[IRCA] [Fwd: Re: [NRC-AM] 1500khz Mystery Station]

Glenn:

Yes, for some unknown reason it has gotten very confusing!

The best way to get a bearing with the quantum loop is to
find the "null" (minimum signal) because it is just a few
degrees wide! Can't get any easier then that. This
mystery station noise signal is too weak to deflect the
s-meter for a max or minimum!

The mystery station on 1500khz has a null about 170
degrees! And with your logic it will also be the maximum
signal, at 170 degrees! I don't know where this +/- 90
degrees is coming from! This station on 1500khz is east
of south from Joliet! And a DX'er in Michigan has the
bearing around 180 degrees. This tells me it's to the
south!

This is getting more and more confusing. Tom, do you mean
then that the maximum signal would be 90 degrees away from
170, i.e., 80 / 260 degrees, or do you mean that 170
degrees is the direxion of the maximum, not minimum
signal? I thought you previously found it to be southward
from you.

And Les`s latest at 240 degrees is WSW from him in Maylene
AL, not WNW.

I just checked 1500khz again this
 afternoon and as
mentioned yesterday the "null" (minimum signal) for the
noise is around 170 degrees.  The antenna is a Quantum
 QX
 Pro located in the attic.
