Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, May 24 at 2056 and 2242 chex, no signal
from LRA36 into Argentine remote altho it did appear last Wednesday
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AUSTRALIA [and non]. 10125 USB, May 24 at 0643, again hearing phone
QSOs between Oz accents, anomaly on ``30m`` band supposedly non-phone
only; finally copy some calls but not positive of them: VK6AV,
portable 2, as in QRZ.com seems fitting:

VK6AV Australia flag Australia
ALAN GUMMERY, CARAVANING AUSTRALIA, Perth, WA 6000, Australia

``formerly vk4nai. I have been travelling for the past year or so in
my caravan and use a 857d with a screwdriver antenna on the back of my
4×4. recently updated to advanced call while in the west. hope to make
many contacts while mobile. l also use a W5GI dipole when able to get
it up in the trees. 7515938 Last modified: 2016-08-20 00:19:15``

/2 means in NSW now or ACT. Contact with a VK2? Then 0644 maybe
mentioned VK7DM, which would be Tasmania:
VK7DM Australia flag Australia
DAVID MARSLAND, 63 ALFORD STREET, HOWRAH, TAS 7018, Australia
with some equipment photos. HK3QQ keyboard letters also on 10125 CW
but only light clix audible, no obstacle when tuning USB (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GUAM [and non]. Shortly after my previous report about imminent
typhoon strike affecting SW stations KSDA and KTWR, these further
posts to WOR iog, May 23/24:

``Nothing at 20:10 from KSDA Guam on 9890. Not surprising. 73, Walt
Salmaniw, BC``

``Well, my next check at 2340, 17700 was on with Chinese into S Korea
SDR as sked this hour. Of course, AWR might switch to some other
transmitter site if KSDA disabled. Now both KSDA and KTWR are
scheduled to be off the air until 1000 UT. Glenn``

From Jose Jacob, India, to the WOR iog; at 0250 UT May 24: ``[WOR]
KTWR will be silent today also. Message from KTWR. The station will be
silent tonight also. Typhoon Mawar should make maximum impact to Guam
today.

At 1150 UTC KSDA heard on 15210 kHz but not scheduled 11855, 15500 ?
1230 UTC: 15430 missing, 15710 heard. 1300 UTC: 12055 15505 missing.
15550 tx coming and going. KSDA 1330 UTC: all 15255 15430 15550
missing today. Thanking you, Yours sincerely, Jose Jacob, VU2JOS,
National Institute of Amateur Radio, Hyderabad, India, www.niar.org``

I`m not trying S Korea SDR until 1548 when it`s getting nothing from
KSDA on 15615, 15670 or 15680 as sked.

Nor anything from KTWR on 9900, nor after 1600 on 12080. Now that the
storm has passed, to discover whether they can resume normal ops, or
damaged and/or powerless.

Details in this story with a 2+ minute audiovideo:
https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/24/weather/typhoon-mawar-guam-storm-wednesday/index.html

It seems the eye passed just north of Guam, so it could have been
worse for the SW stations and everyone. Are the SW sites in the
southern half of Guam? Seemingly for KSDA which FCC puts at 13-20 N,
while Guam in general is at 13-26 N according to a web search showing
extreme decimal detail without specifying exactly what part of Guam
that be.

The Northern Mariana Islands were also in the typhoon area so USAGM
transmitters on SAIPAN and TINIAN need to be checked out. Their
extensive skeds mixed in with all the other USAGM sites:
http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A23&broadc=AGM

My first check of those is at 2030 May 24, when only two are
scheduled, in Chinese, 9535 & 6080. Into S Korea SDR both are
dominated by Firedragon music, CC talk is definitely under 9535 at
S9+60, and I think also 6080 at S7, which are Saipan and Tinian,
respectively. So those two sites remain operational - unless other
sites have been substituted immediately.

