Hauser
** CANADA [and non]. 1010, CFRB, reply from Karl Zuk to my reports:

``Hello Glenn: Regarding CFRB 1010 --- I live 45 miles due north of
New York City and WINS is supposed to be a dominant 50 kW signal. I am
supposed to be within the WINS nighttime primary coverage area.
CFRB and WINS battle each other every night - Always have - Always
will. I can usually null both of them apart to listen, but this can't
be done with an omni-directional car radio.

Why this allocation was ever permitted, I don't know. As far as I can
tell, CFRB simply stays on day pattern 24/7. For all intents and
purpose - especially for casual listeners - no one would seriously
listen to this maniacal mix.

I have a family home in Central Michigan near Bad Axe. Here it is CFRB
dominant on 1010 days. At night, if you listen carefully and null - it
is not hard to log WINS underneath CFRB. They should be thought of as
the Gemini twins of 1010 kHz. What fun.

What I miss is WINS HD Radio. It was a fun experience when WINS used
to lock in with HD digital. All the co-channel scramble would
instantly disappear - leaving WINS in the clear and hi-fi - but it
rarely held on for any amount of time - day or night. Thanks for
listening - Karl Zuk`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 2598 USB, Sept 15 at 0643 UT, ``no gale warnings``, VP and
off, from one of the Canadian CG stations in Newfoundland or vicinity,
but trouble is none scheduled at this overnight gap hour in
https://dxinfocentre.com/mb.htm under Met Area 4 -- unless it`s VCP4,
3000 watts from Placentia, scheduled at 0737, but maybe that means
during standard time so a real hour earlier during DST? Anyhow glad to
be hearing something here again after a long noisy summer, now abating
somewhat. Checked 2749 USB first but nothing there: from Nova Scotia
area, usually better closer signals (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 6754 USB, Sept 15 at 0626, CHR Trenton Military, still the
same set of ``No Report Received`` as much earlier on 15034 USB ---
looping that for hours and hours? At 0628 UT cited time as ``0625
zulu``! Then NRRs from: Comox, Victoria, Vancouver, Shearwater(? maybe
misheard as that`s Halifax). Fortunately we still have Gander
funxioning properly with same announcer, broader non-military airports
on 6604 USB.

15034 USB, Sept 15 at 1445, Trenton finally working with reports from
Greenwood, Gander... (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 13530, Sept 15 at 1449, Chinese S5 vs CODAR S9 peaks, i.e.
CNR1 jammer against Sound of Hope. Also weaker S4/S5 on 13130 & 13020,
the usual trio. This time I patrol all WOOB ranges between 7.9 and
16.1 MHz and do not hear a single other one, not even as JBA carrier.
Get with it, ChiCom! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6140, Sept 15 at 0632, JBA carrier, no doubt leapfrog mixing
product of RHC English 6060 over 6100 another 40 kHz beyond. 6060 is
S9+10/20 undermodulated, 6100 is S9+20/30 with only a trace of
modulation. Nothing detected on 6020 for reverse leap.

6230, Sept 15 at 0635, RHC English JBA on leapfrog mixing product of
6100 over 6165 another 65 kHz beyond; 6165 is S9+30. 6035, JBA
carrier, which would be reverse leap of 6165 over 6100 another 65 kHz
below.

5955, Sept 15 at 0637, JBA carrier, which would be leapfrog mixing
product of 6165 over 6060 another 105 kHz beyond. Nothing detected on
6270 which would be revere leap of that. All this is happening at
Bauta site. 6000, if it were still on, would not be participating as
it`s from Quivicán. The Other Side:

``Cuba left off the list of suggested tourism destinations
Varadero was chosen as the world's second most 'ideal beach', but did
not even appear as a recommended travel destination.
Roberto Álvarez Quiñones, Miami 12 Sep 2022 - 19:01 CEST`` ...
https://diariodecuba.com/economia/1663002060_42186.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. As we are almost out of summer, I wondered whether
there could still be any DX propagation in the middle of our night on
16 m? Yes, the two OSOB Talata relay frequencies as better heard
previously, which have a large trans-equatorial advantage.

17790, Sept 15 at 0621, JBA S5/S6, i.e. AWR French 0600-0630; and:
17530.024, Sept 15 at 0622, JBA carrier offset as usual, i.e. BBCWS in
English, 0600-0800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 15 at 0630 direct, VON is off again/still.

