![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Sat Sept 10 tuning Argentine remote from 1439, nothing yet. SDR thinx I am in Amarillo TX, IP confusion? Also Gary Pence in Dallas, someone in Hamburg. LRA36 cuts on air *1454 with sufficient S6/S7 music; 1502 canned standard sign-on with 4 languages, staff list, ``Nacional, la radio publica``. 1503 Esperanza themesong. 1507 historical bit mentioning Alasca and Groenlandia. 1511 song. 1515 ID ``su compañía``, then ``live`` YL chat. One of them is out sick. Not sure of program number mentioned but should have been #20; geo coords; Base founded 17 dic 1952.
Mentions ``viernes, 9 de setiembre``, so the missing Wed 7 Sept broadcast must have been on Friday instead when I did not check for it, nor anyone? 1520 multi-platform contact info starting with phone numbers, too fast and not repeated: give us a break if you want contacts. 1521 birthday greeting to someone who has completed another year; 1523 song but chopped off air at 1524* and never comes back! Yet another transmitter failure, why? And why won`t/don`t they ever turn it back on? I wonder if it only be sporadic electrical fluid. Yes, it`s off: always a good idea to recheck the SDR in case it have been inadvertently knocked off frequency. Remotely possible they tried again circa 1800, as once publicized for Sats, but not checked until 1922, nothing (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9439.995, Sept 9 circa 2115, no signal direct from R. Cairo; nor any at 2200 check into UTwente, rather some loud clicking from something else. Something`s amiss at Abis (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MALI. 5995, Sat Sept 10 at 1853 tune-in via Canary SDR, R. Mali, S7/S9+5, already in weekly English that I can scarcely understand, so heavy are the accents of the alternating W & M scriptreaders. Storm crashes from all over Morocco, some blaaps and running water QRM, some ACI from 5990 unless avoided. Finished 1906, French ID, music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 10 at 0646, VON is on; almost sounds like English intonation rather than Hausa, but too sleepy to concentrate. Might be something to do with EIIR*. 7255-, Sept 10 at 1853, no VON signal into Canary SDR. Not checked earlier but I suppose no English from 1630 today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27185 approx., Sept. 10 at 1915 UT, undermodulated music and ``The Hawk`` ID, on SW caradio in motion in Enid; one of its memories is programmed for this CB channel. Once again, the pirate relay of 97.7 KHRK Hennessey -- only 3.9 kW ERP so needs some help? No, already blasts into nearby Enid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 95.1, Sept 10 circa 1850 UT on caradio a few blox W of downtown Enid, open carrier vs the two weaker stations in KS and OK: not unusual to encounter such a mystery, perhaps someone`s RF feeder in a car left on (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 18, KOPX OKC, I`m looking for NEWSY on 62-7, morning of Sept 10, but it`s ShopLC instead! Whew, lineup has been rearranged with NEWSY still there but on 62-6. The complete octostation: 62-8, HSN 62-7, ShopLC 62-6, NEWSY 62-5, TruReal 62-4, Grit 62-3, CourTV 62-2, Bounce 62-1, ION So it seems the secondary ION channel has been eliminated. I was going to notify RabbitEars about this, but they already have it; maybe it has been at least a week since I last sought NEWSY. KOPX is fortunately among the OKC stations always available thru rooftop antenna, but not my rabbitears. NEWSY, at least, is anti-cable by design. Info: https://rabbitears.info/market.php?request=station_search&callsign=kopx DA pattern has 8 equally spaced peaks and valleys around 360 degrees: Max 200 kW, Min 108.63, Avg 140.43; 1532 feet HAAT surely helps. https://rabbitears.info/pattern.php?request=ant_pat&ant_id=25076f916adca429016ae5a4803210e6&rotation=0&erp=200 My STB remembers when it was still on RF 50 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Fri Sept 9 at 2200, REE token English, to NAm VG into Maryland; Justin Coe previews feature will be his interview with bluesman Corey Harris, which starts at 2214. He must have a huge archive of such stuff from his Ruta 61 show. US 61 runs up the western edge of Mississippi east of the River, into Memphis; thence crosses over to west of River in Arkansas, all the way thru Missouri, Iowa, similar to I-55 as far as St. Louis. Crosses River from Dubuque into Wisconsin at its SW corner but soon back across into Minnesota as far as Twin Cities. It originally ran thru Duluth almost to the Canadian border, outmoded by I-35 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830.003, Sept 