At 2320 into S Korea SDR, checking all the NMI frequencies sked until
2330 or 2400: 15555 Saipan Chinese on with CNR1 jamming; 11700 Tinian
Tibetan only; 13715 Saipan Khmer only; 12140 Tinian Khmer not heard
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Mild tropo enhancement around central OK at 0355 UT May
24 leads to BAD signals on `open` RF channels: 14, 20, 21, 22, 31 --
and decoding:

RF 34, as 33-1 PSIP ID only HRTLND ! No call letters. Also:
33-2, RTV
33-4, Action
33-5, Family
33-6, Revival

Heartland logo is a red heart with outline of a cowboy hat inside it.
Where could that be? Usually with a little tropo I get Tulsa on RF34,
KMYT-TV.

Not very DX, but it`s low power, never before seen from OKC, about 75
km away, KWRW-LD. This is confusing since OKC already has full-power
KOCB on RF33, virtual 34. Found this recent press about it:

``Oklahoma City is Getting a New Free Over The Air TV Station - By
Luke Bouma on April 27, 2023 in All News

Today Digital Networks, LLC announced that it is launching KWRW-LD
channel 33 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Now locals will be able to
watch The Heartland Network, Retro TV, The Family Channel, Rev’n, and
The Action Channel.

“Our goal was to always have an owned and operated station not just in
Tulsa, but Oklahoma City as well,” says Joel Wertman, President of
Digital Networks, LLC and parent company Get After It Media. “We have
no doubt our viewership in Oklahoma City will be strong, as we know
viewers will love our variety of networks and programming.”

Chief Engineer of Digital Networks, LLC Tim Hurley adds, “It’s
exciting to see all of the planning come to fruition, as well as to
know there is a lot more on the horizon this year for launches.”

Here is a quick breakdown of each channel:

The Heartland Network presents the broadest variety of true country
music and lifestyle entertainment. From classic country out of the
vaults of Music Row to the up-and-coming artists of today, The
Heartland Network truly is The Heart of Country®. Programming includes
Music City Tonight, CountryLine TV, Bluegrass Ridge, Country Fix,
classic movies, and original program The Unseen World. The network
also carries special event coverage through in-house produced series
More Than the Music and Heartland Backstage.

Retro TV is the first and one of the longest-running digital broadcast
networks in the country, highlighting classic series and movies from
way back when. Programming includes shows such as Doctor Who, Naked
City, The Saint, Danger Man, One Step Beyond, and The Ray Bradbury
Theater, as well as 1980’s pop culture hits 21 Jump Street, starring
Johnny Depp and the critically acclaimed crime drama Wiseguy with Ken
Wahl and Jonathan Banks. The network’s original program Dracula’s Kung
Fu Theatre is a favorite among viewers, with two seasons now under the
show’s belt. Retro TV is also the exclusive home to the iconic and
groundbreaking daytime soap opera The Doctors which originally ran on
NBC from 1963 – 1982.

Rev’n is a car and motor enthusiast’s dream, with shows designed
around all things that rev. Whether you have a passion for cars,
trucks, boats, airplanes, or motorcycles, viewers will find the speed
they need in series like My Classic Car, Sam’s Garage, The Curator’s
Vault, Motorhead Garage, Legendary Motorcar, and Flying Through Time,
this network keeps the motor running.

The Action Channel is for daredevils and adventure seekers alike with
extreme racing on Boundless, to strength you can’t even fathom on
Strongman Champions League, head-to-head battles on OVW Wrestling,
wild and heart-pounding situations on Operation Repo, the ever-popular
EFC Premium Fights, and more.

The Family Channel provides programming for everyone in the family.
Viewers can relax and meal plan with cooking shows like Positively
Paula with Paula Deen and Bama-Q or pick out their next family
vacation destination with travel shows like Chasing Down Madison Brown
and Road Trip Masters. Get DIY-friendly tips from Ready, Set,
Renovate, or settle down as a family for educational programming like
Underwater Safari and Pet Friends, and more! ``

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed May 24 at 2200, token English from SNR includes
after the news: shortage of Spanish teachers in Scotland where there
is more demand than for French; 2211, interview with J K Franco,
mystery author about crime and revenge: he writes in English or
Spanish and his wife translates into the other. 2224 Report from
Lebanon by correspondent in Beirut whose name I never catch: about
woman driven from public beach for wearing one-piece bathing suit [is
that worse than two-piece??]. VG direct but the other two or three
frequencies are unusable (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

