DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS updated Dec 4
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html

** CUBA. 13808 & 13672 approx., Dec 3 at 2250, extremely distorted
spurblobs with F# tone, traces of talk or musicmod in FM mode; plus
and minus 68 kHz intervals out of 13740 AM which is S8/9+10 in Spanish
sounding normal, // 13680 which is innocent bytransmitter.
Second-orders also audible much weaker circa 13876, 13604 but not
third-orders. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11850, Dec 4 at 0734, S9+10 of dead air, the SSOB by far,
obviously tonight`s prolonged RHC transmitter, nominally on air only
at 22-06 per Aoki and EiBi as Titán/Quivicán targeting Chile. None
others on 9, 6, 5 or 4 MHz bands. Something`s always wrong at RHC.
Could not help but notice this while checking 11835 for Vanuatu, q.v.
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9330, Sun Dec 4 at 0737, S9+10 of Spanish spy numbers
alternating with uteblaaps, and no sign of WBCQ-6/WLCR (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13700, Dec 4 at 1542, RHC S9/+10 here but no spurs.
Something`s not wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15230, Dec 4 at 1545, RHC is S7/S9 but just barely modulated;
15140, S6/S9 but undermodulated; 11760, S7/S9 and sufficiently
modulated. Since it`s Sunday, recheck at 1610 finds Esperanto on 15140
while 15230 is off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** INDONESIA [non]. 7780, Dec 4 at 0807, JBA carrier presumably during
WRMI`s new relay of VOI in English. We join the chorus asking for an
earlier hour on not the worst frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI [and non]. 846 kHz, Dec 4 at 0748, JBA carrier from R.
Kiribati, altho it`s Sunday usually silent; only other 9/kHz splits
detected are 882 and 1107, likely Canary Islands and Spain, now not
too far into the dayside yet (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 6185, Dec 4 at 0738, no signal from XEPPM a.k.a. R
Educación a.k.a. Señal Cultura México. Sure hope it`s temporary lest
it mark the end of an era, Mexico`s last SW station. Manuel Méndez,
Lugo, Spain, reported at 0912 Dec 3: ``MEXICO, 6185, Radio Educación,
not heard 0645-0810 the last two days`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935 USB, Dec 3 at 2241, DJ talking about Indonesia,
relays, S7/S9, only occasional words readable; novelty songs; S7/S9 vs
S8 HNL. 2248 mentions ``Whatever``, so probably R Free Whatever as in
many reports here:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,106239.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SAIPAN [and non]. 9900, Dec 4 at 1613, two signals beating on
slightly different frequencies, S6/S8 of dead air or JBM. RFA in
Mandarin scheduled this hour only on Sat & Sun, with CNR1 jamming
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SCOTLAND [non]. 5850, UT Sun Dec 4 at 0100-0200, `Encore` from
Radio Tumbril via WRMI - excellent hour of classical music. I always
listen tho don`t often log-report it. Brice Avery presents a wide
variety, from the familiar to the unfamiliar -- to me, as presented on
the Playlists, where you may select between the current one and the
last/next one: https://www.tumbril.co.uk/playlist-2
Other times on WRMI: UT Friday 0200 on 5850; UT Monday 0300 on 5950;
Tuesday 1300 on 15770; also on Ch 292, Germany (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.003, Sat Dec 4 at 2259-2356*, English from
VOT; today I am not distracted by Spainglish and OETA blows off
Oklahoma News Report for continuing pledge drive, so I listen to
entire hour and try to make notes vs the horrible heavy accents of the
speakers. I`m listening via UTwente on the way to NAm where reception
is always much better with fewer hops, S9+30, and VG mod except for
some hum and lo-fi mics; or some phoned in remotedly?

