[IRCA] TP 13 Feb Victoria version

A decidedly odd but rewarding morning...Japan morphing into Australia after 1400UT, becoming Philippines after 1500UT

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

702 2BL woman in DU English peaking to country music 1453UT. Not parallel to 612 or 855 at this time, but what else would it be but Saturday Night Country? A moment later //774.
774 JOUB woman in Japanese across 1400UT, no pips

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

1314 unID preaching in Tagalog? 1502-5UT; link to the webstream for previously logged El Shaddai was broken unfortunately 1512 DYAB lovely "DYAB ABS (CBN?)" ID by cheerful woman 1506UT (listened to by cheerful DXer), peaking with female choral music 1508UT, then faded to nothing.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1159UT, pips at 1200UT; not heard later
612 4QR man and woman in DU English 1459UT, faded down to ABC news fanfare 1500UT
774 3LO country mx //702 1454UT, moments before JOUB had dominated the channel
972 HLCA woman in Korean 1456-7UT
1116 4BC man in DU English 1517UT likely this one.
1377 unID. 1505UT male vocal , then man talking in SE Asian sounding language 1508UT, then female vocal. Have heard RRI Toli Toli on this channel before, so possibly that one, given the conditions. Scrambled for a webstream to no avail

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 man mumbling 1456UT, dead by 1500UT though.
792 man and woman talking 1505UT; if //576 it was severely offset.
828 JOBB pips and woman talking //747 1200UT; not heard particularly later
837 4RK woman talking 1350UT //612 but slightly delayed; mostly one was down when the other was up making ID'd hard work 855 4QO/4QB 1437 and 1449UT woman talking, //612 but delayed by a couple of seconds; really hard to make the connection 891 5AN man mumbling, then woman 1420UT; at 1430UT, ABC news fanfare heard to clinch it. 1215 two women mumbling, then a man 1459UT, continued across hour; perhaps DXFE given conditions? 1575 man mumbling 1458UT, nothing recognizable as VoA across the hour, though there was audio. Wonder if there is an active Filipino there again?

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

936 954 999 1026 1386 1566

best wishes,

Nick