9 at 2200, VOT is on today, VG with only lite squeal, but I`m mainly listening to Spain. Missed topic of `Feeling Supreme` but followed at 2242 by `Did You Know That`, about ``Turkish Delight`` which has been around for 1600, or was it 2600 years. ``Turkish delight or lokum is a family of confections based on a gel of starch and sugar. Premium varieties consist largely of chopped dates, pistachios, hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel; traditional varieties are often flavored with rosewater, mastic gum, bergamot orange, or lemon. Wikipedia`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2155 monitoring: confirmed Friday September 9 at 1815.3 on IRRS SW, 7290 via BULGARIA, S9/+10 into UTwente; and // AM Italia, Villa Estense, 1323 AND 918 kHz but not LW 207 kHz. Maybe IRRS noticed my observation that 918 gets less QRM than 1323, so brought it back; but you never know. 918 into nearby Noale SDR at S9+22, while 1323 is generally below the CCI in German from Romania, worse than usual. Again, I monitor the whole hour: From 1755, 918 >> 1323, music of unknown origin. 1800 brief ``IRRS SW signing on`` and `Feature Story News`. As always, 7290 JIP late a bit before *1801. Guess what the only topic is, also for Spotlite segment at 1803; 1805 IRRS ID by YL still asserting totally wrong frequency 7125 long gone, plus 918 and recently added 1323; `UN News in Brief`. 1808 raucous music fill of unknown origin; 1813 `UN News in Brief` -- again? Wasn`t paying attn at 1805 whether same topix now. 1815 chop for a different IRRS plug/ID without frequencies, and WOR 2155 complete to 1844; at 1840 checked UTwente for 14580 = 2 x 7290 but not audible this time. 1844 bit of music, OM ID with Milan address; 1845 blues? music; 1848 unID DJ introduces an Irish jig, `The Cat`s Miaou`, no program name either. 7290 cuts off air already at 1855* instead of 1857. Back to 918, I find that still on but dead air, S9+22 of it. Shortly ID for AM Italia on 207 & 918 & 1323 kHz (kee-lo-hertz) by synth? YL. Never heard on 207 this hour nor for many weeks but does not mean it`s never on, tho I don`t see it reported in European MWDX clubs. `She` concludes with address info@amitalia.it, cute ESL ``Have a nice listening``; then a timecheck in Italian uncopied, music. Meanwhile on 1323 kHz the music has CCI and rumble; 1859 closing German announcement from Romania, tone. 918 remains much better as at 1901 they both play the Verdi closing theme of IRRS; yet neither MW frequency is going off the air now, and the SW is already long gone. Also confirmed Friday September 9 at 2052 the 2030 on AM Italia 1323 at S9+15 and rough; and much better 918 at S9+22, not 207. 1323 also has ACI from 1314 and less so from 1332. Both 918 & 1323 marred by storm noise from lightning right over NE Italy & vicinity. 2059 WOR finished, fragment of `Country Jamboree` opening, nexus.org ID, `Feature Story News`; 2108 song. Should anyone run across WOR on WRMI at a secret/unlisted time, such as Friday evening, do let us know: this has happened in the past. Also confirmed UT Saturday September 10 at 0400 on WBCQ Radio Angela, 5130 minus 24/27 Hz, S6/S8 into Maryland remote. And: ``USA WBCQ-3 Radio Angela relay GH's World of Radio №2155 on 5130 kHz via Monticello, September 10 https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2022/09/world-of-radio2155-on-5130-via-wbcq-3.html 0400-0430 on 5130 BCQ 050 kW / 245 deg to LaAm English Sat. Good signal via SDR Milford PA, USA`` Also confirmed Sat Sept 10 at 1600, first airing on WRN, NAm webcast. And again at 1930. Also confirmed Sat Sept 10 at 1928, S9+17 into nearby SDR, already 7 minutes into so started circa 1921. Next: 0030 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0430] 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html A noncommercial service for which financial support is appreciated to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, by money order or check on a US bank. Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat Sept 12 at 0000, WBCQ stream with `AAAWWW` - a new one but an immediate turn-off as he starts by insulting us by equivalenting Communists = Socialists = Democrats = Biden, not necessarily in that order. Back toward the end of show he`s fishing around for the new issue of Free Radio News -- he means Weekly, not realizing that of the three rotating editors, only Harold gets it out ASAP after the UT Sat 0000 deadline; Larry is next; but it`s the following morning before Dave does it, including this week. BTW, `The Score` this week about movies that bombed despite their great music, includes variations on William Tell about :25 minutes into one-hour show, already aired twice on KUCO: http://publicradiofan.com/cgibin/program.pl?programid=6135 before Sat & Sun at 21-22 UT on home station KQAC: https://player.allclassical.org there is an archive of two weeks only, this ep not yet added: https://www.thescore.org/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 94.5, Sat Sept 10 at 1800 UT as I am driving around Enid and bandscanning, ``K-state Wildcats`` in and out. There are two possibilities: WIBW Topeka, but the one on that network is KSKL, per https://freefootballradio.com/kansasstate.html i.e. `Mix 94`, 100 kW, 93 m, Scott City, 335 km = 208 miles. Just a GW scatter fluke, no DX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7932+, Sept 10 at 0647, R. Vanuatu still here, S6/S7 music on 2 x 3966; maybe a carrier trace on X 3 = 11898+ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 2002 UT September 10

![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** CUBA. 11670, Sept 9 at 0637, RHC English, S9/+10, again wrong frequency which should have closed in Spanish much earlier. 6165 is also still on at S9+30; and this time 5040 is also in English instead of usual Spanish, S9+20. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KIRITIMATI. 846, Sept 8 at 0650, JBA carrier but marred by unusual music splash from 850 -- that is what led me to check 850, for KFUO or WQRM at night. See also USA: 850 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 9 at 0643, VON is on, S9/+10 direct but undermodulated Hausa (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UKRAINE [non]. One of 6 reactors continues to produce electricity for cooling needed. But disconnected from grid. Was seized by R on 4 March. U fighters destroyed R chopper. Central Kharkiv hit by missiles, rescue ops underway still. R employs UAVs to drop explosives. Pres. Z conversed with SOTH Nancy Pelosi. Junior Eurovision Song Contest competitors to be selected Sept. 18. JESC will be Dec 11 in Yerevan, Armenia. http://www.nrcu.gov.ua/images/ckeditor/files/files/ENG_NEWS_07_09_22.mp3 For Sept 7, Day 196, with the accented fast-talker guy slowed down, including: 27 air strikes in one day by U against R. R continues missiling civilian targets, villages. Should set up special tribunal for R war criminals. Putin blames U for starting it. IAEA and Zap. NPP news. Reuters pronounced Rooters. EU condemns R activities around plant. Local residents trying to flee to Kyiv area. Baltic countries agree not to allow Russian drivers in? Visa restrixions, except for humanitarian reasons. R citizens will face delays, obstacles in getting visas to Europe, not their fault but Putin`s (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com WOR 2155 confirmed first SWBCs, UT Friday September 9 at 0130 on WRMIs: 7730, S9+5/15 into Maryland SDR; 5850 VG direct. Also confirmed UT Friday September 9 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9+5/8 into Maryland. Once again on this System/airing, the first 10 seconds or so are hit by a noise burst which is obviously also coming out of the WRMI transmitter, the immediately preceding canned ID in the clear. Also confirmed Friday September 9 at 1430 on WRMI 9955, S9/S7 into Maryland SDR with some deep fading but no jamming audible. I have asked Jeff if he could find any time, and frequency for WOR on Friday evenings = early UT Saturdays, but none known, nor shown on a just updated Sept 9, but still outdated skedgrid at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13Hra1coQGQAKDzn8QGeAqPuXbvFsn7umGzESGJQUx5k/edit#gid=0 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. 850, Sept 9 at 0112 UT, as planned, I am checking KFUO Clayton MO, the LCMS station, just before legal Denver sunset sign-off: hymn, 0114 cut to canned sign-off, and itself chopped off before finished at 0115* as transmitter turned off. Yet another station lacking the finesse of human operation, for ignorant, clumsy automation. Before off, compared with KOA on DX-398, from which not much signal yet, but I am not hearing the 1+ Hz SAH I was getting in the middle of last night with that Christian music unID. Anyhow KFUO is definitely off tonight, nor am I hearing any trace of WQRM Duluth which should have signed off earlier. The only SAH is a much faster one with unknown else. Nor at 0615 am I hearing anything but talk from KOA, altho poor, no musiQRM. And the KIRITIMATI carrier on 846, which draws me to this bandpart in first place is again JBA. As for the hymn heard last night, ``By his hand, he leadeth me``, I enjoy trying to Latinize stuff, so run that thru Google translate, resulting in: per manum suam adduxit