Thanks again to Richard and Craig for their TP-DX reports from so far inland-- and I always admire their determination to make such challenging Asian receptions so far from the west coast.
Â
Asian signals were fairly strong this morning hereÂin Puyallup,Âresulting a session which was better than the clunker results in Grayland on April 4th. At my 1300 start time the NHK big guns on 594,Â693 and 747 along with 972-HLCA and the 1053-Jammer were already managing very good peaks,Âwith the CRI stations on 1017, 1044 and 1323 at threshold levels in and out. Around 1315 a presumed 738-BEL2 (a regular here in Puyallup, but MIA during the recent Grayland trip)Âjoined the CRI stations with threshold audio, butÂunfortunately none of these became very strong throughout the session. 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB were the most energetic, although 747-JOIB would have been equally readable except for the Portland splatter. As Richard has reported the 1053-Jammer also had one of its best signals of the spring (peaking here at 1311), while 603 (apparently HLSA, with anemic pop music) managed some brief peaks at a fair level. Overall results were nothing like the April 1st session at Grayland, but it's best to be appreciative of the TP-DX that still shows up in April on a hot-rodded pocket radio about 2 hours from the ocean.
Â
73 and Good DX,