[and non] 7255 minus 67 Hz = 7254.933, Sept 15 at 1724 into Canary
SDR, VON is on in English, S8/S9 but VP in noise. 1801 recheck is off
leaving VP S5/S6 music only +002 Hz, i.e. Xizang PBS, ChiCom-occupied
TIBET, scheduled until 1805: and yes, cuts off at 1805*. Still no VON
at 1830 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [non]. 1120, Sept 15 at 0645 UT, KMOX St Louis totally in
the clear, no KETU daytimer Spanish CCI tonight (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2155 monitoring: confirmed UT
Thursday September 15 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/15 into Maryland
SDR.

Also confirmed UT Thursday September 15 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, S7/S9
with storm crashes into Maryland SDR. A gospel huxter played right up
until 0130 with no ID break, cut to WOR. Then checking into Bonaire
SDR, better S9+5/15, but worse by 0150 with noise increase.

WOR 2156 should be ready for download early UT Friday September 16 and

Glenn Hauser logs September 13-14, 2022  View Printable Version
Thursday, September 15 2022

Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Wed Sept 14 at 1450 nothing yet into
Argentine remote, but LRA36 cuts on S4/S8 at *1452 amid musical
prélude; 1500.5 standard opening with sign-on, 4-lingual warning that
it`s in Spanish, 2022 cycle of Esperanza Audaz, staff names; 1502
Esperanza themesong I never tire of hearing; 1505 brief scripted
almost poetic piece also about memorias; 1506 song with martial beat;
1511 ID with ``su compañía``, into live YL chat, intro as the 20th =
vigésimo programa of the season; also mention 21st? maybe referring to
next week. 1513 geo coordinates, date as 14 Sept, temp 1 degree, or
low? was -6, winds from north at 20 kph gusting to 37; 1516 contact
platform info; 1518 homage to some rock star; 1520 ID with ``Nacional,
nos une``; this-week-in-history starting with something on Sept 11,
1888; International Chocolate Day, etc. 1527 song; 1531 ID,
``Nacional, nos une`` again; historical talk about Sarmiento in the
1800s; 1544 weather again; 1545 song now peaking at S9 but chopped off
air at 1546.4*, never back by when I quit at 1611. Something`s always
audacious at Antarctica (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 1010 kHz, Sept 14 at 0628 UT, adstring atop CCI, trying to
hear any AC 904 or Jax refs from WJXL, but 0630 finally a ``NewsTalk
10-10`` ID, CFRB Toronto again. It seems one cannot find a pattern map
thru FCC which merely linx to CRTC, but I again point out that per NRC
Antenna Pattern Book, CFRB`s at night is very unfavorable thisaway,
most of it going NE up, or down, the St. Lawrence. But Canadian AM
stations are notorious for not `protecting` USA co-channels as
supposedly licenced. Of course major competitor in the east is WINS
NYC into Atlantic, never heard here; and KXEN Festus no longer matters
but did protect CFRB. Aha, this
https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=CFRB&service=AM&s=F&h=N
shows a very different CFRB at night, considerable lobes to SW as well
as NE, null toward WINS. I wonder what 1010 be like in mid-NY state.
However, this shows coverage *area*, not pure antenna pattern, so
obviously influenced by proximity to two Great Lakes (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 15034 USB, Sept 14 at 2220-2224, CHR, Trenton Military
robot uttering ``no report received`` over and over from: Bagotville,
Trenton itself!, Ottawa, Toronto, 4 times in a row, restarting
``Terminal Forecast`` for a 5th run; then ID and timecheck, ``Aviation
Weather``, nothing but NRRs for Calgary, Cold Lake, Winnipeg,
Edmonton, and repeating that once more before I quit. Obviously
nohuman is paying attention. Let`s hope that Canadian Forces
monitoring of, say, incoming ICBMs, be a bit more efficient. BTW, I
often tune across no signal at all on 15034 and wonder if it`s even on
air as much as ``required``. Likewise night channel 6754-USB (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6165, Sept 14 at 0243, RHC S9/+10 of dead air in English,
while 6000 is S9+20/30 of undermodulated English. At 0245, 11670 is
also dead air at S7/S9, possibly would be English instead of correct
Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Sept 14 at 0253, R. Rebelde is off; 5040 RHC is weak;
4765 R. Progreso S9+10/20 more or less normal, the 60-m situation in
electricity-short Cuba where something`s always wrong (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9439.994, Sept 14 at 2230, R. Cairo, S9/+10 of humwhine only
into Virginia SDR, no attempt at program modulation; at 2210 direct
had been a JBA carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Sept 14 at 0621, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati
and no other 9/kHz splits at this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 6179.963, Sept 14 at 0246, JBM music, probably La Voz
Alegre MWV most likely to be off-frequency, rather than CRI Russian
via East Turkistan, std denunciation; nor RNA Brasil apparently off,
leaving also a JBA carrier on 11780 which could be Romania in Spanish.
RNA nominally until 0305* on both (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA [and non]. 7255-, Sept 14 at 0637, VON is on but poor S7/S9
undermodulated. Sept 14 at 1850 check via Canary SDR, it`s absent.
1857 huge S9+20 carrier from China cuts on prior to 1900 fanfare and
Turkish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1120 kHz, Sept 14 at 0627 UT, ``clear`` channel
KMOX with heavy QRM in Spanish, mentions 97.9 so surely KETU
Catoosa/Tulsa, 10 kW ``daytimer`` or maybe only 7 kW ``critical
hours``, neither applicable now. 97.9 is the 250-watt translator
K250BN wagging the dog of 1120. Have caught them cheating before to
KMOX` detriment. The pair make a fast SAH counted about 8 Hz. MWoffset
shows 7 Hz, with KETU on 1119.9932, but that was in January 2019
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.001, Sept 13 at 2226, VOT is on via UTwente, heavily
accented YL about Türkiye/Hellas relations. (No, Greece does not
really demand we call it Hellas in English; but why not?)

