The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Radio Society (W1MX) and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) are hosting a series of public lectures on the technology applications and history of radio. Speakers will hail from throughout the MIT community and industry to discuss topics ranging from the design of modern wireless communications systems and 5G, to software defined radio and satellite communications, to shortwave radio propagation, space weather, Radio Astronomy and more.

Principles of Radar Dr. Frank D. Lind is a Research Engineer at MIT Haystack Observatory where he works to develop and use radio science instrumentation. At the Observatory he leads many technical efforts involving software radio

Space Weather Dr. Anthea J. Coster is an Assistant Director and principal research scientist at the MIT Haystack Observatory. Her research interests include space weather, ionospheric and atmospheric coupling, and GPS positioning and measurement accuracy. She received her Ph.D. in Space Physics and Astronomy from Rice University in 1983, under the guidance of William E. Gordon, the founder of the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico.

LWBC also doing much better tonight than recently here in S. AZ despite the high static crashes. 0305 utc check:
171 Morocco weak, use of R75's AM sync giving good reception. 198 BBC very poor/poor 252 Algeria medium; can even use R75 AM sync with only mild NDB channel het--it takes a strong signal for that to happen on these NDB freqs.
