B24 SCHEDULES at EiBi, Aoki/NDXC and HFCC are now linked from WOR homepage http://www.worldofradio.com
** CHAD [non]. 9535, Oct 28 at 0608, YL in language with stingers, S5/S7. Per EiBi this is now R. Ndarason International in Kanuri, 06-07 via Woofferton UK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA [non]. 5910, Oct 28 at 0313, no signal from CRI relay via La Habana as now sked at 0300-0500 per HFCC, ex-9790. COLOMBIA is long-gone from 5910 but still in Aoki, not EiBi (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 7335, Oct 28 at 0307, pulse jamming against nothing, since R. Martí is now on 7355, and 7435. So the jamming is back, wasting precious pesos of electrical energy. RM changes its 7 MHz usage per season for no obvious reason, but confusing incompetent jammers who don`t pay attention to HFCC. RM so strong that cannot tell if jammed (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 USB, Oct 28 at 0306, S9+10/20 of jazz, the OPOB. These say it`s Wasteland Radio, a.k.a. Dilligaf Radio: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,135802.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. Mon Oct 28 at 2245, REE found NOWHERE into UTwente or Maryland SDRs, on A24 17855, 17715, 15520, 15390 nor B24 9690, 11940, 12030, 17755 frequencies! There have been some R1 blackouts per WWV but there ought to be at least traces of something. Of course, I was preparing to check if English would occur at B24 time of 2300, especially on B24 for NAm, 9690. ¡¿Qué pasa?! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [and non]. 9610, Oct 27 at 2205, VOT English new time from 2130, and frequency, with `Letterbox` theme - just starting? NO, ending. S9+20/25 into UTwente but heavy CCI. B24 EiBi shows CNR8 in Mongolian, 100 kW, 286 degrees from Beijing site at 2055-0600. TRT should have avoided this frequency. 5960.004-, Oct 27 at 2300, TS and s/on VOT English to NAm, new time and frequency for B24, S9+35/40 into UTwente, but there is an understation. This time it`s PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi in Mandarin, at 2300-0300 per EiBi, 2330-1800 per HFCC. I know this will be unusable direct: yes, at 2307 S8/S9 below the noise level, but Urumqi probably not a problem here. They need to have a `shoulder` season with something less drastic than a drop from 12 to 6 MHz. Also, domestic clock changes should not be imposed upon international listeners. `Letterbox` starts at 2314, with another hostess, Sylvia? Says they are trying different program presenters each week. Mentions that frequencies have changed but no details, look them up somewhere. I try to copy those called but as usual hard to understand the names. 1) Burnett?, England. 2) Christer Brunström, Sweden, 20/10 report, again against the multi-lingual ID filler reels, but guess what: VOT are adding some more langs, including Norwegian, Korean, Japanese! for total of 47. 3) India, about the Dewali festival. Music break at 2323. 5) Mohamed Bashir?, Pakistan. 6) Ricky Hein, from a phone call, wants skeds. 7) Graham?, Indiana. 8) Chris ---, Canada. Closing with PO Box 33 address again, instead of 333 - which is correct? Does not spell Yenishehir. 2332 music. 2335 L`Box outro (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9650, Oct 28 at 0606, YL in Turkish presumed news, with stingers, S6/S8 direct; at 04-07 per EiBi, i.e. ex-13635 which was easy every night but not logged (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY [non]. 5960, Oct 28 at 2258 and still 2309, NO signal from VOT English to us, which succeeded yesterday, but plenty signal from Xinjiang PBS into UTwente, 5960.000 with Chinese music, dead air, 2300 5+1 TS and Xinjiang ID in Mandarin, i.e. EAST TURKISTAN. TRT should QSY ASAP if they can even get on the air, but they need to inform everyone whereto. I tuned UTwente around between 5800 and 6000, not encountering any obvious TRT. Something`s always awry at Ankara and/or erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [non]. 9775, Oct 28 at 0312, VOA English with African accent, about *rump being called fascist, S9+10/20. Now sked at 03-05 via BOTSWANA and per Aoki, *jammed because can be heard in China, where ESL is unfortunately rampant (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2266 monitoring: confirmed Sunday October 27 at 2000 ex-1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.995 kHz, S9 into UTwente across Europe; after 7285 s/off announcement, not checked yet whether really on 7290 in B24. Also confirmed Sunday October 27 at 2230 ex-2130 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.003+, S8/9+5 into UTwente. Also confirmed Sunday October 27 at 2330 on WRMI 7780, S9/+15 into S Texas SDR, like last week instead of scheduled 7570, remaining absent. Also confirmed UT Monday