9830, Sept 14 at 2230, NO signal from VOT in English to Virginia SDR.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2155 monitoring: Confirmed Tuesday September
13 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, after BBB ID claiming this be ``9395`` ---
obviously he is not paying attention, then `Everglades` ID, S8/9+10
into Maryland SDR with lite pulse jamming at first, and not much worse
by 2256, and in fact Radio Libertad still well audible atop it, at
least for all the Cubenidians.

Also confirmed Tuesday September 13 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/20
into Maryland SDR. Compared to whatever be on 9955 now, the modulation
level on 9395 is lower.

Also confirmed Wednesday September 14 from approx. 2100:22 on WBCQ
7490 minus 71 Hz = 7489.929, S7/9+5 into Virginia and Maryland SDRs.
Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

New WOR 2156 should be ready for download early UT Friday September 16
and first SWBC at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7730 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re W6F, 18164.2 USB, Route 66 On the Air special: main
w6jbt.org site shows dates Sept 10-18 only. There are many more
participating in the W6# series from CA to IL including some in OK,
even the tiny corner of KS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9940, Sept 14 at 0235, WTWW on here instead of 5830 with
gospel huxterism, while 5085 is a-rockin. S9+30/40 with caller
discussing weather in South Dakota ``this morning``, hard to tell if
new or similar season decades ago from the Scriptures for America
archive; then right into assertion that ``Satan has done a great job``
concerning 501C3s, the ``anti-Christ church`` and the good ole days of
blue laws so you could not dine out after church Sundays. I guess it
be the #1 programming if not the #1 transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 5970, Sept 14 at 0242, WEWN Spanish still absent. However,
Ivo Ivanov reports it in the morning before change to day frequency
12050: ``Very good signal of WEWN-3 Radio Católica Mundial in Spanish
on 5970 kHz via Vandiver, September 13:

https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2022/09/wewn-3-radio-catolica-mundial-on-5970_14.html
1200-1356 on 5970 EWN 100 kW / 160 deg to CeAm Spanish, instead of
00-14 UTC via SDR Boca Raton, FL in USA``

<3 minute clip implies it cut on air at 1200. But from his format you
cannot tell whether he monitored the entire span, or just assumes it.
BTW at this time there was a lot of English liturgy being translated,
or not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7932+, Sept 14 at 0642, R. Vanuatu still here on 2 x
3966+, S4/S5 music vs CODAR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Sept 14 at 0301
finds 1044 kHz only. I was thinking that Spain was there but no more
than 5 or 10 kW listed now; used to be 300 kW Morocco but inactive as
of WRTH 2016. Biggest power now is 200 kW from much further Ethiopia,
which should be on by now if not 24h, and today`s Mekele sunrise 0311
UT. 1044 still audible at 0340, when I`m not getting any Benin on 1476
or 1566, nor those at listed *0320.

