[IRCA] TPs in Seattle on 30 Sept



TP conditions today were good but not spectacular. Some stations had very good signals but others struggled to rise out of the mud. The Koreans on 972, 1053, and 1566 probably produced their best reception so far this season, as did VOA-1575. On the other hand, the Japanese were about average today.

As is often the case here, each signal seemed to choose it's own time to peak with no discernible pattern


GOOD

774 JOUB, nice signal with Korean lesson 1304, still good 1359 ending the day's Chinese lesson, pips at ToH, then English lesson 890 KBBI, man with ID and weather forecast 1359, NPR news 1401, alone after CJDC fadeout
972    HLCA, group of people talking 1333 sometimes stronger than 970
1053    jammer, huge signal 1347
1566 HLAZ, 1301 man in Japanese quite good, 1343 the usual end of the day's Japanese program
1575    VOA, man in SE Asian language 1340


FAIR
594 JOAK, woman and man in Japanese, briefly surfacing 1335-1337, otherwise poor or just a carrier today
747    JOIB, Chinese lesson 1356
750    KFQD, jingle ID & start of CBS news u/Portland 1300
828    JOBB, 1333 Chinese lesson //774
981    CNR1, Chinese talk & music 1308
1098    woman in Chinese-like language 1347, probably CNR11 in Tibetan


POOR
702    NHK2, 1325 weak talk //774 in KIRO splat
738    very faint talk 1302
864    weak music 1344
936    faint talk 1325

1242    faint talk & music 1353
1323    faint music to ToH 1400, then very faint CRI chimes