2259 IS; 2300 5+1 timesignal, s/on with full English transmission
schedule in usual jumbled order; 2301 news for 3 December; 2305.5
TRT/VOTuerkiye ``always with you 24 hours`` liner promo which appears
over & over with slight variations --- except when THEY ARE NOT EVEN
ON THE AIR! 2309, Turkish music break and first feature title sounds
like ``Firsts of Anatolia``, but apparently trying to say Forests
since it is about how walking in a forest or in greenery is good for
health as some scientist from Japan asserts, i.e. stress relief. About
Turkey`s largest long?-coast forest of beech and oak trees, then
calling it a mangrove, name and location never clear but something
like Inapa? on Black Sea Coast? Also good place for bird-watching and
seeing some endangered species.

*2311 CCCCCCI starts from E Turkistan, std denunciation; remains
audible but well below TRT. Segment over at 2314, Turkish song. 2318 I
check it on a Missouri SDR: S7/S9 with splash from 5950 WRMI. 2321
``with you`` liner, next segment intro sounds like ``Whipping Pile``
at first, then ``Gripping Files``??? about how to sleep soundly,
avoiding blue light, ideal temp 20 degrees, etc. 2327 song. 2330
``always by your side``, song; 2335 another ``always``; 2336
``Tuerkiye`s Geomat?? Products``? about rose oil from a certain place
sounding like Sparta, how it is harvested, refined and used in
cosmetix, desserts. 2338 music; 2342 ``with you``, song; 2347
multi-lingual ID filler reel; 2349 s/off with full English sked again;
2351 IS to 2355.6* uncovering Xinjiang PBS.

The Mighty KBC via Nauen cuts on at *0000 but suffers a lot more QRM
from that than TRT did. KBC is of course only one-quarter as Mighty as
TRT, 125 vs 500 kW and maybe too close to UTwente for most solid
one-hop skip, 408 km = 254 miles (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. 17780.017, Dec 4 at 1855, surprised to hear `GSTQ` = God
Save the Quing, must be some regal event on BBC ASCENSION to W Africa
from 1700; S7/S9, then echoey announcement from a venue, more music,
slightly off-frequency as have recalibrated R75 vs WWV; but chopped
off air midtalk at 1859.6; I was wondering if ToH news would
pre-empted for World Cup? nonsense? Amazing how major broadcasters
dispense with any finesse, no ``this frequency is now closing: please
retune to ---`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13927 USB, Dec 4 at 1541, ``MARS Radio`` contacting
``Aircraft 02``, latter unheard tho presumably simplex. And what and
where exactly is this MARS Radio? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 28250+ CW, Dec 4 at 1851, E E E E E DE KA3JOE/B CN
WI5V does not agree on exact frequency:
``28.2495 KA3JOE I BENSALEM, PENNSYLVANIA # 10W, DIPOLE relocated
formally W3ATV 28 Aug 10.`` Nor does QRZ.com!

``KA3JOE USA flag USA
Joseph W Ciesielski, 1176 Poquessing Avenue, Bensalem, PA 19020 USA

WELCOME TO THE KA3JOE BEACON !! Thanks for tuning in! The KA3JOE
beacon operates continuously on a frequency of 28.248.7 Mhz, at a
power level of 5 watts. The transmitter is an HTX-10 fed into a half
wave vertical at a height of 10 meters. I would perfer a good, old
fashioned, tree killing, non-electronic QSL, SASE to my QRZ address,
but I will also respond with an email promptly. It's more fun to
receive QSL Cards in the regular mail.

I have been interested in radio since I was 12 years old. Like many, I
started out on CB radio but got bored of that scene quickly. I then
discovered cars, girls, work, etc. and got side-tracked. Finally,
getting licensed at the age of 36 I rekindled my interest in radio and
have been playing with it ever since. Thanks again for tuning in to
the KA3JOE 10 METER BEACON @ 28.248.7 MHZ. Please QSL, SASE to my QRZ
address, Thank You & 73 Joe`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2167 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
December 3 starting at 2036 UT on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, steady S9+20 by
groundwave into nearby SDR.

Also confirmed UT Sunday December 4 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, VG S9/+10
with no noise into Maurice LA SDR, while the other one in LA is
hearing nothing! Still starts with loud noise burst overriding first
seconds of WOR playout on this frequency/System only.

