Re: [IRCA] From Chris Kadlec near Seoul, S. Korea-- DPRK Local-like

Hello Randy,

<<<ÂÂ I had to kind of chuckle when listening to the audio clip--the (presumably South Korean) jamming noise WAY in the background of Pyongyang-657 obviously isn't doing a whole lot of good in Seoul. ÂI'm guessing the jammer ain't anywhere near 1500kW!ÂÂ >>>

Yes, the jammers on both sides of the Korean border don't seem to be very well thought out. 657-Pyongyang is a common catch here on the west coast, but never with any jammer noise. On the other handÂSouth Korea's 1053-Jammer is one of theÂTop Ten strongest TP's on the west coast, but never with any North Korean signal under it. As for 657, the South's government must figure that the programming is so bad that nobodyÂin the South would choose to listen to it for more than 5 minutes (whichÂmost TP-DXers would certainly agree with).