English direct. Still no signal at 2239 into UTwente. It was also
absent yesterday May 23, but poorly heard on May 22. Something`s

several days and presumed off altho propagation has been degraded and
still is. Right now, CHU 14670 is also JBA. CHR is again audible
direct at 2227 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9565, May 23 at 0622, two-tone blipping with BFO, surely a
jammer against nothing, operator messing around as happens
occasionally, instead of regular pulse noise. This is a longtime
Martí frequency, but only at 21-24 per Aoki & EiBi; and wisely, no
other broadcasters are ever on 9565 now. Some different toning on
11930 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 9965, May 23 at 0621, pulse jamming against
nothing, a frequency evacuated by R. República at least a decade ago
when stopped via Costa Rica. Now using 9965 are only Palau on a very
limited non-daily 08/13 UT skedspan; and EiBi also shows something
unknown to me:

** GUAM [and non]. 9890, May 23 at 1955, tune in one of two KiwiSDRs
in Korea South, for KSDA, AWR scheduled to start a new day at 20-21
UT in Korean. Cuts on air at *1957 with incredible S9+60 carrier, some
dips to only +45. 1959 my ``Optimum`` internet drops out, and not back
until 2001 when I`m on the other KS SDR where it`s much weaker and
noisier, but underway in Korean with AWR mentions, perhaps for the
last time?

Since a super-typhoon is heading toward Guam and expected to hit
Wednesday afternoon, circa 04 UT. As soon as we got this story via
Mike Terry,

A monster typhoon is barreling toward a US territory with deadly winds
and 25-foot storm surge
By Derek Van Dam, CNN Meteorologist
Published 10:47 AM EDT, Tue May 23, 2023

Super Typhoon Mawar is barreling toward Guam on Tuesday, threatening
to
slam into the US territory as the strongest storm there in more than
60
years.

The typhoon, which has strengthened rapidly in recent days, is posing
a
“triple threat” of devastation including deadly winds equivalent to a
category 5 hurricane, exceptional storm surge and torrential rainfall,
according to the National Weather Service office in Guam...

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/23/weather/typhoon-mawar-guam-forecast-track-tuesday/index.html

I started replying:

I was going to suggest monitoring KTWR & KSDA whether they be blown
off -- both totally worthless for any LOCAL news about Guam. WRTH
Update
https://wrth.info/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/WRTH23_INT_Summer-8.pdf
has nothing under Guam. Instead they are mixed in with other TWR and
AWR sites under Singapore and USA respectively. If anyone can find or
compile KTWR-only or KSDA-only transmission skeds, please do so.
Glenn

Perhaps most convenient will be EiBi by time:
http://www.eibispace.de/dx/bc-a23.txt

For KTWR, search on KTWR, to find it is OFF the air between 1630 and
1000.
For KSDA, search on GUM-a, which is OFF the air at 1830-2000 and
0000-1000.
Not considering day of week variations.

So first up will be KSDA at 20-21 in Korean on 9890
Glenn, 1833 UT

There is one public radio station, KPRG
http://www.kprgfm.com/main/index.php
and its stream is working
http://peridot.streamguys.com:5090/live

I have not investigated for commercial stations

There are many more utility transmitters which you can find on EiBi by
searching merely GUM

There are no KiwiSDRs to be found on Guam by searching or on the world
map. Glenn

I do not see any explicitly local news on the schedule which is UT+10,
but I suppose there may be some such inserts during NPR programs such
as ATC. Here & Now is currently running at 6-8 am. Glenn
http://www.kprgfm.com/main/index.php?key=schedule

KPRG did not occupy the optional cutaway in NPR news at 1904 UT, but
stayed with NPR news until 1906. Also, I see that KPRG does not carry
NPR Morning Edition which would start around local midnight, but
rather BBCWS. Glenn

Arthur Pozner replies: Radio-locator.com has 21 local stations listed
for Guam. Most of them appear to have live links.