me -- reverse: he led me by his hand That seems a bit cumbersome so I enter what I think it should be in Latin: manu suo me duxit is, for reverse translation, and get: He led me with his hand However, leadeth is present, not past tense, don`t you know? So what about, ``by his hand he leads me``? That can be boiled down to: me manu duxit But present tense ``he leads me`` is just: ducit me. ducit is the proper verb, indicative present tense, third person singular. Duxit is the same but indicative perfect, i.e.. past tense. https://latin.cactus2000.de/showverb.en.php?verb=ducere BTW, if you leave out the pronoun, you can hardly Capitalise it, deity-wise (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7932.05, Sept 9 at 0558 past 0600, R. Vanuatu still here vs CODAR on 2 x 3966+; better at 0635, inaudible on 3966; trace JBA carrier 11898+ vs huge Chinese on 11895. Cannot stay awake past 0700 QSY, but Gary Pence and Wolfgang Bueschel reconfirm 4310+, 8620+, 12930+ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1753 UT September 9

![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 8 at 0623, VON is off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2154 monitoring: missed checking UT Thu Sept 8 at 9395 on WRMI 9395; anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Thursday September 8 at 0149 the 0130 on WRMI 5010, S9/+15 but noisy into Bonaire SDR. New WOR 2155 should be ready early UT Friday September 9 for download and first SWBCs at 0130 on WRMIs 5850 & 7730. Check: http://www.worldofradio.com/audiomid.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9455, Sept 8 at 1453 VP signal from Brother HyStairical, like booming 9980 WWCR, so WRMI must be reactivated (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330v, Sept 8 at 1454, WLCR/WBCQ absent again for at least the third day when checked during this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 850, Sept 8 at 0650 UT, hymns mostly instrumental dominating on E/W longwire rather than KOA, but it`s soon audible underneath with C2CAM // unimpeded 840 WHAS. Slow SAH between them on 850, of 68/minute = 1.13 Hz. Surely this be my long-ago local in Clayton MO, KFUO, 5 kW daytimer but extended until Denver sunset, long passed now. Maybe missed a ToH 0700 ID when I was chasing Vanuatu on SW, but at 0701 still hymns. An announcement at 0715 but fading and uncopied, then choral hymn ``He Leadeth Me``. Then I DF it on DX-398 and get NE/SW, mutually nullable with KOA NW, close to right angle apart. Fits for KFUO, which does play a lot of Christian music. Only other possible REL in NRC AM Log is WQRM, 50 kW daytimer in Duluth MN, but apparently mostly talk. MWOffset measurements from 2021, 2020, 2019 resp.: KOA on 849.9987, KFUO on 850.0025, WQRM on 850.0001 --- that would make KOA and KFUO .0038 kHz apart or 3.8 Hz. But WQRM/KOA only .0014 kHz apart, much closer to my reading. Should be easy to compare when KFUO is legal, before official FCC Denver sunset in Sept, 0115 UT (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7932.055, Sept 8 at 0620, R. Vanuatu JBA direct vs CODAR; JBA carrier on 11898+. Second and third harmonix of untried 3966+ ex-3945. At 0657, 7932 off already. By 0702 Sept 8 after another frequency change, JBA talk and music on 8620.381 as discovered last night by Ron Howard, which is 2nd harmonic of 4310.190, JBA carrier at 0707. Also on X3 = 12930.6 approx. at 0705, JBA carrier vs high noise level. Nothing on X4 = 17241- at 0709. Contrary to wb`s assumption? Ron Howard hears from Bryan Clark that he has been in contact with Adrian Sainsbury still at RNZI, about these `rogue` frequencies from Vanuatu (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 5900, Sept 8 at 0624 S9/+10 of Arabic?/ME music, 0630 announcement, chopped off at 0632*. Aoki has nothing but relays via Bulgaria at other times; EiBi some more but nothing listed at this hour. My guess: ALGERIA testing on yet another frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1830 UT September 8

![Hauser](http://www.hard-core-dx.com/images/hcdx/wor.gif) ** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Sept 7 from 1446, monitoring LU4AA SDR in Argentina for LRA36 -- nothing yet this Wednesday. Gary Pence is on it too. Finally cuts on S9 at *1519, bit of music and standard canned sign-on, with staff names; 1521 Esperanza themesong; 1525 clip of an old OM radio voice and YL about SW in Argentina; 1529 tango?; 1531 ``su cía`` ID, and intro as the *18th* program of the 2022 season, on ``dia de la radiodifusión``, which *was* 27 de agosto! So this is a rerun of that date I already reported on, q.v. instead of anything new.
