Subject: NASWA Electronic Flashsheet #1121 enclosed

From Jerry Leanmon:
KUWAIT (VOA/IBB/BBG/AGM/etc) UPDATE: GOOGLE Earth Satellite imagery
updated July 2023 shows new curtain arrays centered at 29 30 56.72n x 47 40 13.39e.

High band and low band curtains for azimuths 48º and 65º have been added since October 2020.
The antenna field appears to now have curtain arrays aimed 48º (new), 65º (new) plus the
original 70º 4-panel array. Also a dipole with a tuned reflector aimed at 58º and
a 2 x 2 Alliss style rotating array plus several MW antennas and arrays.

Word has it that the Kuwait site has been expanded because of low power prices and
perhaps more importantly its central location in the Muslim world. The site is also often
used for RFA broadcasts to China and Tibet.
For example, Lhasa is about 2600 miles and Urumqi is less than 2500 miles.

True. And why would TWR want another frequency for Central Asia... They
already have 612, 864 and 1467 kHz there :)