Also confirmed UT Sunday December 4 from 0458 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
steady S9+22 by groundwave into nearby SDR. Next:

2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy

** U S A. 9955, Dec 4 at 1527, WRMI-3 is OFF. It was also off after
1530 Friday instead of WORLD OF RADIO. Skedgrid dated Dec 1 now shows
it off at 1500-2200, except Sat & Sun extended 1500-1700 - but this
*is* Sunday. As usual, contradicts the System B program skedgrid below
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 11835 & 7890, Dec 4 at 0735, still no signals from R.
Vanuatu harmonix, so 3945 is probably also off or elsewhere. Gary
Pence reported Dec 3: ``Glenn, I detected no Vanuatu on 3945 plus
harmonics at 0734z``; Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain, also reported at
0912 UT Dec 3: ``VANUATU, 11835, not heard 0700-0900 last two days``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Dec 3 at 1458, I`ve alarmed myself to
be up in time for LRA36: not on yet at tune-in via Argentine remote,
but cuts on at *1501 during song; 1503.5 standard canned announcement
tantamount to sign-on with staff names, ``Nacional, la radio pública``..
1504 themesong as I struggle to understand the lyrix but only part of
them; 1508 scripted reading unusually by a M voice; 1511 song; 1514
``Radio Arcángel San Gabriel`` ID, omitting ``Nacional`` but I guess
that be insignificant? Then live YLs greeting, headed by Maria
Eugenia, the 33rd program of the season. From now on, much of the talk
is about the ``Mundial``, as the SS insist on calling the World Cup.
Mundial is supposed to be an adjective, not a noun, and could apply to
countless events. Can you imagine us in English calling it ``the
World`` or ``the Worldwide`` without the ``Cup``?? MEGO but I attempt
to keep listening.

Remember, this is a playback from Wed. Temp as 1 degree, wind chill
minus 8, winds out of west at 37 kph. Sunrise at 2:30, penumbra.
1518.5 contact info; mentions México apparently as soccer opponent;
1523 song; 1525 ID, greetings to San Lorenzo; this is yerba maté day,
extolling the healthy chemical ingredients of their national tea,
consumed in 95% of Arg. homes; 1534 brief series of V in Morse, promo?
music; 1539 ID and Día del Teatro, as first one was founded in 1783,
and now there are over 300 in Buenos Aires; including cines? 1547
song, 1550 Esperanza Audaz ID; 1552 onward, long talk with M voice in
studio, all about Mundial, MEGO again. 1638 chanting and clapping,
song; 1640 staff list tantamount to sign-off, ``la radio hecha por
mujeres``, ``Nacional, nos une`` and off at 1641*. Gary Pence in TX
and someone in London UK were also on it via same remote (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 9664.343 variable, Dec 3 at 0748, RVM music S4/S7 and
wobbling audibly as I try to measure it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 5040, Dec 3 at 0656, JBA carrier, at first thought
Vanuatu, and another one at 0658 on 5020 which would be Solomons. I`m
listening carefully to 5040 for it to cut off circa 0659 like Vanuatu,
q.v., but not until 0700:49*!

10080, Dec 3 at 0656 already, RHC in English! here, S9/+10 but
undermodulated, distorted, while there is nothing but a JBA carrier on
what would be the fundamental 5040. Nothing on 11670 like OC late last
night. Not listening continuously to 10080 but at 0702 it`s off, while
10050 is now on, S9 but JBM -- and now there is a JBA carrier on 5025,
its fundamental. The fact that 10080 changed to 10050 while JBA
carriers changed from 5040 to 5025 confirms that these are not
Vanuatu, at least not tonight.