1533 geo coörds; base was founded on 17 dic 1952. Temp `now` minus 17 C, feels like minus 22 with 70 kph winds from SE, gusting to 95; sunset? time 17h27 local. 1535 contact info; 1538 rock song; 1540 date 27/8/1920 is being commemorated; 1545 song; 1547 ID with frequencies, ``Nacional, la Radio Pública, mentions Horacio Guarany, chatting with music background; 1555 OM voice of some ham about setting up ham station in Antarctica as an act of sovereignty [aha! Argentine imperialism, hi]; 1605 ID with ``Nacional, nos une``, weather again; how LRA36` first broadcasts were on 6030, later to 15476 ``AM`` [NOT]; 1610 song; 1614 ID with staff names again like sign-on but this worx as sign-off, since then off air at 1615* and still off past 1630 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** BENIN [and non]. 1566 kHz, Sept 7 at 0343, JBA carrier; and an even weaker one at 0345 on 1467. NW USA & SW Canada DXers have been reporting these TWR transmitters around 0345. Despite the extreme trans-continental distance, they can hear them, so I should too! WRTH shows 200 kW on 1467 but 100 kW on 1566. The lower may have a less favorable antenna pattern, eastward for Nigeria. Schedules in WRTH are under SOUTH AFRICA! along with other TWR site Swaziland. In language order it`s tough slogging, finding when these are supposed to be on, in what. In WRTH it seems the only morning entry for 1476 on page 494 is VARIOUS languages to Nigeria at 0315-0550 daily. Both also much more in local evenings, but disregarded as never to be heard here afternoons. EiBi is much more convenient: 1476 0320-0430 Mo-Fr SWZ Trans World Radio HA NIG /BEN-p 1476 0430-0445 Su SWZ Trans World Radio IG NIG /BEN-p 1476 0430-0550 Mo-Fr SWZ Trans World Radio IG NIG /BEN-p 1476 0447-0517 Su SWZ Trans World Radio E NIG /BEN-p 1566 0430-0445 Sa SWZ Trans World Radio KOT WAf /BEN-p 1566 0430-0445 Su SWZ Trans World Radio TWI WAf /BEN-p 1566 0430-0500 Mo-Fr SWZ Trans World Radio TWI WAf /BEN-p 1566 0445-0500 Sa SWZ Trans World Radio EWE WAf /BEN-p 1566 0445-0500 Su SWZ Trans World Radio KOT WAf /BEN-p 1566 0500-0505 We-Fr SWZ Trans World Radio MOO WAf /BEN-p 1566 0500-0505 SaSu SWZ Trans World Radio SON WAf /BEN-p 1566 0500-0505 Mo-Tu SWZ Trans World Radio TWI WAf /BEN-p 1566 0505-0520 Su SWZ Trans World Radio MOO WAf /BEN-p 1566 0505-0520 Sa SWZ Trans World Radio SON WAf /BEN-p Not on before 0430? WRTH does show 1566 in English at 0320-0330 M-F, 0430-0500 Sat, 0530-0545 M-F. Also Hausa 0330-0430 M-F, 0345-0430 Sat/Sun. gaisma.com shows Parakou sunrise currently at 0540 UT, and at less than +10 degrees north, varies little over the year, as late as 0600 six months from now. When I`m getting Benins, at 0347 the only other 9/kHz carrier detected is 711, presumably 300 kW Morocco (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9439.995, Sept 7 at 2113, R. Cairo carrier at S5/S9 into Maryland SDR with humwhine; 2115 timesginal about 10 seconds late and extremely distorted music as English program modulation starts. Something`s abysmal at Abis (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KIRITIMATI. 846, Sept 7 at 0656, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati. Ron Howard wonders whether they are silent Sundays since neither he nor I could hear it Sept 4 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 7 at 0655 direct, no signal from VON. Sept 7 at 1728, checking Canary SDR, unavailable, blank H2Ofall, as operator EA8BFK advises ``If you don`t see any signal, the antenna is used for the radio station!`` for transmitting, I assume. 1739 SDR revives for receiving, and VON is on at 7255 minus 67/69 Hz = 7254.932v, S9+10 but hard to follow, noisy in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Sept 7 at 1450 UT, Enid`s only local TV signal, K17JN-D, the 3ABN translator is back on air for first time since vanished July 8 as I have checked almost every day. Lineup: 17-1, main 3ABN 17-2, no bug, but ``unsupported audio CODEC`` on Sanyo screen, OK thru STB; Amazing Facts, AFTV 17-3, Hope Channel, HopeTV 17-4, HisWORD, or LLBNWor 17-5, Audio only program, 3ABN-MR 17-6, Audio only program, Radio 74 17-7, Audio only program, 3ABN-RL, but silent I`m informing rabbitears.info that it`s back on [as part of market 50 OKC tho no way to see it there without heavy tropo; and with a different old