One more TA JBA carrier, tho, on 855 at 0341, axually sounds like two
beating. SPAIN, RNE1 synchros are here, 300 and 50 kW and several less
per WRTH 2022. A few months ago, several ``300`` kW RNE outlets were
being powered down, but my follow-up that some of them were already
listed at less than 300 was hardly noticed. Anyhow, I expect TA JBA
carriers will be much less evident now on such as 585, 684, 738, 855.
774 used to be a good spot too but already only 100 kW max (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9439.995v, Sept 13 at 2150, R. Cairo is back on air, S9+25
into UTwente, presumed English but totally extremely distorted.
Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY [and non]. 9670, Sept 13 at 0613, pop music at S4/S6,
presumably Channel 292, which most of the time propagates Brother
HyStairical while pretending not to -- but this is not // 7570 TOMBS
on WRMI, so what is sked now on `292? Specific program sked for this
date and hour at
https://www.channel292.de/schedule-9670-khz/
shows this in a block covering 0500-1000 on Sept 12-17: ``May be off
air for some time due to maintenance work all week``. I do not measure
them directly but note that 292 frequency matches RVM Brasil circa
9665, i.e. exactly same pitch het when tuned to 9664-USB and 9669-USB
--- but something on 9675 presents a lower pitch, when tuned to
9674-USB: that would be a CNR1 non-jammer, more likely to be precisely
on its frequency that 292 or RVM on theirs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Sept 13 at 0708, JBA carrier from R.
Kiritimati, and nothing else on 9/kHz splits (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 13 at 0627, VON is on, undermodulated S9/+10,
think I heard the drumming IS go by once in passing, more Hausa.

7255-, Sept 13 at 1636, no VON signal yet into Canary Islands SDR on
signature off-frequency 7254.93 or so, just noise instead of 1630-1900
English. Typically will cut on and off multiple times during that
span. Next check, 1715, it`s on in English with squeal, S7/S9, VP
hardly readable vs storm noise level, -67v Hz offset = 7254.933. Next
check, 1821, OFF again!

Are we to assume that VON are unable, or merely unwilling, to employ
any of their other three long-listed frequencies? Evenings were on
11770, which ought to arrive better now; alternate 9690; all always
offset-minus; and even DRM noise circa 15120 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SWAZILAND [and non]. 9585, Sept 14 at 1454, music box IS and IDs,
``This is T-W-R, broadcasting from Eswátini``, 1455 opening presumed
Malgache, S4/S6 via longpath. Recheck at 1501, now fast SAH from a
second station, i.e. CRI Japanese hour scheduled to start at *1458 via
Xianyang 59 site, so maybe not a problem in Madagascar (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. Sept 13 at 2130 UT, via PBS on OETA-2, repeated at 2200
on OETA-1. BBC World News America is back to `normal` with Laura

SuperStition is AWOL from own 24/7 schedule, Enid target safe from it
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15555-USB, Sept 13 at 1452, WJHR gospel huxter is JBA S7/S8
about the same as noise level. Per DXMAP, HF sporadic E MUF is barely
reaching here between FL & OK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15670-15675, Sept 13 at 1423, the hybrid unauthorized lower
half of WINB beepery is VP S6/S7 while the upper half in DRM noise
15675-15680 is hardly distinguishable from band noise level. Recent
new frequency scheduled 14-15 only M-F, then 15745-15755 at 15-17. Not
clear why a change needed, nothing listed to QRM 15745-15755 before
1500 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7932.05, Sept 13 at 0620, R. Vanuatu S5/S7, JBA talk vs
always present CODAR, i.e. 2 x 3966+. Unfortunately still barely awake
at 0709, JBA carrier on 8620+. So despite alleged help from NZ, RV is
sticking to wacko schedule of two totally wrong frequencies and their
harmonix, 3966+ and 4310+ switching at 0659/0700 --- while local
listeners are surely wondering where it went - they might encounter
3966 if tuning around 3945 especially on analog radios, but not 4310
without a DXing mentality.

