[IRCA] the little man who presses the overdrive switch on the transmitter
The little Japanese man who presses the overdrive switch on the NHK2
transmitters as they sign off was hard at work this morning. He
must be related to Santa Claus, as he seems to have the same power to
be in different locations at quite closely spaced time
intervals. First he was in Akita (774), then nipped off to Sapporo
(747), and finished off with a visit to Morioka (1386), all of which
came from nowhere (though 774 had been heard earlier). Osaka (828)
was perhaps a bit far away, though I haven't carefully listened to
the recording.
Now, he's put his feet up in Tokyo (594) having run out of NHK2
stations on the air. JOAK is thundering in at 1558UT, again
completely unheard earlier.
best wishes for Christmas,
Nick
