Once again, I've heard the mystery 1120.. this time it was a Styx song
about 543am mountain time.. 2 minutes before KCRN Limon, CO signed on the
air. Once again, it's not WVLZ, WSME, KANN, KCRN or KTWZ. I don't think
it's KZSJ but they don't have a webstream.. but they are vietnamese. I
wonder who in the world i'm forgetting about/missing here? I didn't hunt
down any Mexicans because based upon formats listed in the IRCA Mexican AM
list, nothing matches as far as I could tell.

newsgroup by Adrian Sainsbury of RNZI:

“The Cook Islands Investment Corporation will begin dismantling our AM
Radio mast out at Matavera.

The mast was installed around 1970 and I remember seeing it being worked on
around 1990 but since then no maintenance has been done on it.

Government own it and Bluesky maintain it.

Anyway, it is a hazard at the moment as sections of it are rusting and so
it needs to come down.

It will affect our radio service reach.

We have FM around the island and in the Outer Islands via the Government
but the reach is not that good.

I think radio is kind of like a low priority for anyone these days.

The AM has been useful in that in can reach all the way to Penrhyn.”

This news is in contrast to Samoa where 2AP 540AM has had a reprieve thanks
to AusAid replacing the AM Mast in Apia.
