Glenn Hauser logs March 17, 2023  View Printable Version

Hauser
** ALGERIA. 5900, March 17 at 0633, S9+20/30 of Qur`an, certainly not
TOMBS via Bulgaria as has been here. Presumably NF for one of the
Algerian sites: I vaguely recall they`ve been on 5900 before, but
can`t find a report. Soon YL talk in Arabic before more music. Scan of
all bands upward to 13 MHz does not find another one to make //. Not
on 9500, so I wonder if accidentally they reversed the digits? We
shall hear if this recur. But 9500 supposedly at 00-06 only.

I`m checking 5900 following this from Jim Renfrew, NY, at 0415:
``Radio Coran 5900 --- Glenn, while attempting to listen to the
theological renditions of Brother Stair on 5900 khz from Kostinbrod,
Bulgaria, on March 17, at 0305 UTC, I instead found a Koranic program
of some kind - very strong - with Overcomers way underneath (and
parallel to 6160 WBCQ). At 0400 the 5900 station has a national anthem
- familiar, but I can't place it. Ah, there it is, at 0406 an English
ID "Holy Koran Radio, Algeria" and the same in French, then back to
Koranic readings. Frequency appears to be unlisted in WRTH and recent
NASWA bulletins. Seems parallel to 7440, but weak there and hard to be
certain. Brother Stair, tonight (from beyond the grave, I suppose) is
all about the appearance of "Planet X" and how the Norwegians have a
plan to rescue their population. Jim Renfrew, Clarendon NY`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, March 17 at 0637, RHC Spanish not English, S9+10
undermodulated, only channel still on. Something`s always wrong at
RHC. The Other Side:

``'Elections' in Cuba: False Representation and Tons of Propaganda ---
The fact that the list of candidates includes people from all the
provinces and municipalities does not mean that all the territories
are actually represented in the Cuban Parliament.
Lucía Alfonso Mirabal, La Habana 17 Mar 2023 - 14:48 CET...``
https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1679060890_45890.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 24940 USB, March 17 at 2101, CO8LY calling QRZ and having no
problem working lots of Yanquis. IIRC he`s a fixture on 12m. But I
last logged him exactly one biyear ago, March 17, 2021 on 18137,
Eduardo in Santiago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, March 17 at 0652, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati
and nothing else in 9/kHz splits; glad to detect again after several
nights. Gary Pence, KM5X, TX, says, ``Kiribati is S8 at NH6XO in Oahu
at 0728z`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 17460.000+, March 17 at 1825, a speech, in
Turkish? Maybe it`s Recep. S9+45 into UTwente, with some roaring in
background. No het and no other signals in the area now. After long
speech, 1842 songs start. Still going past 1900, but now with a fast
rippling SAH from an understation several Hz off, not 250 Hz off as
previously from Tashkent.

As reported March 15, Dengê Welat started using 17470- via Uzbekistan,
hit by jamming March 16, and earlier today was playing cat-and-mouse
with Turkish jammer jumping around 10 kHz intervals. Jose Jacob,
India, also reported AWR in Hindi on unlisted 17460 until 1545 switch
to another language - wonder if that were a mistake at Tashkent?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 28171 CW, March 17 at 2056, XE1FAS/B, 5-watt beacon in
Puebla, as logged before on Feb 20; see that report for more details.
Many more beeping up to 28300; I cannot spend all the time it would
take to chase all those down, but doubt many or any would be from rare
places (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 4015 USB, March 17 at 0406, JBA music into Missouri
remote. I`m checking because of this on the WOR iog a few minutes
earlier at 0402 from Lucas Bandura in BC:

``Re: [WOR] Vostochnaya Zvezda (Eastern Star) on 4015 USB 24/7 --- He
was absent from March 13-15 (UTC), but returned on March 16. Playing
what I think is Russian metal now. Best heard on the KFS SE KiwiSDR in
California.``