I cannot emphasize strongly enough how extraordinary are these 5/10
MHz Cuban harmonix, not like ``normal`` ones which are always much
weaker on the multiple than the original, unless unusual propagation
factors intercede. This demonstrates that the doubles are not mere
vestiges but the transmitter is axually tuned, deliberately or
incompetently, to the second harmonix. Programming on 10050 presumably
R. Rebelde, but not confirmed as S9 but JBM, still at 0743 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Dec 3 at 0754, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati
and no other 9/kHz split TP or TA carriers audible in quick bandscan
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALI. Posted to the WOR iog Dec 3 at 0606:

[WOR] 5995 Radio Mali reactivated --- Mali is back, tnx for tip. Via
Canary SDR, tune in at 0555 already on in Bambara? talk, 0557 music.
2022 WRTH nominal opening is 0555. VG S9 signal and modulation. 0600
song continues, no news on hour. 0602 French ID Radio Mali, cock
crowings, back to non-French. 0605 more nice music. Usually well
audible at this time direct, not yet checked. Should also be good for
weekly news in English Saturday from 1850 or 1855. Glenn. Viz.:

``Sent: Saturday, December 3, 2022, 01:43:49 AM GMT+1
https://youtu.be/9jwlBBI3xLY
--
Sérgio Dória Partamian
Mairiporã -SP - Brasil``

Via Canary some QRM splash from 6005 BBC English very strong,
scheduled 05-06 UT only via Ascension per Aoki, Vatican per EiBi and
HFCC. At 0655 I check 5995 direct: S9/+10 with 6000 Cuba already off.
From the California coast, Ron Howard reports hearing only ``KOREA
SOUTH. Echo of Hope - VOH, Noted as early as 0601 UT, with the
signature theme sound of foghorn, on 5995 kHz``. From Dec 5 that may
shift to 5990 or 6000. Other reports:

``Via the NA5B SDR at Washington, just before 0800 UTC today, I heard
Arabic music on 5995. Mali reactivated. Checked back at 5995 and Mali
was off, matching listed 0800 sign-off. Harold Sellers, Vernon, BC``

``Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain, Log in Friol, NW of Spain: MALI, 9635,
Radio Mali, Bamako, 1714-1721, 03-12, African songs, Vernacular,
comments. 35433``.

At 1850 Sat Dec 3 I`m back on the Fuerteventura, Canarias SDR at 5995.
Splash from music on 6000 requires LSB tuning, S3/S5: that would be
NHK Japanese via France at 17-19. 5995 seems in French but by 1852 I
recognize some English despite M`s heavy accent, ``Two thousand
twenty-one``. CCI from music, self-imposed? makes it even worse.
Alternates with W voice, just as unreadably accented. 1903 mentions
``next week``, apparently closing, music, French and more music with
talk CCI, so that must be from Echo of Hope, S Korea running long
hours but now a darkpath; or maybe the 24h? Studio Denakker in Holland
per EiBi. NONE of these 5995s are in HFCC, not even Mali. Manuel
Méndez, Spain, says it was `English Magazine` from 1851 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Dec 3 at 0656, no signal from VON. Gary Pence
agrees, none either at 0734 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2167 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday December 3 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, only, VG S9+20/10 direct.

Also confirmed UT Saturday December 3 at 0500 on WBCQ R. Angela, 5130
minus 13 Hz = 5129.987, S6 into Maryland SDR, so only fair. The same
degradation for preceding 0330 `Greek Music Refuge` and 0400 `FTIOM`.

Also confirmed Saturday December 3 at 1700 on WRN N America webcast.

