0055 check but then there are 6950 and 6955. Zero logs of 6960 tonight at HF Underground, but 24 h earlier, Ballsmacker Radio was widely reported (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6950 USB, July 3 at 0055, rough blues song, good signal; 0101 Wolverine Radio ID and SSTV, off by 0107 check. Multiple logs here including several takes of the same SSTV image at sign-off: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,99150.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6955 USB, July 3 at 0056, romantic/love song segués, much weaker S7 than 6950 Wolverine, past 0113, JBA by 0120. These say it`s Damn Skippy, with several copies of four different SSTV images: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,99152.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27184.4 AM, July 2 at 0033, S9+25 of country music as local Enid CBer is again a pirate relaying 103.1 KOFM, as later confirmed by //. At times a big het from another carrier, to jam it? I wonder if the YL DJ realize she now be a worldwide SW broadcaster? Sporadic E in play on 10m beacon band and shortly also on 88+ MHz FM, so should be DXable by skip; but there are a lot more CBers on 27185, blotted out here. 27184.460, July 3 at 1445, there it is again, S9+20 local signal, this time measured exactly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2145 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday July 3 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9 direct. Best wishes for health and good DX`` One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9940, July 3 at 0643, WTWW S9+10 at odd hour for this and // 5085, rock music and talking about it. Ricky Leong, Alberta, had just reported both to the WOR iog: ``During a break from the program "The History of Rock 'n' Roll," WTWW presented a six-minute newscast at 0500 UTC, July 3, 2022, introduced as "the latest news from Ukraine." The audio appears to have been generated by a text-to-speech program and the newscast was entirely "read" from a script, as no actualities (audio clips) were presented. The information contained in the newscast seemed consistent with war reports from major news organizations and wire services over the last two days. The sign-off indicated the report was prepared by a correspondent for the station in Ukraine, identified only by the first name Alexander — actual spelling unknown, obviously. This newscast was repeated some 90 minutes later. Ah yes, I should have mentioned: it was in English. I didn't think to check how well 5085 and 9940 were propagating into eastern Europe at that time. I'd guess 5085 had no chance but 9940 might have been alright, if ionospheric conditions were co-operating. 73, Ricky Leong, Calgary, Alberta, Canada`` What a coincidence that 0500 is the time WRMI used to relay UR1 with `Ukraine: Security Issue` on 7730, but this is something different (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. Another sporadic E FM DX opening July 3 at 0129-0210 from Arizona, SE California, yet to be compiled, except for Sonora, see MEXICO (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1952 UT July 3

Glenn Hauser logs June 28, July 1-2, 2022 |

Saturday, July 02 2022
![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Saturday July 2 from 1457 checking for LRA36 -- no signals into 4 Argentine nor 1 Uruguayan SDR, but I let the latter run until finally cuts on air S6/S8 at *1517 during music, 1520 canned sign-on, 1522 Antártida song. Switch back to LU4AA SDR which gets it even better, S3/S9, also much better than the other LUs. And I am the only User of this frequency. At 1526, info about Base Esperanza, temp range +8 to -30; winds 50 kph; 8 families overwinter at this base only; Station began in October 1979 as first SW station on the continent --- which is still a LIE, as AFAN 6012 started several years before. 1528 the `Sound of Silence` with new lyrix about Antca. 1532 YL says it`s program #9 of the 2022 season: how time flies, naming staff. 1536 contact info. 1541 This Week in History. 1545 ``Audaz`` ID with frequencies, ``Nacional, la radio pública``. 1546 song. 1549 acknowledge some email. 