That followed up his original post at 0807 UT March 12: ``This pirate
has been on 4015 USB non-stop for a few days now. It seems he is
associated with Radio Pushka (now inactive on shortwave) but it is not
the same station. I have been logging this on the HFU but so far only
Token has heard it direct (from his QTH in California). Radio Pushka
claimed to be in Arizona and this station seems to be from somewhere
very close to where Radio Pushka is. Best reception on a KiwiSDR I
have found is the KFS SE in California. Maybe someone here can hear
this station on 4015 USB? Even here in British Columbia there is no
sign of it.``

I monitor it further for the next bihour, changing to the SE antenna
of KFS remote, fortunately since 7 of the 8 RX are tied up by those
dratted WSPR daemons, each tuned to a different hamband. The one
already on 4015 is from Chase BC, likely Lucas himself, so I camp on
him, and soon take it over when he quits. Thus it`s S6/S8 with nothing
but pop music, most of it instrumental and not recognized; occasional
lyrix I cannot discern if in Russian or English. Never any IDs or
any other announcements, but several times per hour plays the nostalgic
10-note Mayak IS twice on chimes, ``Midnight in Moscow`` or more
properly, ``Moscow Nights``, at: 0416, 0432, 0450, 0456, 0503, 0512,
[I`m away a while], 0545. Still going at 0607 when I quit. Gary Pence
found northern Utah remote was better.

There was no ToH ID at 0500; at 0537 I get a trace of music direct vs
S9 storm noise from central TX across northern LA into MS (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 12030, 9690, 11940, 11685, Friday March 17 at 2304, token
English from SNR, all four on into Virginia SDR. 12030 ME is slightly
better than 9690 NAm, while 11685 Af faces usual RTTY QRM. Justin
Coe`s feature is an interview at a Madrid gallery about the painter
Lucian Freud. Totally invisible on the radio! So I look on the web.
They admit he was grandson of Sigmund but supposedly not influenced by
him. Gallery online shows he specialized in portraits, and *all of
them UGLY!* Enough of that. Turkey fails to broadcast today so I have
no choice but listening to Spain. BTW, A-23 channels will again be
17855, 15520, 17715, 11670 respectively. Cuba registered 15520 and
might collide until 2100, but Spainglés will then be at 2200 M/W/F
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [non]. 5960, March 17 at 2300, VOT English for us fails
today, no signal even unto UTwente. Later at 2312 & 2323 chex,
occupied only by Chinese from XJPBS, Urumqi, East Turkistan, land of
imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems. So I
may freely listen to simulSpain, q.v. but it`s ugly (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. 365 MCW kHz, March 17 at 0658 UT, AA, 100-watt ND
beacon at Fargo / Harwoood ND is JBA vis TX/AR storm noise. Only a
couple of the regular Canadians also (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 26110 NBFM, March 17 at 1526 UT, KMK282 with 8:26 timecheck,
S7 into Missouri SDR. Despite NBFM mode, in SAM tuning displays
carrier minus 54 Hz, = 26109.946 kHz. Fluff show IDs at 1530 as ``This
is Good Day``; as on the multi-channel CBS Sacramento sked at:
https://www.cbsnews.com/sacramento/program-guide/
which shows on weekdays it`s four hours at 7-11 am PDT = 14-18 UT! I
let it run but pay no further attention, and Squelch avoids noise
during the breaks. Earlier I mis-read alignment on the program sked.
This show is not on 13.3, which carries Dabl, but on 31.1, i.e. CW31 =
KMAX, not KOVR at all. But the previous hours on 31.1 at 1130-14 UT do
carry CBS13 News // 13.1. So KMK282 could be in use intermittently
anytime during those long hours whether ionospherically propagating or
not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2152 monitoring: confirmed what is
now the first weekly airing on WRMI: Friday March 17 at 1430, ex-1530,
on 9955, but direct is S7/S9 vs noise level and undermodulated altho
no jamming audible. Later find it better into Maryland SDR, but not
making it to Bonaire or Brasília where it`s aimed. Stayed on at 1459
with a bit of `In the Bleak Midwinter` a few days before Spring, and
gospel huxter after 1500, but off by next check 1519.