October 28 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+10/15 into S Texas SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday October 28 at 0302 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6159.93, S9+10/20 direct but including noise level so JBA: all I can do is recognize the WOR theme, not which episode I intro. Missed checking Mon Oct 28 at 2030 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975, as we were on the road from Artesia; anyone hear it? Not confirmed UT Tue Oct 29 at 0100 on WRMI 9955, usual Alameda Bible Fellowship audible into Brazil SDR as sked tho a quadriweek ago someone allegedly heard WOR at that time. Next: 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [NEW, to be confirmed]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 0030 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 2030 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975. As a noncommercial service, financial support welcome such as a contribution via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WHAT`S GOING ON WITH WAVESCAN, from Ray Robinson: ``Hi, Glenn. We haven't communicated in some time, but I trust you are well. You may be interested in some of the fallout from AWR's decision to end the use of all shortwave relay sites. Jeff White and I were provided with the new schedule for KSDA about 10 days or so ago, and the immediately obvious thing was that there were no English language programs on the schedule at all, including no Wavescan. We have sought clarification from a number of people at AWR, but have not received any response. No one at AWR has informed us that Wavescan has been canceled, but it seems that is their intention, at least in so far as their own platforms are concerned. Jose Jacob in India has confirmed that Wavescan was not broadcast via KSDA on Sunday, and furthermore this week's edition has not been posted on AWR's podcast page ( https://awr.org/program/engmi_wav ). However, the show will very much continue in production with Jeff and I, just as before, but I guess now just as 'Wavescan' and not 'AWR Wavescan' any longer. To be clear, neither Jeff nor I have any association with AWR, or with the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Dr. Adrian Peterson, Wavescan's Founder and Editor-in-Chief did of course, but he is now in his mid-90's, and he retired from any active involvement with the show some 18 months ago. So, we are now in active negotiations to get the show carried by one or two other shortwave stations with coverage into Asia. It will continue on WRMI, WWCR, VOH-Africa and IRRS. And, there is now a new podcast platform for the show, at: https://wavescan.podomatic.com This has the shows from the past couple of months, including the edition that aired yesterday on some stations. We see Wavescan as complementary to what you do on WOR, and not as a competitor. I hope you'll help us get the word out that Wavescan is continuing, and where it can be found. Thank you, Ray Robinson, Los Angeles, Strategic Communications Group, Voice of Hope World Radio Network, www.voiceofhope.com `` My reply: ``Ray, Good to hear from you. Certainly I will publicize what is happening. It seems you have been treated rather shoddily. I`m not that surprised since it has long seemed to me that AWR HQ considered WS not really part of AWR, not including it on official schedules, at least when aired on non-AWR stations. I agree our programs are complementary with your emphasis on history and mine on the latest info. 73, Glenn`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9275, Oct 28 at 0311, WMLK with DEJOM, S9+20/37 direct, stronger than neighbor in more ways than one, 9265 WINB. Now sensible frequency usage at night, ex-15150, but why target Europe where it`s 3 or 4 am? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 1539.95 approx., Oct 28 at 2200, obvious het vs 1540.00 stations. Nothing this far off in mwoffsets, but I remember a few years ago KGBC Galveston TX was showing up exactly here; a bit early before sunset now but maybe not too early on hiband. See my report of Oct 11, 2020 at 0055. At 2330 I check the W5GMD Houston KiwiSDR, but it appears to be deaf on MW: can`t even hear or see 740 KTRH! Try Maurice LA SDR: signal pileup on 1540 but low audible het and SAM does read out -22 to - 95 Hz. IIRC KGBC has had a number of problems last few years (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0235 UT October 29 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Glenn Hauser logs October 27, 2024 |

Sunday, October 27 2024
