Re: [IRCA] Meet the 3" FSL Tecsun PL-380

David, Ira, and Walt,

Thanks for your comments on the 3" FSL PL-380!

Walt, I think that this radio has a better chance of getting through airport TSA checkpoints than a stand-alone FSL (which looks like a ring of dynamite). The FSL size is small, and they might actually believe you when you say that it is a radio antenna.

DXing performance does seem to be all that I could have hoped for. Sensitivity and nulling ability seem to be in a new league for portables, and I wish that you could try one of these outÂthere inÂHawaii. Fortunately, I have a huge stock of theÂ100mm x 20mm x 3mm ferrite bars (fromÂUkraine's Donbass region) already here in Puyallup, so there are no supply bottlenecks due to Putin's shenanigans.

Congratulations, Gary! ÂI'm very interested in seeing the results. ÂPerhaps
one will be able to fly with this, something I haven't been able to do with
the larger loops! ÂVery pertinent, as I sit enjoying the band in Kauai,
wishing that I had a better antenna! Â73, ÂWalt Salmaniw