Bryan Clark, NZ, wrote Sept 9: ```A follow up message from Adrian at
RNZ Pacific regarding the Radio Vanuatu shortwave transmitter problems
says, ``I heard months ago the company that made the TX has gone out
of business. That raises the problem of spare parts plus no local
technical expertise available. The solution will be very expensive and
who knows if it will happen anytime soon.`` Regards, Bryan``` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT [non]. 9439.995, Sept 12 at 2203, NO signal from R. Cairo in
English into UTwente, just that heavy loud clicking which must be
something else. 9900v, which sometimes tries to carry Portuguese
service, is also AWOL at 2255 check into UTwente, rather just Chinese.
Something`s amiss at Abis (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27184.5 AM, Sept 12 at 2150 UT, local Enid CB pirate is
still relaying // KXLS 95.7, steady S9+22 at JBM level; why? No skip
now or lately, but it ties up the channel (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Mon Sept 12 at 2200, token M/W/F English from REE, VG
into Maryland SDR, no need to check three others but you never know
whether some will be missing or defective. I`m mainly audioviewing BBC
News, see UK [non], but at 2210 check the feature is about a flamenco
artist, Rosalía, which seems vaguely familiar: there are a lot of
reruns. But by 0028 check Sept 13, NO signal on 17855 into same;
supposed to run until 0200* Tu-Sa. 11940 for S America is still VG
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.003, Sept 12 at 2203, VOT English is on today, VG
S9+30/45 into UTwente, but I`m mainly audioviewing BBC news on TV: see
UK [non]. Back here at 2228, `Feeling Supreme` is underway, natural
remedies for head lice, but I`ve missed the first nine of twelve; the
tenth is: garlic. Not a problem here, but attn all SWLs with head
lice: you`ve got to listen to VOT! This will probably repeat
eventually.

After some musix, 2245-2249 another feature, `DYKT`, about a town on
the Aegean with ``the most beautiful beach in the world``. She of the
heavy accent mentions the name several times but never can I
understand it, so does she ever spell it? Of course not! Something`s
always awry at Ankara. Surely one could find on the web a roster of
the thousands of beautiful beaches in the world with this atop it, #1,
right?

There has been some fading in the modulation, rather than signal level
or propagation, it seems, but might be SDR reception artifact rather
than transmission problem. Also considerable splatter from something
on 9820 unless narrowed. Standard sign off and cut 2254* before any IS
heard, let alone extra German (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE. Catching up on `Ukraine: Security Issue` with dramatic
music sounders from UR1 via WRMI 7730 circa 0500, but copied later out
of archive:

http://www.nrcu.gov.ua/images/ckeditor/files/files/ENG_NEWS_10_09_22.mp3
For Sept 10, but no date or warday mentioned, including: Liberating
Kharkiv region proceeding. R army still shelling along entire front
line. More than 5500 civilians died, more than 8000 injured, probably
much higher. NATO Secy-Genl says war is entering critical phase. NATO
should be ready for long-term support. More than 80% of R`s land
forces committed to U war. Putin resorting to energy blackmail of
Europe, R increasingly isolated, trying to break will of allies.
Another 5 ships left U ports for Africa, Europe, with grain, corn,
other food. 113 vessels total left for Asia, Africa, Europe. Ports no
longer blocked.

http://www.nrcu.gov.ua/images/ckeditor/files/files/ENG_NEWS_11_09_22.mp3
For Sept 11, again no date or warday mentioned, including: Zap. NPP
seized by R, placed mily eqp on it. U has liberated more than 3000 sq
km of territory in Sept. R lost more than 400 soldiers this day.
Civilians still being killed. Shot down enemy missile. Negotiations
with R not currently possible per Pres Z. They must be ready to give
back our land. Negos with R on March 29 but situation has changed.
Needs artillery ammo from Germany. Germany has changed position by 180
degrees in favor of aid. Pres Z has discussed with new British PM.
Moldova banned flights to R.

For Sept 12, not yet posted as of 0345 UT Sept 13. Sept 9 still
missing, linked by mistake to Sept 7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. RF 13, KETA virtual 13-1 OKC, Sept 12 at 2200-2227 UT,
what used to be `BBC World News America`, but anchored out of NY or DC
with plenty BBC content, is now coming direct from London, altho the
unknown anchor does acknowledge besides domestix, PBS viewers in
America at closing. BBC were already planning to downsize/merge their
news operation, so this may be the new normal, but EIIR* coverage
threw a monkey wrench into everything, so it`s not clear whether just
a temporary/special arrangement. Furthermore a ``live`` shot from
Scotland at 2210 UT had a clock showing 21:10, so it was already two
hours old! OETA, and other PBS? have always delayed it at least one
hour, olds instead of news. The identical `cast also runs a semi-hour
earlier at 2130 on OETA-2 for our convenience.