lineup] (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Wed Sept 7, token English from REE, 2218 presenting a movement from Fantasy for Guitar and Orchestra, by Manolo ---, who died in late August at age 78. First tried UTwente, but is not well situated for any of the four frequencies, 11670 best; now S9/+10 via Virginia SDR for 17855, but some distortion marring the music (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830.007, Sept 7 at 2200, VOT English is on today, S9+40/45 into UTwente, VG signal and modulation this time. 2243 starting later in the hour than usual, `Feeling Supreme: Healthy Life` about natural remedies for vertical swings --- what?? No, it`s ``varicose veins, a disease``, until 2251; as already heard on Friday August 26. 2252 sign-off with jumbled English schedule; 2253.6 IS starts playing, off at 2255.8 before any German (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Altho a recent upload, may be old repeat or host is way out of touch: says he is Tuesday afternoon on 11580! A frequency WRMI abandoned years ago; in fact nothing anywhen on the 11 or 13 MHz bands, why? These would provide good coverage at least in daytimes, especially in seasons-B. He also mentions this time but I think not as on 9395, but was it 7730, or 7780? Current sked grid for JftL shows: Sat 2200 9395, Sun 0200 9395, Tue 2000 on System B, but ``internet only`` instead of 9955; Wed 0000 9395 & 7780. DJ has really laid-back style (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 7932.05, Sept 7 at 0647, R. Vanuatu is JBA vs CODAR, not detected on 11898+ at first but yes, JBA carrier at 0653. It seems that frequency change time is now 0659/0700, after which Ron Howard found a totally different set of harmonically related frequencies! ``Sept 7 - After 0659* UT on 7932 kHz, I went looking for Vanuatu. Not on the usual frequencies. Found Radio Vanuatu on new 8620.22 kHz, as measured on my old Eton E1 (am sure someone can get a more accurate measurement!); mostly fair; // 4310.11 (poor) // 12930.33 (very poor). 0705-0716 UT: News/sports in Bislama. 0731-0801: Interview in English about investments (talking about gov't bonds, National Bank, low interest rate loans, interest rates, "Investments not all in one basket," etc.). 0802+: Speech in Bislama about domestic violence in Vanuatu, violence against women, Vanuatu's Women Center, etc. Wonder how they are coming up with these strange frequencies? Ron, California`` --- More replies on the WOR iog: ``Hi Ron, Thanks by the tip. I'm hearing Vanuatu on 8620 and 4310 poor to fair signal at 0928, 09/07. 8620 better. 73 Lucio Brazil`` ``Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain: Hi Ron, checked right now, 0945, 07-09, via SDR Kiwi remote receivers in New Zealand, on air on 4310.19 and harmonics 8620.37 and 12930.57. Comments, ID "Radio Vanuatu", Island songs. Good to fair signal on 4310.19 and 8620.27, weak on 12930.57`` Ron follows up at 1002: ``Thanks very much to Lucio and Manuel for their quick check of Radio Vanuatu's new frequencies. Also thanks to Mauno Ritola for his more accurate measurements: "Thanks, Ron. I have extremely faint audio also here in Finland on 12930.565v kHz. Checking via Neil Findlay's Brisbane Perseus I get those at about 4310.19 8620.38 12930.565 The carriers are fairly stable, but something wrong with entering the fq in the transmitter? I wonder where they are at 1830? Mauno" Appreciate also hearing from Craig Seager: "Goodness! All three heard here too 0745, reasonably well - appears to have really gone rogue, and continues to drift. Couldn't muster up the 4th harmonic, though - a bit late for here in that range."`` [all via Ron] I was about to contact Adrian Sainsbury of RNZ who has assisted many Pacific islands fix their transmitters; but Wolfgang Bueschel already tried that, to: <asainsbury@radionz.co.nz> ``URGENT NZ help --- These catastrophic frequency deviations of past few days, urgently call for a competent transmitter technician from the 'NZ third world to help' - fly in from NZ to Vanuatu. the local Vanuatu technician people can't handle the FQ disaster ? 73 wb df5sx wwdxc germany`` but it bounced! ``Adrian Sainsbury retired from NZ radio / telecom recently, and his former mail address doesn't functioning anymore, sorry. 73 de wolfy df5sx`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 2356 UT September 7
