Thanks Bill,

Six/seven weeks out from winter solstice and thankfully it gets dark a
little later everyday. Tonight I tuned them at 05:55 PM local time and even
though there is a delay of several seconds, their radio signal is // to
their web site at: http://www.inpi.gob.mx/ecosgobmx/xeqin.php

Just heard "estes es equis e cue I, enne La Voz de Valle".

The announcements frequently mention Baja California and alternate between
a man's and a woman's voice in between local music.

Happy to put this one in the log!!!

Thanks again and giud DX

Major signs of life in the low band this morning, but mostly faded down before sunrise

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

567 JOIK weather reports for Japanese cities 1456UT

594 JOAK 1442UT

747 JOIB English lessons 1443UT

774 JOUB 1438UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling with splash or noise):

603 HLSA soft music, soft-voiced woman in Korean 1443UT

828 JOBB 1435UT

972 HLCA man and woman Korean

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

702 NHK2 English lessons 1436UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

666 JOBK //594 1446UT

693 JOAB //774 1457UT

837 not NHK1, but music heard on north Flag

891 JOHK woman //594 1430UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

729 846 855 864 873 954 1422 1503 1566 seemed to be Asian;
567 738 846 855 1017 1098 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick

Good evening,

At about 6:00 local time (0200 Zulu) I heard some Spanish on 1160
occasionally overpowering KSL in Utah. Program content was a mix of talk
and more traditional music. At 02:26 I heard instrumentals of "Hey Jude"
and "Unchained Melody", the first being played on flute.

Unfortunately for me, I had no internet access while I could hear them. We
had a lot of rain in the past 24 hours and didn't even have cell phone
service. Then an hour later, the internet returned, but no longer heard
them.

I looked up XEQIN 1160 with a web browser and it took me to live feed of
their program. Content is similar, but did not hear the "La Valle" ID
though.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi Joe

My best guess is that you heard XEQIN as I heard them under KSL last night here in Arizona. XEQIN is heard most nights under KSL.

Thank you, Bill

I am going to try again tonight. They sound like a fun radio station to
hear.

Also heard WHO 1040 last night with weather reports.