** ALGERIA. 17600, Oct 27 at 1456, S6/S7 song, 1458 French ID for Ifrikya FM - this remains a major TDA frequency in B24. Excessive registrations at http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbyfmo.php?seas=B24&fmor=TDA show Béchar site on 17600, 13640, 9500, 11620; Ouargla on 13790, 9700, 6040, 15160 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 USB, Oct 27 at 0302, S9+10/20, OPOB, with novelty jingles, name I can`t be sure of: ``Radio Dallas``? ``Radio Damnung``? ``Radio Denmark``? ``got to go``, with reverbs, yells past 0307. Then I check HFU: unIDs more than 2 hours earlier, SSTVs of a baby; only one log around my time; was the ID word Jammer?: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,135716.0.html ``S9+10 with the Traverse City, MI KiwiSDR. 0300 UTC-Radio Jammer AI generated song`` from Lucas Bandura, BC, who hasn`t posted to the WOR iog for quite a while (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, Oct 27 at 0309, presumed Station YHWH, JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 95.1, still not on air yet, but getting closer, new LP station in Enid to block KICT and KQCV, not to mention 95.3 KOKC, but Benn Kobb sends latest info on callsign: ``KOKJ-LP granted callsign for Enid station.`` https://fccdata.org/?facid=&call=kokj Licensee is Radio Media LTD, 701 N Grand St, 73701; 580-554-0392 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** PORTUGAL. 21449 USB, Oct 27 at 1451, CR6T calling QRZ and making quick contest contacts, barely inside the ``15`` mb. Such a call implies Portuguese colonies but now this is merely Portugal, QRZ.com: ``CR6T Portugal flag Portugal, RUI SANTOS (TONY), QTA DO VALE - SILVEIRINHO, PENACOVA 3360, Portugal``. His CQ zone is 14, i.e. western Europe. [non] Meanwhile the adjacent 13 m SWBC band is absolutely empty tho lotsa Eurosigs could obviously propagate if energized. Axually 21449 is in the *13*, not 14, not 15 m band, the boundary between 13 and 14 about 21321 kHz. At 1451, HFCC B24 shows all these could/should be on air with somethings: 21470, 21485, 21490, 21540, 21560, 21575, 21600, 21615, 21630, 21690, 21800, 21840. Imaginary stuff (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 9545, Oct 27 at 0312, classical music VG S9+30/40, Spanish announcement from RRI; and also slightly weaker on 9740. As in HFCC B24, from Galbeni and Tsiganeshti; but also listing 7205 & 11800 resp.; are they on too or still on reduced usage? It`s different than previous ones, but still OBVIOUSLY OVER FOUR YEARS OLD, from mid-2000. Prop report: IPS Sydney says 10.7 cm flux is about 70; SS number 5; two SS regions in view and another one soon; very low; HF prop above 10 MHz after dark unreliable. Then his routine logs, 2030/2100 UT on the 31 and 49m bands. I copy them all for amusement and historical record but will not foist them all upon you again; they include 9420 Voice of Greece, lots of CRI and CNR1, who cares even then? Also a partial Reach Beyond Australia schedule. 0325 a bit of music, then once again notifies that HFCC for Bulgaria in August has been canceled due to COVID-19, will be online only. And gives partial ``B-20`` -- there, he said it, sked for International Radio for Disaster Relief [which AFAIK, has NEVER been activated despite plenty of disasters]. ``I hope you found this interesting and helpful`` -- NO, WORSE THAN NO! Way to go, disservice WWCR. BTW they carried WORLD OF RADIO for many years, which was full of accurate timely info every week, but how should they know? They gave it up but keep this?!?! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 15150, Oct 27 at 1453, S9 Yahweh stuff: WMLK have finally come to their senses or consulted Propagation 101, that higher frequencies are best for day paths, lower for night. Until B24, 15150 toward Europe was running late in the night and 9275 in the daytime, local afternoons. But now the HFCC sked is: 12-17 15150, 1730-2230 NEW 17525, 2300-0400 9275, all 300 kW at 53 degrees daily except 7=Sabbathday. So they are allowing one semi-hour to accomplish frequency changes? Off 15150 by 1700. At 1735, NEW 17524.999 is on, S9/+15 into UTwente with amateur hymnody; preacher thru 1800 with no ID. 1829 DEJOM himself outroes, ID. But they can`t make his ghost say ``17525``? AI not? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VATICAN. 15490, Oct 27 at 1455, S Asian song S8/S9. HFCC B24 shows VR in Tamil at 1450-1510, between Hindi & Malayalam, 250 kW at 89 degrees, another example of SMG putting far too much signals in wrong direxions -- antenna azimuths messed up or simply insufficiently screened backwards? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** YEMEN [non]. 11934.894+, Oct 27 at 1930, S9+25 into UTwente, ME music and Arabic talk from Rep. of Yemen R., via SAUDI ARABIA, remains very reliably offset like this, and with no chirping for a long time. Riyadh abstains from HFCC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 1957 UT October 27 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