And Jose Jacob, India: Hello Glenn,
KSDA A23 Schedule is in my site:
https://qsl.net/vu2jos/A23/KSDA.pdf
KTWR A23 Schedule is in my site:
https://qsl.net/v/vu2jos//A23/KTWR.pdf

Gary Pence says at 2059: Glenn, The radar shows they`re getting into
it. I can only hope it moves quickly; the slower it moves or stalls
awhile, more damage and destruction occurs. Gary

So we`re all set to follow what happen to Guam and its stations.
SAIPAN & TINIAN with USAGM SW stations are not far away to the North,

** LIBERIA. 6050, May 23 at 0632, JBA something, presumed ELWA which
Bryan Clark, NZ, says has just been resuscitated. For longtime in
nightly bandscans during this hour, I have encountered nothing on
6050; and sharer HCJB is off by 0500 latest. Monrovia sunrise is now
0627 UT and varies only a few minutes during the year at +6 degrees

WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST UPDATE May 21

Hi Glenn, My latest Hitlist update.
https://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm

1) Algeria - Ifrikya FM: Added entry for this new station to list
(with web home page, facebook page and YouTube Livestream link)

2) Germany - SM Radio Dessau: Added entry to list (Thanks in part to

The next update is scheduled for late June

** CANADA. 6754 USB, May 22 at 0648, NO signal from CHR, Trenton
Military VOLMET night frequency, just like 15034 day frequency also
AWOL lately.

At least we still have Gander on 3485, 6604, 10051, 13270, all USB
confirmed May 23 into Maryland SDR announcing correct! time 0020z.
Broadcasts start at :20 and :50 past each hour, for how long? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, May 22 at 0643, S9+20 of almost dead air except for
trace of sup/torted modulation, English? And squeal, and noise field
surrounding plus/minus 25 kHz. Something`s very wrong at RHC. No other
frequencies found on any band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. Reply via the WOR iog to my May 20 log on 9440:

``Hi Glenn, Actually, Radio Cairo English service made one of its rare
appearances on May 21, starting at 2115. The broadcast was clear and
the modulation level was good. There was a news round-up followed by
"Feature" which discussed the anniversary of the establishment of the
Egyptian Geographic Society on May 19, 1875. This was followed by
another short programme, but the announcer had a very strong local
accent and spoke so quickly, that I could not grasp what she was
saying. There was News headlines at 2130 followed by "History of
Egypt" discussing Deir-al-Medina - "the Place of Truth", an ancient
Egyptian workmen's village. Sadly, the broadcast cut off abruptly at
2138 and did not return, so I gave up listening at about 2145.

Of the other languages, German on 9410 at 1900 is co-channel to BBC
Dhabayya and Albanian has CRI co-channel on 9490 at 1500, but the
Albanian release has been off air for many weeks now.

The transmitter with the loud hum is now replaced by another unit from
5th - 11th May and from 17th May onwards. This third transmitter has a
buzzing sound, but it is lower level and I find it quite tolerable,
provided that they set the modulation level sufficiently high. I had
e-mailed them requesting that this alternative transmitter be used
from now on.

There is still the problem of many transmissions being off air or cut
off before time. I am beginning to wonder if there might be problems
with the electrical grid in Egypt, causing unexpected power outages.
Maybe our Egyptian contributor Tarek Zeidan can clarify the
situation?

[later:] Albanian service returned to the air May 22 at 1500 on 9490.
Still with CRI co-channel but interference only slight. Radio Cairo
modulation level and audio quality was good. Will this situation
continue or will things deteriorate again in the coming days? Alan
Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.``

Tnx, Alan. Despite all the other problems, when on, 9440 would
consistently read out as minus 5 Hz on 9439.995 into UTwente. It would
be helpful to find what that be now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Monday May 22 at 2208, SNR token English VG direct,
other frequencies not checked. Interviews with people involved in
Madrid International Dance Festival - sorely lacking any visual
element. O well (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, May 22 at 2229 check, VOT English is not off the air
today, but poorly received direct with splash from 11780 Brasil; not
to mention the heavy accents (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2191 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
May 21 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz only - no show on
918 or 207 for months: still possible? S9+10/15 into nearby Noale SDR,
with lite CCI presumably Smooth Radio, Brighton, England, UQKOGBANI.
BUT: suddenly stops at 2025, soon replaced by fill music. I am
confident there is nothing wrong with my file to cause that.

