ARMENIA (tentat. ?) 11590 kHz now at 06.04 UT heard Iran International TV
Persian/Farsi program signal from London TV station,
S=7-9 signal on Mauno's place in Finland.
(see 6210 / 1395 kHz report from last night too, below).Also as usual 11540even BRB Denge Welat, same signal level at 06.10 UT.
Kurdish radio, and 11540.005 underneath Erdogan TRT jammer program
from Emirler Turkey too at 06.12 UT on Nov 20. 5959.877 KWT R Kuwait Arabic odd fq, S=9+10dB at 05.30 UT in Germany. 5800.017 USA WRMI mx stn S=8 in MA US state, beetles song, at 05.39 UT
6184.995 MEX XEPPM Mexico D.F. R Educacion classic mx, S=7 -85dBm in MA OTHR like disturbtion on 6165.2-6174.8 hopped to 6162.4-6171.4 05.43 UT 6145even CUB RHC En S=9+15dB equal level ROU RRI Romanian, -59dBm 0546 UT
6100even low modulation same signal level, NOTHING on 6060 kHz,
5999.995 kHz usual odd fq from TITAN Quivican site, S=9+50db powerhouse
but much LOW MODULATED. 5040even CUB RHC Spanish (!), and also
11700 S=8, 11850 S=9+10dB (+spurs 11840/11860) at 0552 UT. CUB RHC ex6165 kHz En, avoid now this channel due of strong signals

Just to add to my previous message, the time I first came across this was
2025 UTCWhat I think might be the audio of the London-based satellite TV station,
Iran International, is currently being heard on 1395 kHz (presumably a
relay via Gavar, Armenia?). Can anyone confirm it is them? Good reception even in the UK.

Slight correction. KOWB is DA-2, using 2 towers for day and 3 for night. Their day pattern has changed from what it used to be. Earlier on, it looked nearly omni except for a small null toward Denver to protect 1280, but now it looks much different, so maybe that change, whenever it took place, had something to do with it.

...and how it was resolved! Back in January I complained about some really bad intermod and mixing caused by KOWB 1290 and KHAT 1210. KOWB 1290 is owned by Townsquare and is 5KW Non D days, 1kw DA nights from about 1.6 miles away from me. KHAT is 1/4 mile away from them, owned by Appaloosa Broadcasting with 10kw Days Non D and 1kw Night DA. I Was getting a really loud, nasty crunchy sounding KHAT on 1370 along with some some mixing of the two in general in a few other spots on the radio along with some crackly sounds on the dial. This occurred on my Icom Radio and big loop antenna at home but also some car radios further north and away from the tower site. Thanks to some educated help from a certain local broadcast engineer we were able to reasonably determine it was KOWB causing the issue and it wasn't just my radio. I emailed their regional engineering manager who said he'd look into it when he was at the station later that month. I didn't hear back from him. Well, when KOWB's transmitter room got flooded from a burst pipe the problem went away completely. With them back on but at only 1kw on 1290, the problem has largely still disappeared I followed up with the engineer today and he said hes been trying to tune out the problem and was working on it before the transmitter got ruined. He says if he can't tune it out, Townsquare will have to purchase a filter. HE says in this case it was simply KHAT's signal getting into KOWB's transmitter and re-radting from one of their towers