Also confirmed Friday March 17 at 2157 the 2130 on IRRS SW via AM
Italia, 1323 kHz, VG S9+15/20 into nearby Noale SDR. 2159 usual IRRS
``s/off`` but stays on with news and then some music. Not sure when
really turned off but music at 2218 is only S9+5/10, probably Smooth
Radio, Brighton, England. Next:

Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support
is appreciated; this week from Joe Caberlin, VE1EJ, Port Colborne ON,
for some US$ to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA,
preferably by MO or check on a US bank.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5010, March 17 at 0630, S9+10/20 of dead air from WRMI
supposedly BSing all night. Something`s odd at Okeechobee. I always
wonder if anyhuman is overhearing it overnight (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 9975, UT Fri Mar 17 at 0346, quick 2-second check confirms
something on here and has to be KVOH. Program sked has been updated as
of Mar 12 for DST, also showing expansion to *4* nights per week,
instead of only 3, making up for lost time? i.e. UT Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon:
https://voiceofhope.com/schedule/kvoh_program_grid.pdf
So that gives them four chances to fail instead of three, maybe more
favorable odds? Still totally gospel-huxtering tho some shows are
disguised as secular music; except for two DX programs, AWR Wavescan
UT Monday 0000, and Frecuencia al Día, UT Sunday 0000. They had a
chance to carry WOR but blew it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, March 17 at 0638, VP with Doppler flutter, or are
there two signals? At 0658, S5/S8 should be strong enough to detect
modulation if any, but none, fluttery, and still on past 0701,
presumed R. Vanuatu.

Gary Pence, KM5X, TX, tells me at 0729: ``Hi Glenn, I checked 7260 khz
at 0655z and I'm guessing I am late to the party because only a
carrier present listening from KFS SW. And now at 0723z signal
S9+10/18db, the loudest I've ever heard them. Too bad there is no
programming to be had. They are not on anywhere else`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5050, 4820, 4810, March 17 at 0632, JBA carriers, as
STANAG noise is unusually absent from 4810+. 4810 would be R. Logos,
Perú of course, but the others? Above WWV, nothing else except 5010
WRMI deadair and 5025 Rebelde. Nothing but Tibet/China listed on
4820/5050 but surely not from midday there. 4820 not a likely MW
harmonic; 5050 possibly WRMI exciter? Certainly not defunct WWRB as
still listed in Aoki! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6000 USB, March 17 at 0631, JBA 2-way in unknown
language; in the absence of RHC, of course (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, March 16 at 1905, RHC English on with poor signal,
chopped off air at 1930* in middle of the hour, just as happened on
first day of EDT March 12, and just as in the ITU-registered A23
schedule without specifying language; but surely they did not intend
to broadcast a semi-English. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2182)

** U S A. 26110 NBFM, March 16 at 1631 UT, `CW-31` KMAX-TV `Good Day`
show studio feed via KMK282, Sacramento CA, steady S7 talk into
Missouri SDR. 1704 local news, about accidents on I-80; sporadically
on weekdays at 16-18 UT. Also heard direct at 1909, during noon news

Glenn Hauser+ logs March 14-15, 2023  View Printable Version
Thursday, March 16 2023

Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. Wolfgang Bueschel just reported March 14: ``15474.971
kHz (!) UNIDentified mx program, likely Argentine Antarctic 5 kW tiny
LRA36 sce? rather strong S=7 at 2330 UT.``

Who says it`s 5 kW? March 15 at 0030 I also have it approx. 15475;
15474.97 into the one Argentine KiwiSDR working online. Only rock
music so far, rather weak, on both LSB and USB but louder on USB, and
a reduced carrier if sidetuned. Surprise Tuesday broadcast without any
advance publicity? Maybe it`s the `new` transmitter no longer circa
15476. As soon as I press Send, ``RAE Argentina To The World`` ID at
0033, more music, rather distorted. Glenn, at 0036. Other reports:

Doug White, KA5ETS: ``Just heard RAE Argentina al mundo ID at 0048.
S7 into central NC. Using Airspy HF+ Discovery with 57 ft end fed
antenna at 40 ft. Off, or no longer being heard here in NC by 0101``

gh: Not rechecked Arg SDR until 0113, off but: Something strange circa
15472/73, intermittent bits of electronic music or talk, very hard to
pin down exact frequency, which seems to fluxuate with modulation
{like a spur}, circa 0116. Then nothing to 0123. Glenn