** U S A. (6160-), UT Sat Dec 3 at 0100, monitoring WBCQ Area 51
webcast for `AAAWWW`: starts with a few seconds of the `Twilight Zone`
theme -- can that be accidental? before morphing into `William Tell
Overture`. Usual chat between AW & AW. He`s demonstrating the cough
button at 0121 but doesn`t realize he`s left it on, so we can barely
hear him for the next six minutes, picked up by her mic, altho he said
the c.b. was supposed to mute all the mics in studio. At last, her
voice is primary! At one point they can`t resist insulting all
Democrats as Communists trying to do away with the Constitution and
Freedom --- despite the fact that all Retrumplicans are Fascists
trying to accomplish exactly that!!! Angela, a Canadian, makes the
most extreme remarx, and Allan tries to moderate them slightly. 0137
finally datestamp as 2 of Dec YOOLF 2022. 0148 reading some Free Radio
Weekly items just published. 0155 says WBCQ are looking to hire
another engineer, as one was electrocuted and another is recovering
from illness. Hard to qualify, as must know how to work on high
power/high voltage SW transmitters (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, Dec 3 at 0656, no signal here from R. Vanuatu;
currently on 5040 instead? JBA carrier there but think it`s exciter
instead from CUBA, q.v. At 0701 nothing from RV harmonix either on
7890, 11835. Gary Pence, KM5X, agrees Dec 3 checking remotes: ``Glenn,
I detected no Vanuatu on 3945 plus harmonics at 0734z.`` Dec 3 at
0912, Manuel Méndez says, ``VANUATU, 11835, not heard 0700-0900 last
two days`` and Gary Pence agrees (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA [and non]. ``Hi Glenn, Just a quick word about the
compilation of logs for LRA36 on my DX Guides site. DX Guides is a
personal site that I maintain as a hobby, it has nothing to do with
the British DX Club.
http://www.dxguides.info/

As to the content, it’s all my own work from start to finish, mistakes
and all (which can be corrected once I am aware of them). However,
some folks take an interest and are a great help with news and updates
direct.

Yes, the LRA36 reports will continue into 2023 and beyond, as will
those for Radio Vanuatu, which are a little way behind at the moment.
I will add others next year.

Your logs and weekly reports are very useful indeed, as are the posts
of many others to the WOR iog. Thanks. Best regards, Tony Rogers``
(via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** CANADA. 362 MCW kHz, Dec 2 at 0736, dash and SB, 500-watt ND beacon
at Greater Sudbury, Ontario, JBA vs HNL (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11670, Dec 2 at 0723, S9+10/20 of dead air, SSOB by far on
25m, everything else JBA carriers with degraded propagation. Far
overtime pulse jamming JBA on 11860. Only Cuban SWBC still on, none on
4, 5, 6, 9 or 10 MHz. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Dec 2 at 0727, S9+10 open carrier from VON. As
others note it can be quite sporadic starting at 0600, or not (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 88.7, more about the KJIL translator in Enid which came
on air a few days ago. It is mentioned in the WTFDA FM db, not under
88.7 but 88.3!

``K202BY relay of: KJIL 99.1 88.3 ENID OK CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN /
RELIGIOUS TEACHING YOU'RE WITH FAMILY 0.0 0.25 0.0 80.0 36-23-57
97-52-48 CP for K204GU 88.7 expires 6/1/21``

It may have ``expired`` a sesquiyear ago, but without embargo it just
came on the air -- and, 88.3 is now off, so in effect it`s a QSY. Not
clear why they would want to move as it seems there is more QRM on
88.7. But that frees 88.3 for some DX, and rids 88.1 KWOU Woodward of
ACI somewhat improving KGOU relay accessibility into Enid; but there
is still CCI from Oasis in Moore.

Note that 88.3 was 250 watts vertical only. FCC Query for 88.3 as a CP
for 88.7 shows 140 watts horizontal only, and different GC: 36-24-29
97-59-56, i.e. further north and west. I get/got them both no matter
what the antenna polarity.

Dec 2 at 2259 UT, I`m trying the DX398 with telescopic only, to find
dead air on 88.7 from ``KJIL``; and without really trying at a certain
angle, there is classical music! I bet it`s KWTU Tulsa - yes, soon ID
as KJIL resumes mod. Of all the 88.7s around here, KWTU would be most
desirable, but it`s only 5/5 kW ERP, designed for Tulsa area only as
an offshoot of KWGS 89.5, both Public Radio Tulsa. Checking APRS map
an hour later, there has been some tropo boost in the Enid/Tulsa/OKC
triangle.