Also confirmed, UT Monday May 22 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S5/S7 into an
Athens, GA SDR, as always blasted by external noise transmitter for
first 14 seconds and some brief bits later. Better into boastful
Louisiana SDR at S7/S9, closer to southwesterly azimuth from Okee.

Also confirmed, UT Monday May 22 at 0259 from WBCQ Area 51, 6160 minus
68 Hz = 6159.932, S9+10/25 into NH SDR despite degraded propagation
conditions. Unlike last week when this airing was pre-empted without
notice or explanation later. Next:

** U S A. 7730, May 22 at 0651, NO signal from WRMI-2 recently
reactivated as 24/7; and 7780 WRMI-13 but a JBA carrier during
degraded propagation. Could QRP 7730 still have been radiating?

Another check at 2308: no signal on 7730 nor 7780, while 7570 is only
S7/S9 and noisy. Yet lower frequencies are detectable: 5800, 5850,
5950. The nines are good: 9395 S9+20 with that guy visiting from Akron
interviewed on `Viva Miami` as per System G sked; 9455 with moanin` &
groanin` hour on TOMBS // 15770; 9955 weaker in Portuguese mentioning
Rádio Nacional de Brasília amid jamming. Of these, only 7780 is
scheduled not to be on air, until *0000. 9955 does not match as the
pro-Taiwan `Freedom Synergy Radio` is supposedly 23-24 UT M-F on
System G.

0008 check May 23: 7780 on now into Louisiana SDR, not 7730 there nor
into Maryland. Nothing on WRMI FB about this situation, but I see only
by consulting disgraced FB would we have known what`s now history 3
days ago: ``WRMI is broadcasting live from the Dayton Hamvention in
Dayton, Ohio today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) from 1500-2200 UTC
on 9395 kHz`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 15034 USB, Trenton Military unheard at random daytime chex
lately, such as May 20 at 1747, May 21 at 1455. Wonder if CHR be gone,
or I happen to try at times which are transmission breaks --- or
degraded propagation.

``:Product: Geophysical Alert Message wwv.txt

Solar-terrestrial indices for 20 May follow.
Solar flux 170 and estimated planetary A-index 35.
The estimated planetary K-index at 1500 UTC on 21 May was 2.67.

Space weather for the past 24 hours has been moderate.
Radio blackouts reaching the R2 level occurred.

Space weather for the next 24 hours is predicted to be moderate.
Radio blackouts reaching the R2 level are likely. ``

At the 1455 log, I find neighbor 14670 CHU is JBA, and so is Gander on
10051 USB. I haven`t really checked CHR night channel 6754 USB. At
1550 May 21, Maryland SDR is hearing nothing from 15034 or 14670 but
10051 is JBA. Let 15034 play past 1600: not a trace. FWIW, EiBi shows
6754 at 2310-1100, 15034 at 1010-2400: i.e. 50-minute overlaps. Does
that mean two separate transmitters, or allowing for variations in QSY
times? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 11670, UT Sunday May 21 at 0643, jazz and RHC ID in
English, S9/+10 extraneous frequency this time instead of 12200. Weak
music on 6000 is not //, so proper English channel is off already.
What could that be? EiBi and Aoki both show nothing but Akashvani,
Leh, India, from 0630, but can`t be that at local noon, even if really
active. Jose Jacob shows it is, with 2.5 kW from 0630:
https://qsl.net/vu2jos/sw_top.htm
HFCC shows Leh not until 0700, and nothing now. Could be a mixing
product and soon vanished, or remnant of RHC anyway; I was switching
back and forth to evaluate parallelism rather than doubly-receiving
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT [non?]. 9440.005, May 20 circa 2140, nothing into UTwente;
I`m out of habit checking for Cairo, English sked 2115-2245; last
report I find was on April 12 from Andy Reid when there was some
modulation. At 2228 today I do have an open carrier, maybe JBM as
measured. But this hour only, BBC via VOA Tinang, PHILIPPINES is also
scheduled and heard before (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** JAPAN. 11815, May 21 just before 1500, ``NHK World, Radio Japan,
Tokyo`` ID in English but don`t get our hopes up as it`s all-Japanese
to follow; English has been degraded to only two emissions, at 05 &
14, neither intended for N America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935 AM, UT Sunday May 21 at 0116, unID S7/S9 but
JBM; 0156 still carrier. Many reports here

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2191 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
May 20 at 2230 on WRMIs: 15770.000, S9/+10 into UTwente; and 5850,
S7/S8 into Georgia SDR.