1552 interview a guy who has some background noise, like roaring surf? 1605 a song about Esperanza but maybe just hopeful not about the base. 1609 ID, about to give phone number? when chopped off the air; and never comes back as I let it play in background while I am mainly listening to `The Score`, cinemusic on KUCO. Not quite a full hour but this time managed a lot more than 18 minutes after sign-on Wednesday. Nor any OTH radar/jamming today. How about another try from 1800? Nothing at 1820 check into Montevideo (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CANADA. Several FM DX stations from Manitoba and Saskatchewan are intermixed with US in chrono order June 28 under USA [and non]: on 94.3, 92.1, 96.5, 88.1, 91.5, 92.7, 102.3, 90.3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 7, July 2 at 1525 UT, no signal from `local` KOCO ``5`` OKC, the ABC affiliate, into my rooftop antenna as routed thru STB DTV converter to one screen, no to my other DTV set. 2118 recheck now there is a BAD signal not enough to decode via STB. Underpowered? Intermittent? *2123 suddenly appears, turned up power or off backup transmitter? Just as an unpredicted little pop-up storm approaches us from the SW suggesting we should unplug (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2145 monitoring: confirmed Friday July 1 from 1815.5 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, Villa Estense, 1323 kHz but not on 918 or 207; S9+20 into nearby Noale SDR. But axual SW 7290 via Bulgaria never comes on from 1800.8! Temp or permanent drop? It`s back on next day Sat July 2 *1800.8 as usual JIP FSN. Anyhow, earlier on 1323: tune-in 1756 with US political discussion, no idea what program, until chopped off at 1800 for IRRS ``SW`` sign-on, and right into Feature Story News including Spotlight. 1805 IRRS ID again, song. 1813 starts an interview from UN Radio, chopped off at 1815 already for IRRS ID and then WOR. Meanwhile there was a slow SAH on 1323, maybe with music, from another station, Romania propagating again? After WOR finished at 1845, music; 1852 `Country Jamboree` DJ talk, but now there is CCI from algo talking in English. 1900 a tone from one of them and IRRS` closing Verdi theme. WOR 2145 also confirmed at 2030 on 1323 only, as Noale is offline, but S9+10/20 into Vinci/Parma SDR. The CCI could be this as just reported by Carlos Goncalves, Portugal: ``1323.0 2145-2155 01/7 G Smooth R, Brighton, 500 W. Songs. 25342 CG`` Also confirmed UT Saturday July 2 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/20 into Maryland SDR; also direct at 0151, noisy S9/+10. Missed checking UT Sat July 2 at 0400 on WBCQ Radio Angela, 5130; did anyone hear it? Also confirmed Saturday July 2 at 1600 on WRN N America webcast. Also confirmed Saturday July 2 after 1930 one next WRN to N America. Also confirmed Saturday July 2 ending at 2006 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Wentzville MO, S9+9 steady into nearby Warrenton SDR, so started circa 1937. Not confirmed Sat July 2 at 1948 on WRMI 15770 via Maryland SDR, instead classic rock, another show or fill music? Despite WOR still showing on the System B grid for 1930 Saturday on 15770, while the rest of the day and night, that applies to 9955. However, the System C grid shows Power of the Word Sat at 1930, certainly not what`s on now, tho I think it was last week; as WOR has not really aired Sat at 1930 for several weeks. Next: 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 1324vUT Sunday WMRI Europe via Ch 292 Germany 9670 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled? still June 26] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html For these noncommercial services, voluntary financial support is much appreciated; thanks this week to Terry Colgan, Austin, TX for a contribution via PayPal in US funds, but not necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com and says, ``Thanks for your continuing dedication to the radio listening hobby. Best wishes for health and good DX`` One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat July 2 at 0052 I tune in WBCQ webcast since `AAAWWW` usually gets down to business about this far into the 0000+ show - but Allan is talking about just getting back on air after a power failure in the Fla studio. Unclear whether all the Maine transmitters stayed on in meantime, no SW checked here now nor earlier. Just getting into emails from far-right extremists they attract, on to prayer and off circa 0100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Huge Sporadic E FM DX opening June 28, in fact two of them overlapping for a while from opposite direxions: might have provided double hop if I were not between them. As usual, all heard with my own ears in real time on my own radio, no recordings, no internet access for stream // or anything, until extensive research following three days for this report. On stock Nissan 2004 caradio, no RDS, vertical fender antenna only so no manipulation for DFing or polarization. Ultimately I will capture dozens of stations in SD, ND, MN, MB, SK, LA, TX, MT. Some