Looking at all the Enid listings in WTFDA FM db: still has K226BR on
93.1 as relay of KIMY 93.9 tho marked as ``silent`` -- has been gone
for years but may still be licensed? KQOB 96.9 still shown as relay
of KZLS 1640, tho that ceased months ago as I reported at the time.
KQOB went from rock music to far-right talk // 1640, but then 1640
flipped to sports talk // 1390 KCRC, leaving only Eagle 96.9 with the
far-right talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 756 kHz, Dec 2 at 2135, since I have Noale, Italy SDR up
to check WORLD OF RADIO on 1323, 918, 207 kHz, I then tune it here for
the new HQ transmitter from SE Algeria, unknown power. Instead, strong
signal of a boogie-woogie song in English! R. România Actualitatsi is
listed, so I pick a // at random to check, and there she is too, much
weaker on 945. WRTH shows 756 as 400 kW from Lugoj (Boldur) = but not
at night; 945 as 15 kW from Miercurea Ciuc (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Dec 2 at 2300, since it`s Friday, time for another
token English from REE. First on the DX398 with a little help from
reelout, it`s hardly solid here with fading; a bit better off the back
to ME on 12030, and 11940 to SAm also audible. Missed the preview, but
after news at 2308 first feature is about a stupid ballgame player.
2321 recheck on the main rx, quite different reception, nothing on
12030 or 11940. 9690 has Justin interviewing an author, outro as Alan
(sp?) W. Moore, of ``Art Worker`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Dec 2 at 2321, VOT is S9+10/20 of undermodulated
music; with deep fading at 2350 multi-lingual ID filler reel; 2352
sign/off with jumbled full English sked; 2354 IS; 2356.6 starts IDing
in German but chopped off as the second one starts at 2357* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6993 AM, Dec 2 at 2323, JBA carrier, time for another
occasional presumed log as explained in DXLD 16-16, of WH2XWF, an
experimental 164-watt transmitter with several locations in Florida,
to study ionospheric disturbances (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2166 monitoring: ``From: Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees.
Dear Glenn: Confirming World of Radio #2166, WRMI:

5850, 0830, 0840, 0855 (55433-4), 0859, November 25 [Fri]
5950, 0130, 0144, 0158 (55434), 0159, November 28 [Mon]
9395, 0132 rough going, November 29 [Tue]
9955, check, noise, 2330, 2344, 2353 (45433), 2359, November 29 [Tue]
5850, frequency empty, 1030, November 30 [Wed]
9395, confirmed barely heard jingle, 0130, December 1 UTC 2022 [Thu]
(Lemke, Richard -AB)``

WORLD OF RADIO 2167 monitoring: confirmed first SWBC, the 0330 UT
Friday December 2 on WRMI 7780, tuned in just in time at 0358, S9
direct vs S7 HNL here.

Also confirmed Friday December 2 at 0830 on WRMIs: 5010, S9+10 direct;
5850 S9+10/20. 7780 is JBA but I think I hear a bit of music after the
first minute so can`t be WOR, unlike last week when on all three. No,
I did not want to be awake at this hour but found myself such, so
might as well check me.

Later learnt that WRMI has just started relay of Voice of Indonesia!
at 08-09 on 7780. Unfortunately this remains WRMI`s worst frequency
here, off the side of southwestward beam. Nor hardly helpful in the
middle of our night for North Americans. From WRMI on FB Dec 1:

``WRMI Begins Relays of the Voice of Indonesia --- WRMI has begun
testing relays of the daily English-language program of the Voice of
Indonesia. The one-hour program can currently be heard at 0800-0900
UTC on 7780 kHz. While beamed to Central America, this frequency can
often be heard well in North America, Hawaii and Oceania at that hour.
Reception reports from listeners would be most welcome. It is possible
that these relays could be expanded in the future to additional times
and frequencies, as well as additional languages including Spanish.``

WOR 2167 not confirmed Friday December 2 at 1530 on WRMI 9955, not
checked until 1555 direct to find it`s OFF the air, while the other
31s, 9395 & 9455 remain loud and clear. And it`s too late to get the
computer running for check of WRMI`s only frequency meriting webcast,
but probably.