Horacio Nigro, CX3BZ, Montevideo at 0141: ``They've been doing tests
on USB, LSB, including AM. I read of Korol asking for reports in our
Whatsapp group. But I am not close to active radio monitoring, lately.
Expect more tests coming besides regular sked already announced.``

gh: It`s on again with music from 1600 tune-in Wed Mar 15, 1608 RAE
multi-lang ID, 15475 USB not LSB, only S3 into BsAs SDR. Is becoming
so common now? 1618 phone tones, ``comunicad`` promo. Later chex:
still at 1647; 1804 S5, 1820. Glenn. Other reports on WOR iog:

Zach Liangas, Greece: ``More careful analysis shows AM mode with LSB
part at quite lower level than USB (about 10 db) possibly like
vestigial sideband. Song Eva at 1902 -92db``

Eric Fetters-Walp, Lake Stevens, Washington: ``At 2035 UTC, I found
LRA36 on 15475 USB (at least it was heard best in USB) with a rock
ballad, then an ID, into a rock instrumental with a male voice
speaking during the song, another ID, then into a slow rock song with
a singer who sounded at times like Tom Waits. The signal heard via the
Montevideo, Uruguay, SDR suddenly went off the air around 2047. Here
near Seattle, I could faintly hear the music directly, especially
during the guitar peaks, but it was overall much worse than last
Saturday's reception of LRA-36.``

Levi P. Iversen: ``Made it here to Norway too. Very weak but heard an
ID at just past 2015 UTC on around 15474.97 kHz: "Transmite LRA 36
Radio Nacional Arcángel San Gabriel" Clear ID. Best in USB. Carrier
off at 2047.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 17470: at 1344 March 15 on the BDXC-UK iog:
``Hello, Does anyone have any info on which station is currently
broadcasting 17470 KHZ now? Many Thanks in advance. François``

Mauno Ritola, Finland, at 1355 replies: ``Sounds like Dengê Welat.``
[BTW, Mauno is now International Editor of the new WRTH -gh]

Tony Rogers, UK at 1404: ``I agree with Mauno, it is Dengê Welat.
Matches their live stream at denge-welat.org``

Wolfgang Bueschel, WOR iog: A23 season looming on Sunday March 26,
so likely BRB Ludo Maes ordered some technical broadcast tests
of the Tashkent Uzbekistan antenna in 16 meterband towards
Kurdistan-all nation (pressure by Turkey since freedom treaty in
Lausanne in 1923, when Osmanic empire collapsed 100 years ago)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Lausanne
in Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran azimuth target. 73 wolfie df5sx``

gh monitoring: At 1636, music & Kurdish? talk, S9/+10 into Cyprus SDR
at -300 Hz = 17469.700. However, needs calibration. Same SDR with
timesignal on 10000 displays as -29v Hz (RWM CW IDs audible on side
from 9996 at 1639). Also tried Kuwait SDR S5/S7 showing -246 Hz but at
1706 best into Qatar SDR S9+15 showing -248 Hz, so really 17469.753 or
so, typical offfrequenciness of Tashkent site. Still going chex: 1802
S7/S9; 1822 S9+15/20; 1905 drift to -252 Hz.