IDs are circumstantial and will welcome any correxions or ID help. I do not count stations, states or anything, and am not in competition. Each DX log is a potential learning experience about geography, economy, broadcasting etc., so the details are what make it all worthwhile, unlike MEGO condensed one-liner loggings some editors insist upon. Main reference partially copied for each is the WTFDA FM Database. Distances are approx. licensed city-to-Enid, not site-to-site, from distancefromto.net WTFDA DB provides coordinates for each station, but it`s so much easier to let that site calculate from names, being sure none go haywire. All times strictly UT = CDT +5 Seeing that the MUF is well into the FM band, I go to the garaged car at 1610 UT June 28, tolerating the heat, and start tuning around. 94.1 at 1612, national adstring loud & clear, got to be DX. ``The Legend, 94-1, the rock station in northeast South Dakota for almost four decades``: KSDN-FM 94.1 ABERDEEN SD CLASSIC ROCK THE ROCK 94.1 100.0 kW 134.0 m [note that Legend does not appear in the db] 1010 km = 628 mi 94.3 at 1613, British accent with ``mail: 117 Lombard Street, phone 780-94-30``, ``94.3, Now Radio``, rock: CHNW 94.3 WINNIPEG MB CAN HOT AC 94.3 NOW RADIO 100.0 kW H&V but 100.0 m H only? since V is 0.0? --- 1503 km = 934 mi 94.9 at 1614, YL gospel huxter, British accent with rock music, ``The holy? summer series accessmore podcast`` and K-Love: KLRJ 94.9 ABERDEEN SD CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN K-LOVE 100.0 kW 136.0 m Adult Hits --- 1010 km = 628 mi 94.5 at 1615, rock/praise music, ``God only knows``. ![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Wednesday June 29 from 1430 on Buenos Aires remote, no signal until *1447 LRA36 cuts on amid song and nothing but musical préludes until 1500 sign-on, multi-lingual, in Ciclo Radial 2022, staff list. 1502 Antártida theme song. 1505 YL about Base Esperanza, population, school for some kids, again claims falsely to be first SW station in Antarctica. 1507 `Sounds of Silence` song with Spanish lyrix mentioning Antártida.
1509 starts being hit by noise bursts several times per minute at S7 = covering LRA36 as that is max peak of their SSB modulation. OTH radar, or jamming? Amid it at 1511 an ID, ``su compañía``. This is program #9 of the 2022 cycle. 1514 SR/SS times as 10:30/15:10. Contact info with phone numbers, etc. Abruptly chopped off air at 1518* and not heard further. The QRM could not be discerned on the wideband waterfall, but I checked just above and below: audible on 15480, audible but weaker tuned to 15470. Then it`s no longer heard either by 1537 when I give up. Maybe the Saturday repeat will not be curtailed and/or jammed? People are reporting getting eQSLs signed by the four woman staff. Kari Kallio`s, Finland, says power is 300 watts to a rhombic. However, Manuel Méndez, Spain, who usually can detect it direct at S1 level, got one too, as a reply not to a reception report but to an inquiry he sent before they ever resumed broadcasting, citing the date and time of his mail, when they certainly were not on air: ``Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain --- I had one too, a very special one, from a nonexistent transmission. On May 2, at 1023 hours, I sent them an email asking when the transmissions would start this season. We all know that they started a few days later, on Saturday, May 7. Well, a few days ago I received a QSL from LRA 36, confirming that I had listened to them on May 2 at 1023 hours. I reply that this QSL is incorrect, because that day they had no broadcast, and I simply sent them an email asking when they would start transmission this season. They answer me "Good evening... we are sending the QSL according to the emails listeners send... and you sent us an email at that time that we send you a QSL with the date and time you sent us the email." I send them another mail telling them that to send a QSL it had to be from a certain program and they have to have a reception report, explain to them what a reception report is, and also that they cannot send confirmation by a simple mail in which they are asked a question, and my QSL was false and did not correspond to reality. I no longer get an answer. Here is a compressed file of my very special eQSL about an nonexistent transmission...`` It seems their QSLs are worthless, just acknowledgments without any checking or vetting. (I wonder if same applies to the no-data automatic? eQSLs BBCWS has started for filling out a webform? Try it with a non-frequency and see what happen) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA.
