Note quite the shock and awe storm of signals of a week ago - but still a
mighty fine performance
with some pleasant surprises -
Session started in full swing at around 1250 UTC with the dial lit up on
Nick's Fish Barrel -
audio likely on 40+ channels.
I settled into the groove with the following observations:
1301 -1575Khz VOA Thailand - News and talk in Vietnamese - typically 5 to 7
db below the level of 1566 Korea it
was holding its own this morning through the entire session.
1306 -1035Khz CNR (t) Assume the CC "pretty good" parallel to 7275 Khz -- a
darn fine signal but not a heck of a lot
of modulation.
1330 -828Khz JOBB Japan - huge signal with lessons - along with 774, 972,
1053 and 1566 the signal winners of the morning.
1335 -1323Khz NHK - assuming the JJ Talker here. Regular frequencies like
1242, 1287, 1386, etc were glowing at various times
but I was looking for new channels and odd activity -- so I pretty much
ignored the Tier 2 channels.
1338 -1044Khz CNR (t) once again, lots of signal not a lot of intelligence
- kind of felt // to 7275 but not always - as if this channel
was competing with someone else. This is a big frequency in Kona, Hawaii
when we are there and often seems to have programming
that varies from the SW feed.
1340 -954Khz Tokyo, Japan - driving pop music into YL patter - actually
louder than 972 Korea for a couple of minutes...
https://youtu.be/eFOu8EbaflA
1350 -963Khz China - I have seen mammoth signals from this channel in
seasons past - but not so much this time around -
CC Talk in the mud
1354 -909Khz UNID - lots of talk and some music - but racing around the
dial and did not stay for any intelligence.
1356 -891Khz Japan - huge signal with talk by Japanese dude.
https://youtu.be/GqS_j_4_fok
1357 -1242Khz Japan - YL in the clear with JJ Talk
1358 -774Khz Japan - absurdly huge signal with JJ lessons... and sirens!
https://youtu.be/lj5w9BAHUmU
1400 -1593Khz UNid (Nick said it was likely CNR) - in the clear with music
and talk in CC - louder than 1566 and 1575 at this moment.
Additional audio spots at fr. good levels: 558, 567, 594, 603, 639, 747,
846, 855, 864, 873, 918, 1008, 1017, 1098, 1143, etc
Receivers - Drake R8, 7030+, Icom R71A, Etc
Antennas - Wellbrook FLG100LN on W/NW Flag | Wellbrook ALA100 on a N/S 10
meter loop at 12'