Arthur Pozner at 1844: ``Have monitored 17470 kHz from around 1700
UTC. Was fairly listenable at my location (near NYC), but faded by
now. It is the strongest from remote SDRs located in Siliguri and
Vadodra in India. Must be originating from Central Asia, so Tashkent
is most likely transmission site`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, March 15 t 0615, VON is S9+10/20 but JBM (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.015, March 15 at 2320, VOT English is on with songs,
S9+30/45 into UTwente. Loud modulation, light distortion, and very
strong but rather deep fades at furst and not hearing much CCCCCCI.
2328-2340 `Weekly Commentary` starts later than usual, read by
hard-to-understand accented woman, about cultural heritage affected in
earthquake regions. Now with no music I can hear the XJPBS
understation. 2340 right into next feature theme, `Feeling Supreme/The
Healing Spring`, with the better-accented YL, remedies for headache,
migraine, until 2347; music; 2351.5 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2354
s/off of 1330, 1930 and 0400 broadcasts only, NOT ever mentioning this
one. 2355 IS looping. 2356 pause and restarts with German IDs
embedded. ``Hier ist die Stimme Türkiye`` twice per minute. Still not
turned off by 2400 timesignal and s/on (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. [WOR] KOVR RP on 26110 is KMK282 --- I did some further
searching at FCC ULS, starting with the frequency 26.110 - would you
believe there are 125 entries all over the USA? Some are 3 letters + 3
numbers which I believe are base stations; others 2 letters + 4
numbers, remote or mobile units. But many are canceled or expired.
Eight of them are licensed to CBS or Sacramento TV Stations. The only
almost-active one is this which ``expired`` a few months ago on
12/01/22:
https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=1112438

``Broadcast Auxiliary Remote Pickup License - KMK282 - SACRAMENTO
TELEVISION STATIONS, INC --- The license term is concurrent with the
parent station licensed with FAC ID 56550

The callsign applies to six different locations; surely we are hearing
#1: at KOVR HQ licensed for 60.000 output power, 83.782 EIRP -- must
be watts, not kW! And all six have duplicate entries on another
frequency, 26.450:

Location Transmitter Address / Area of Operation Latitude, Longitude
1 - Fixed 2713 KOVR Drive, West Sacramento, CA. 95605
West Sacramento, CA SACRAMENTO County 38-35-35.8 N, 121-32-46.9 W

2 - Fixed 14003 RIVER RD .7 MI NE
WALNUT GROVE, CA SACRAMENTO County 38-14-50.0 N, 121-30-07.0 W

3 - Fixed 509 W. Weber, Suite 202
Stockton, CA SAN JOAQUIN County 37-57-09.7 N, 121-17-50.8 W

4 - Fixed 6.5 Miles east of Georgetown
Georgetown, CA EL DORADO County 38-54-13.6 N, 120-42-16.7 W

5 - Fixed 25 miles W of Modesto
Modesto, CA STANISLAUS County 37-30-29.8 N, 121-22-29.8 W

6 - Fixed North Peak, Mt. Diablo
Contra Costa, CA CONTRA COSTA County 37-53-33.7 N, 121-53-56.8 W

I bet the callsign ID is never uttered on the air

Later: It`s on now at 1622 March 15, W&W discussion of dietary
options, steady S7 into Missouri SDR. Off for ads at 1650-1652, not
much heard later but not monitoring continuously, competition from
Kurdistan and Antarctica. At this hour it`s KMAX programming, not
KOVR. Glenn

Doug KA5ETS White at 1623: ``Audible here now in central NC. S6 with
deep fades. Started monitoring around 1610. Heard a discussion about
copyrights and digital media. Now they're discussing delicious
recipes.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2181 monitoring: ``From: Richard

Dear Glenn: Confirming World of Radio #2181, WRMI:

Confirmed Tuesday March 14 at 2330 ex-2430 on WRMI 9395, S9+10 direct,
S9+20 into Virginia SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday March 15 at 2127 on WBCQ 7490-, JBA S2/S3
direct vs S2 noise level: I can barely recognize it`s my voice. Away
from computer I remote-recorded a sample of the 2100 start via
webcast, confirming it is #2181. Now an hour further into the dayside
tnx to stupid DST, and seasonally gaining even more absorption week by
week until Solstice, reduces and reduces the reach of this broadcast.
Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW [ex-0130]

** CUBA. 15140, March 14 at 1900-1915, checking for RHC English at
earlied time, but: no signal here nor on 11760. Something`s always
wrong at RHC. 11880 not on air before or after 2230.

