[IRCA] TP 13 Dec Victoria version
Although I'd love to be the contrarian and describe a stunning post
sunrise enhancement, starting with a logging of Farda on 1575, the
best that can actually be said is that it wasn't a total
washout. Close though, and definitely a fair description after
1400UT when the ionosphere clouded up for good.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
certainly a washout if one was expecting anything at this level
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1566 HLAZ. Let's push it again, as this was fading pretty
erratically, but strong enough to deliver audio from 1330UT to the
end of the Japanese program at 1345UT. Mostly Gregorian chant
sounds, and a woman in Japanese. The s/off announcement by woman
probably hit this level briefly on the peaks.
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
774 JOUB man in Japanese 1333UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
the above passing through
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
891 1386
best wishes,
Nick
