Not so fast. The FCC's path over the past several decades has been one of
more, more more signals, ignoring the interference issue. Whether it was
putting the GY's up to 1000 watts at night, the breakdown of the clears,
the proliferation of added night operations, PSA's, PSRA's what have you.

While the only way we will achieve a reduction in the number of AM signals
is by means of economic factors, adding still more signals isn't going to
help anybody. Removing interference protections or greatly reducing them
will by definition increase interference, which decreases coverage and
audience.

That's not revitalization, it's just more of the same old failed ideas.