RHC website is uselessly outdated, and HFCC is boycotted, but does
register with ITU, for A-23 as of 23 February latest: I pull out the
higher-band CUB entries. They are all HAB without breaking down to
three different sites; the Language column is always blank; and some
obvious traditional CRI relays are not marked as such. With kW powers
and azimuths which should make the target clear:

17730, 1830-2000, 100, 140 [could include 19-20 English??]
15730, 2130-2330, 50, 135
15520, 1900-2100, 100, 100 [NEW, Africa? not in ITU but SPAIN also]
15230, 1100-1400, 250, 305
15230, 2100-0400, 250, 160
15140, 1000-1400, 100, 130
15140, 1400-1700, 100, 10
15140, 1700-1930, 100, 340 [already heard it to 1930* amid English]
15120, 2300-2400, 250, 160 [surely CRI]
13740, 1000-1300, 250, 160
13740, 2000-0300, 250, 160
13700, 1000-1400, 100, 310 [spurs not entered; NO 13680]
13650, 2100-2200, 250, 135 [has been CRI Portuguese at 23-24]
11950, 2200-2300, 100, 340
11880, 1400-1500, 250, 305 [CRI? long gone; no tarde RHC English]
11850, 2000-0400, 250, 170
11760, 1000-1700, 100, 0
11760, 2000-0100, 100, 0
11670, 2200-0300, 100, 130
tedious, lowers not copied yet, but no new 9700 despite already on
air, just 9790-CRI, 9710, 9650, 9535; no 7s (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9439.995, March 14 at 2206+, R. Cairo tries and fails yet
again to English at 2115-2245: signature offset into UTwente at
S9+30/40 but JBM with big humbuzz, totally unreadable talk, cannot
even be positive it`s English. Something`s always egregious in Egypt
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.005, March 14 at 2300, VOT opening English, S9+25/35
into UTwente, plenty signal for max bandwidth in AMsynch of 13.53 kHz,
but news still sounds lo/fi telco quality: GIGO. At least is on air
today; you never know whether it shall be. Something`s always awry at
Ankara and/or erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. ``Glenn, regarding the KOVR feed on 26110: They are
obviously feeding the output of the production control room, rather
than the actual on-air complete mix. The breaks in audio you hear are
where the commercials go, inserted elsewhere. This is also why you
heard the weather insert being recorded. It would appear the
transmitter powers down after a certain amount of silence.

Using the production control room feed (minus commercials) for IFB was
pretty standard in the days when a radio link was used. However, in
the early days of digital cell phones being used for this purpose, my
station discovered that long periods of silence on the line would
cause the call to drop, so we started sending the commercials down the
line as well to keep the call active. Stephen Luce, Houston, Texas``

Just before 16 UT March 14, I warn the WOR iog: ``If today is typical
like Monday, expect the 26110 NBFM transmitter of KOVR to be on air
intermittently between 16 and 18 UT for the `Good Day` show on
KMAX-TV.

This thing should have its own callsign. Can anyone dig it out of FCC?
It may be classified as a ``co-pending auxiliary`` of KOVR-TV; or not.
Glenn``

Harold Frodge promptly replied: ``Per
https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/licenseLocSum.jsp?licKey=3099776
the call is WQKF723``

Viz.: ``WQKF723

Meanwhile I am monitoring continuously via Missouri SDR. Nothing until
*1617 in an interview, about 3.14 day, at the ``I Love Pi[e] Shop``,
off at 1626*, briefly back 1629, off and nothing more past 1750.

Gary Pence, KM5X, reported: ``You called it, Glenn; it came on at the

Forney, Texas. 26110 khz NBFM. 73, Gary, km5x`` - with a clip about

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-oceanic JBA MW 9/kHz split carrier search, March
14 at 0630: surprised to detect no 846, Kiritimati off or out of
season? But 1503, two signals beating slowly. There are a pair of
low-powers each in Spain and New Zealand. Also a faster beat on 1305:
there are several in Spain, only one in NZ, per WRTH 2022.

How about the 2023 which has now arrived? You need three hands, two to
hold the book open since it cannot lie flat, and another to wield the
magnifying glass. Unfortunately, the ``East Asia & Pacific`` MW by
region list has no NZ on either frequency --- in fact in a cursory
check, nothing at all from Pacific! No Australians topping the
alphabet under each channel. Knowing from the 2022 to look under NZ, I
do see there the two in NZ on 1503, the one on 1305, and Spainfo also
matches (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
