[IRCA] Headphones for Drake R8

As the new DX season gets underway I'd like to get a decent pair of headphones for my Drake R8. ÂI've used cheap iPod type phones up until now & I'm thinking some good ones might provide better clarity for my aging ears.
I'd also prefer not to spend more than $100 for them if something decent is available in this price range. ÂWhat I'm looking for is the ability to hear DX in the noise as clearly as possible rather than good music frequency response. ÂIf both are possible with the same headphones at low cost, I'd be thrilled, but I'd imagine that's like expecting to win the lottery!
Any suggestions anyone would have would be greatly appreciated!
