Re: [IRCA] 1530 VOA São Tomé into West Michigan t o night!

It seems to be a British Columbia thing Chuck (I know, the nerve...the Columbia River hasn't been British for many generations) . Before I started to be annoying, I'd never really realized that we often refer to the coasts here as "north" and "south". It's as if the rest of North and South America don't exist. "west" is reserved for outer Vancouver Island.

And of course, Masset is on the north coast of Haida Gwaii. Hence its charm for DXing. West just doesn't seem to enter into it, I'm sorry.

I'll go quietly now, officer.

Oops... Make that "can be called any other than the west coast".

Are you saying Walt's cabin is not on the west coast????

When writing to the IRCA list, I don't see how it can't be called the west coast.

Ah, but Haida Gwaii is off what is known as the
"north" coast in these parts Chuck. It
apparently makes a difference to the type of DX
that is heard, to be north rather than west.

And congratulations Tim.