BTW, we couldn`t help but notice while CNN & MSNBC and even FNC were
covering memorial service in live Edinburgh, BBC America had: Star
Trek! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2155 monitoring: confirmed UT
Tuesday September 13 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/22 into Maryland SDR.
Once again, Jeff White automatically interjects between canned ID and
start of WOR: ``Right now, the world is in turmoil...``, yes, and...?
Next:

2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba]
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

** U S A. 7780, UT Tue Sept 13 about 0040-0053, central feature this
week on WRMI, AWR `Wavescan` is Jeff White`s first report from Sofia,
Bulgaria for the B-22 meeting of HFCC, the last week of August,
opening remarx by himself, reps of host Spaceline, ABSU and ABU; more
to come next week. At the same time one might have been hearing WOR on
WRMI 9395, but we have several other airings and WS has dozens of
others as on the WRMI skedgrid or our SWL/DX/Media Programs schedule.
Portions of WS not scripted by Adrian Peterson are never availablized
in transcript form. This was followed by a monthly Philippine DX
report, consisting of a rapid bunch of routine loggings with no
program details, just date, time, frequency, station, language and SIO
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7489.9v), Monday Sept 12 at 2259, WBCQ webcast of AW`s
closing prayer ending an `AAAWWW` episode repeat is cut off by an AW
canned ID, as the show always runs at least a bit overtime. I`m tuning
in now to hear the first half of `UBMP` on its secret semi-repeat, as
I often do 25 hours after original Sunday airing at 2200 when I am
distracted by other audio/viewing --- but not any more!

This time has finally been sold, for the first program of ``Living by
the Sword`` from Gospel Gunslingers --- I kid you not: the confluence
of deadly violence, The Second Amendment, and Christianity [gunshot
SFX]: none of that ``other cheek`` crap: ``thou shalt murder thine
enemies``. O, where`s that? Apparently plenty of Biblical references
can be dredged along those lines, as I tune away in less than two
minutes.

Now the only alternative for `UBMP` is UT Sundays at 0300-0400 on
Radio Angela 5130- only, where webcasting is banned; but it`s `billed`
as original airing, with Sun 2200 on 7490-, the only and now final,
repeat. But even on webcast, it`s never in $ tereo. Music on a couple
recent shows I haven`t much cared for, but heh heh, I come back as UB
eclectically invites (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5130 minus 23 Hz = 5129.977, Sept 13 at 0358, WBCQ R. Angela
asking for donations as they are ``working on getting two 100 kW
transmitters to the station``; whence? Presumably used. S9/+10 after
bluegrass show, sounded like Dolly.

Next week on the third Monday = UT Tuesday Sept 20, sked shows at
0355: ``El gringo viejo con mucha cuerda (language: Spanish), Host:
Scott Hadley (Mexico), Format: Scott presents a custom-tailored
version of his popular short on radio station XHBUAP in Mexico in
which he presents early recordings made in Latin America.`` --- where
is XHBUAP? 96.9, a 10 kW college station in Heroica Puebla de
Zaragoza, Puebla, per WTFDA FM Database, which I might have DXed were
it not for a local on same. BUAP stands for Benemérita Universidad
Autónoma de Puebla. That means Meritorious, or Worthy. ``Autonomy`` is
a big deal among Mex Univs unlike USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Reply to my last report: ``Glenn, not SW but FYI: `NBC News
Daily` apparently has four live feeds starting at 16, 17, 18, And 19
UT. Stations can choose which one to air, regardless of location. The
previous soap opera also had multiple feed options. Stephen Luce,
Houston, Texas`` --- hmm, does that mean each hour is different as
news develops? Or mostly the same with different ``live`` timechex.
What if a hot-news affiliate wanted to run it more than once? Of
course, `Nightly` has long provided two feeds at 2230 & 2300 UT, for
affiliate convenience, presumably the same unless news be really,
really, breaking; and likely later ones for west coast. BTW, `not SW`
is not a problem, as I and the WOR iog are open to much broader media
coverage, ``above all, SW`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
