Re: [IRCA] Salt Water-enhanced 3" FSL Tecsun PL-380 TP-DX for 4-1

Thanks for your comments, Nick. Of course, out on the Grayland beach without WiFi (or even cell phone service)Âthe RRI web stream isn'tÂa likely possibility :-)

Anyway, having remembered your recent logging of 1377-RRI I did spend a considerable time on that frequency trying to get some clues around 1345, including this extended 3-minute recording of the exotic music and female announcer (who certainly doesn't sound Japanese to me). The occasional male Chinese voice was confirmed to be // 6125, and as such is CNR1.ÂÂ

Anyway, Nick, you certainly should have stayed at Gabriola Island for at least one more day! Walt and I are in total agreement that it was one of the best Asian openings in quiteÂa while-- kind of like travel in a time tunnel back to November of 2009.

I'd feel more confident if you had heard one or two Filipinos as well

minutes of opening. Â The Grayland master log really only has Japan

I suspect you had the best morning of the opening there, at least for
Asians. Â NOAA is predicting fireworks soon, but for the time being,
there has been a slight carrier heard on 1215 here this evening.

Unfortunately, I missed it completely, as had an early appointment
back in town, and no time to set up the home listening station, so my
DXpedition is finished. Â Â The signal strength recorder at home
implied that outside of the big guns, such second-string channels as
603 891 1332 Â1314 1386 and 1422 had reasonable audio during the peak
period of 1325-1335UT

best wishes,

Nick
