I won't use the "C" word, but they are coming in much clearer, steadier and
for longer then they ever have at night here in Laramie, WY... well except
that time about a year ago when it would appear they didn't drop power as i
heard them every morning and night for weeks.

WCNZ 1660/WVOI 1480 Marco Island, FL Off Air After Fire  View Printable Version
Thursday, January 23 2020

HCDX
From Coastal Breeze News On Facebook:

The building housing transmitters for two Marco Island Christian radio
stations burned to the ground Wednesday morning forcing both off the air.
Firemen were called to Curcie Rd between Marco and route 41 at 12:23 am
Wednesday to find the building engulfed. No persons were present when the
fire occurred. Cause of the blaze is not known.

WCNZ AM 1660 and WVOI AM 1480 were using the building at the time of the
blaze. WVOI was Marco’s first station beginning in 1984 as WWWO and
operated with 1,000 watts during daylight hours. Later the station received
permission from the FCC to operate day and night and change call letters to
WMIB. Later in 1993 it became WODX and finally WVOI in 2002. The station
was home to many radio personalities including Joe Klimus, Steve Reynolds,
Paul Lethbridge and Bob Ladd all heard at one time or another on the
morning shows with Klimus and Ladd also broadcasting high school football
and basketball.

WVOI operated from studios at various locations over the years including
South Collier Blvd next to the theater, Manatee Road, Elkcam Circle and rt
41 between Marco and Naples and at Bonita Springs. As of late the station
was operating from studios at Green Bay Wisconsin.

WVOI suffered damage during Hurricane Irma and was operating at 250 watts
when the fire occurred. WCNZ was operating with 10,000 watts daytime and
1,000 watts at night. Both stations were broadcasting programs from the
Relevant Radio Catholic network.

The current owners of both stations, Immaculate Heart Media Inc have not
decided the future of the stations as yet.

HCDX

Started tonight at 16.33 UT Jan 22 a new Direction Finding action
on Kiwi SDR rx net
from western Europe towards Albania and China Mainland.

CRI European and North African service bcasts need further
more monitoring observation now.

see enclosed screenshot of 5970 kHz German sce 16.00-16.57 UT
from Urumqi, Xianyang, Shijiazhuang, Beijing location direction.

I guess to trust the better TDoA Kiwi net units.
S=9+20 or -57dBm signal noted on OZ Kiwi SDR rx in Denmark.

Re Albania CRI European relay site Cerrik broadcasts..

I don't believe that the Cerrik relay is on air again y e t !
These ADDITIONAL SCHEDULE outlets
originate NOT FROM ALBANIA at present.

In past 14 days !!
I also observed these additional French (and others)
on 7360 and 7385 kHz from MAINLAND CHINA bcast center sites,

propagate far away from eastern Asia bcast center,

according of Kiwi-Net direction finding TDoA Extension,

not from Kashgar, nor Urumqui in western China, <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

b u t C E N T E R E D o r i g i n a t e
and propagate WELL
from big Beijing transmission site,
CHN_Beijing Matoucun/Madicun, HuoxianTown,
Tongzhou_SW 150/350/500kW 33ant_12x100kW
Beijing #572 site at
39 44 54 N 116 48 41 E

and likely also one ... two other additional bcasts more
from either
Xian #925 site at G.C. 110degr East

or Shijiazhuang site near
CHN_Shijiazhuang Huikou. Pingshan County, Station #723 at
G.C 114degr East location

7360 kHz in Western Europe S=9+10dB like at same time:
Xian on 7285 and 7435 kHz.

7385 kHz in Western Europe S=9+5dB from Beijing site,
like Shijiazhuang also this level on 7255 kHz.

The CRI Kashgar outlets are much stronger - than Beijing / Xian -
at S=9+30dB level tonight,
like Italian 7340 kHz, German 7395 kHz.

Okay, yes the additional 09-13 UT bcasts originate
either from Urumqi or Kashgar sites
in western China on the Russia/Kazakhstan/Kyrghyz border area.

73 wolfie df5sx

ps. 15-23 UT additional bcasts need further more monitoring observation
now.
