Wavescan podcast?  View Printable Version
Saturday, November 23 2024

HCDX
I used to listen to AWR Wavescan regularly as a podcast but it hasn't been
updated since October 20th in various podcast aggregators. I heard that it
became its own program and no longer associated with AWR but where can I
find it? Is it still on? The AWR site hasn't been updated since 10/20
either (https://awr.org/program/engmi_wav/).

From now and for an unknowntime, at least for 3 years, I will not use any radio except the remote SDRs forDXing. Recently we moved from the village back to the city in a space thatprohibits the use of desktop DXing, a place flooded by high levels of noise inthe LMHF bands. The radio is now used mostly for FM, for news listening.we runpolitically lively condition with always very interesting twits every day ..

Radio Beacon W1CK  View Printable Version
Tuesday, November 19 2024

HCDX
I was listening on an LF Kiwi SDR receiver in central Indiana and heard two
hams, AA8SH and W3TS, working on CW on 474.1 kHz on November 16 at 0205Z. I
sent reception reports to them and got the idea from their responses that
they do this regularly. But it was the first CW QSO I have heard on 630
meters.

11520 OPPOSITION. Radyo Denge Gel via Tashken (listed), 1334, 1.14.24.
poor-fair at tune in, playing exotic Kurdish vocal mx with slinky stringed instrument accompaniment.
ID by //ing with lagged RDG livestream. https://denge-gel.org/ Turkish jammer
found nowhere around in the 11500-11550 area. (Perry – Il)

{a log from January? surely meant 11.14.24. Is nobody paying attention? -- gh}

11525 TURKEY. Radio Recep Erdogan via TRT Emirlir, 1405, 11.12.24
here this morning with pleasant Turkish mx. 1409 angry yelling crowd SFX and then more mx.
No sign of Denge Gel this morning in this neck of the 11500s band. Checked the Denge Gel livestream
just now and they are in Kurdish nx. Nowadays, you never know which fqys these two will show up on. …
Coming in fair signal at 1417 here in Midwest. Drumming and chanting soldiers and into orch mx . . .
and then angry, exhorting political speaker. Quite deteriorated, almost gone, at 1440 recheck. (Perry – Il)

11530 OPPOSITION / TURKEY. Radio Denge Gel via Tashkent and Radio Recep Erdogan via
TRT Emirler, 1325, 11.11.24. Both on this fqy today at 1325 check. One dominates and then the other.
Turkey playing the usual spirited martial mx with chorus and band. DG alternating between
OM tlks in Kurdish and local popular mx. Precisely at -1330* the Turkish jammer left the fqy,
with DG then all alone. (Perry – Il)

11540 TURKEY. “Radio Recep Erdogan” via TRT Emirler, 1312, 11.13.24. here this morning and
fair-good today with usual military chorus with banging drums. (Perry – Il)