Also confirmed UT Sunday May 21 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9 direct but
amounting to VP, better than usual vs noise level; and with the
external noise blast as usual overriding the first 14 seconds.
Furthermore, break in transmission at 0050*-*0052, power failure? Also
off in quick check were 7730, 7570, 5950; while 5800, 5850 and the
three 9s were still on.

Also confirmed UT Sunday May 21 at 0330 about 19 minutes into so
started about 0311 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG S9+16/18 into nearby
SDR.

Also confirmed NEW time Sunday May 21 at 1330 on WRMI 9955 at 1339 &

** U S A. 5950, Sat May 20 at 2300-2400, Texas Radio SW via WRMI has
started replaying during this weekly hour, some of their very first
shows when on pirate radio, Mix Radio International. Nice to hear the
synthetic voice of Cap`n Ric again. Some versions of YROT included but
did not take detailed notes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7490-, May 21 at 0109, this WBCQ is really ailing.
Undermodulated music, no comparison to neighbors 7505, 7520 or other
BCQs 6160, 5130. 0112 dead air with some frying sound; 0114 trace of
JBM talk. 0148 still DA/JBM. What`s scheduled now? `Shortwave Saturday
Night` - maybe problem in getting feed from WHVW, or in the 7490
transmitter itself. Recheck at 0310, now it`s OK into Maryland SDR
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5130-, UT Sunday May 21 0110, surprised to find this WBCQ on
early, American DJ playing country music from Britain, about an awards
show that lasted 10 hours with 10 winners each playing one-hour sets.
What is this? 0147 recheck with a faux ad for ``Granny-Be-Gone``. 0157
outro as ``-- -- Sessions``, address for donations, Jim Calhoun,
Thunderbird something, P O Box 163, Pershing, Nebraska, 69143 -- oh
noh, that would be Hershey, west of North Platte. 0200 Radio Angela ID
and something else.

I then see in the Angela sked that on UT Sundays only during May it is
starting an hour earlier than 0200:

** U S A. 1170, eQSL for WDFB DX test received May 21 from Les
Rayburn, CPC Chairman. It`s an EKKO stamp design, and generic,
identical copies sent to everyone without their names on them or
specific reception details such as time. Apparently the QSLing load is
too heavy to manage, and he`s put out a call for volunteers;
otherwise, no QSLs next year, even if tests can be arranged.

