TP conditions today were good but not spectacular. Some stations had
very good signals but others struggled to rise out of the mud. The
Koreans on 972, 1053, and 1566 probably produced their best reception so
far this season, as did VOA-1575. On the other hand, the Japanese were
about average today.
As is often the case here, each signal seemed to choose it's own time to
peak with no discernible pattern
GOOD
693 JOAB, Chinese lesson 1357
774 JOUB, nice signal with Korean lesson 1304, still good 1359 ending
the day's Chinese lesson, pips at ToH, then English lesson
890 KBBI, man with ID and weather forecast 1359, NPR news 1401,
alone after CJDC fadeout
972 HLCA, group of people talking 1333 sometimes stronger than 970
1053 jammer, huge signal 1347
1566 HLAZ, 1301 man in Japanese quite good, 1343 the usual end of the
day's Japanese program
1575 VOA, man in SE Asian language 1340
FAIR
594 JOAK, woman and man in Japanese, briefly surfacing 1335-1337,
otherwise poor or just a carrier today
747 JOIB, Chinese lesson 1356
750 KFQD, jingle ID & start of CBS news u/Portland 1300
828 JOBB, 1333 Chinese lesson //774
981 CNR1, Chinese talk & music 1308
1098 woman in Chinese-like language 1347, probably CNR11 in Tibetan
POOR
702 NHK2, 1325 weak talk //774 in KIRO splat
738 very faint talk 1302
864 weak music 1344
936 faint talk 1325
1134 weak male talk 1332
1242 faint talk & music 1353