Confirmed Friday December 2 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, into
nearby Noale SDR, S9+5/10 but with ripple SAH from another transmitter
altho not much modulated QRM. On 918 kHz there are 2 or 3 weak signals
but cannot recognize me as one of them; also 1 kHz het from 917
Nigeria. Next:

Thanks this week to Chuck Ermatinger for a contribution via PayPal in
US funds, but not necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330-, Dec 2 at 0725, JBA carrier, presumed WBCQ, either QRP
or propped out; while southerly signals WRMI on 9395, 9455 and 9955
are good; and if Cuban Spy, would also have been much stronger, cf
11670 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Ex-5085 et al., another WTWW update from George McClintock,
my scribbled notes paraphrased from phone conversation early UT
December 2:

#2 transmitter is now ready to run at 100 kW; #1 maybe 85 kW. You
can`t really tell the difference by listening until maybe 50 kW or
less. The power modules on #2 were burnt to hell. There was a massive
cooling water leak, spilt all over the floor. They had many gallon
jugs of distilled water on hand to compensate. #3 antenna is severely
damaged, for the Harris 100 transmitter, could run low power only. The
antenna matching device for #1 had been disconnected, and the cover
missing, but it seems to work. Everything is wrong. Various other
missing parts had been hidden, now found. US SW stations are supposed
to pay a frequency coordination fee each season, but this was not done
by WTWW, maybe about $ 200K behind, with 25% penalties building up!
This does not go directly to FCC but to USG general fund. Any
purchaser would have to clear that debt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 9664.4, Dec 1 at 0735, singing ID of ``Rádio Voz
Missionária`` at S7/S9. Lately has been closer to 9665. Wolfgang
Bueschel had it on 9664.697, Nov 30 at 0019 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6165, Dec 1 at 0747, S9 of dead air, only Cuban SW frequency
still on air. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** INTERNATIONAL INTERNET. It`s hard to believe how eager some are to
``celebrate`` Xmas for whole month of December and even beyond, but
the selective listener will find some worthwhile music from webcasting
public radio stations, such as Portland OR, [UT -8]:
https://www.allclassical.org/spotlights/2022-holiday-programming/
And NYC, [UT -5]:
https://www.wqxr.org/story/spend-your-holidays-wqxr-2022/

I have not yet found any holiday programming page at several other
classical stations, but maybe shall shortly.

Another to look out for is the Paul Winter Consort Solstice Special
from the Cathedral of St John the [allegedly] Divine. PWC website says
info will be up shortly. They usually have more than one performance
leading up to Solstice date, but the broadcast may be from a previous
year after a lot of post-produxion be completed. Icarus, (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Dec 1 at 0748, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati;
no other TP/TA splits noted (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 88.7, UT Dec 2 at 0030 and anytime for the past few days,
stronger gospel huxter than usual, QRMing what had been a semi-open
frequency used for my RF feeder around the house. Now I listen to it
long enough to hear frequent ``KJIL`` IDs and Xmasmx, not the marginal
11 kW signal from KLVV Ponca City. WTFDA db shows a 50 watt translator
in Fairview, but it should not be so strong here; as well as a
200-watt KJFV in Fairview with no further info but surely mutually
exclusive. Nothing in Enid on 88.7 per WTFDA.

But FCC FM Query has it!
K204GU KML/Fill/Text 204 D FX 88.7 MHz CP

GREAT PLAINS CHRISTIAN RADIO, INC.

KJIL stands for JesusIsLove, an increasing gospel-huxter network based
in Copeland KS, 100 kW on 99.1 rarely audible here. 0059 ID ToH
mentions a bunch of KJ## non-translators only. And on one of my
portables there is quite a clash with KLVV even here in Enid (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