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, Sat May 20 at 2110, LRA36 is JBA S3/S5
into Argentine SDR, W&M conversation mentioning radioaficionados, then
fades in a bit better vs noise level. Today it was reported first at
*2003 direct to Spain by Manuel Méndez. It broke off but came back.
Nominal schedule is until 2300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12200, May 20 at 0619, RHC English, S9+10/20 with squeal on 2
x 6100, which is weaker, only S9/+10. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ITALY [non]. 7290, Friday May 19 at 1828 I check IRRS SW,
presumably via Bulgaria, S9/+20 into UTwente, during the time WOR used
to air - and I briefly recognize the British voice of Ray Robinson, so
it must be `AWR Wavescan` --- but he`s chopped off at 1830 for
`Feature Story News`, 1833 rock music. TG when WOR was running at 1815
it would not be truncated -- tho another webcast-only, Sat at 2334,
misses the last 5 minutes so FSN can run first and something else at
0000 - altho I have not rechecked this lately (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 17460, May 19 at 2020, only signal around here
weak speech in Turkish? S0/S1 direct so probably Recep`s jammer and/or
Dengê Welat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, May 20 at 0623, VON is S9/+10 but JBM. Standard
remarx about futility, abysmalness (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SLOVAKIA [non]. 15770 // 7730, May 20 at 0638, R. Eslovaquia
Internacional via WRMIs in Spanish instead of English. This was the
transmission repeating the Jan 30 English show forever and ever;
perhaps Jeff noted my report about that. No ID heard, but kept talking
about Slovakia. Nor do I know whether it were a new program, but
probably. In Spanish do they announce current date at opening, like
most of the time in English? The skedgrid dated May 12 has now been
updated to show Eslovaquia at 0630 daily on System H, 15770 & 7730.
When else? 5010 at 0030, and 9955 at 0330 on System H sked; but
frequency grid atop shows 0230 instead on 9955 System B. Also M-F 1230
on B 9955. The sked remains self-contradictory (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Fri May 19 at 2200, SNR in English, VG into NA5B
remote and I can`t help but notice that frequency displays as 17855,
offset minus 108 Hz! I don`t think so. Compared to Virginia remote,
shows only minus 3 Hz. UTwente, 17855.001. Then I check NA5B tuning
WWV as if on: 20000 -121 Hz, 15000 -92 Hz, 10000 -61 Hz - So this SDR
is now miscalibrated and the amount of error is proportional to
frequency. One of the topix previewed at s/on was about a classical
music festival in Andorra, but I missed it mainly monitoring Turkey
this time. Nor did I check the other three REE frequencies remotedly
or directedly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.007, May 19 cuts on a few sex before *2200, late
timesignal and opening VOT English, S9+50 into UTwente. As usual now
with some overmodulation/distortion, especially the music. 2213 about
May 19 being the Atatürk Youth & Sports holiday. 2214 `Weekly
Analysis` about the elexion, alleging there was 88.92% turnout,
proving T is a funxioning democracy. Recep got slightly less than 50%
requiring a runoff but confident he can make up the difference and
win: then over to a prof for further analysis. 2235 recheck going from
`The Healing Spring` to `Did You Know That` with their respective
theme musix, which are each always the same including announcement at
both opening and closing. DYKT, something about Atatürk having written
the first astronomy book in Turkish -- really? And getting a crater on
the Moon named for him. Then mostly music. By now has drifted down to
11785.003. 2251 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2253 standard s/off.
2354 IS. 2356 restart IS with German IDs -- and yes, extraneous German
starts at 2300 including same themetunes as in English. 2320
multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2324* chopped off air abruptly as the
sleepyrator finally awakens, tough luck, extraneous German listeners.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 28224.5 CW, May 20 at 1542, K5GJR/B is the JBA OSOB, no
other beacons nor phones during quick 10m bandscan. Starts with call,
K, and gridsquare. Faded up enough to copy during several iterations.
WI5V roster:
28.2245 K5GJR C CORPUS CHRISTI, TX # 5W, VERTICAL.

Have heard before only during summer Es seasons: 2022: July 3, June 5;

``28.2245 K5GJR C CORPUS CHRISTI, TX # 5W, VERTICAL``
I also logged him several times last June, July & August 2020:
Randy L Bates, Corpus Christi, TX 78415 USA ``I have a 10mtr beacon

Antron A-99 vertical antenna at 40'... 73s Randy k5gjr`` CC is 957 km
= 595 statute miles from Enid (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Gary Pence also reported him among others on Oct 30, 2022:
``10 meter beacons copied at KB1VWC rSDR (Remotely) East Falmouth, MA.
FN41rn ---

1627z, K5GJR, 28225.5 khz, Corpus Christi, Texas, Randy uses a

** U S A. (7490-), UT Sat May 20 from 0000, WBCQ webcast with a new
`AAAWWW`. Angela again remote on the phone with occasional comments.
He first rails against reparations, as those today cannot be
accountable for what their ancestors did. Even as an admitted Jew he
thinx reparations are ridiculous. Quadricasting on 7490, 6160, 5130,
3265 announced at least twice at 0022 & 0039 on 19th of May YOOFL
2023. Good news about AM radio in cars as some bipartisan legislation
is pending. He and Timtron have been doing a lot of work on backup
transmitters; usual anti-screen, pro-knobs rant. Needs more paid
programming or may have to start turning off transmitters during
unpaid. 0050 about to go into Free Radio Weekly when our power cuts
off and on five times in a row; with no storms around here. Causing me
to have to rewrite parts of this report. I never got around to
checking any of the SW frequencies direct. Never heard any
anti-Democratic comments this week tho could have been in final
dekaminute missed when he usually quotes supportive emailers (Glenn
