[IRCA] TP 4 Dec Victoria version

Just about to send this when I read Nigel's loggings. Talk about another planet, hi.

Basically things died after about 1400UT here. I had some recordings from earlier, and indeed there were some old standby stations, a couple at reasonable level.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

1566 HLAZ 3 and 1 pips at 1000UT, then man in Korean, peaking at 1001UT. This wasn't too bad at 1158UT either, but within a couple of hours of sunrise, forget it. Take it where you find it.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB quiet music //747 at 1159UT, pips on the hour, then peaking 1200UT with man and women talking excitedly in Japanese, then some English

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

747 JOIB man in Japanese 1158UT, leading up to pips on the hour. Also, theme music for Chinese lessons at 1359UT was pretty much the last gasp of this morning's DX.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

891 woman talking, Japanese inflection? 1335UT
1053 Korean jammer 1355UT
1575....really reaching here, man talking deep in the murk 1553UT, the sole excuse for sunrise DX

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

738 828 972

best wishes,

Nick
