Patrick, I thought that way too long ago with both reel and cassette,
however my mind quickly changed when a couple of times the tape didn't
spool correctly and wound itself around the rollers. The only times I've
had problems with Total Recorder are when I've done something myself to
create them and the recordings didn't go off as planned.
It's true that you need to develop a system to keep yourself from deleting
files you want, whether it's backing them up immediately or creating a
pre-delete folder on the computer to hold things for a while, or simply not
emptying the trash folder of anything until you've checked to be sure
everything in it is intended for deletion.
