Thanks to Colin for his initial report, and I certainly can agree with him that Asian signals improved quite dramatically this morning. BothÂthe Japanese and Korean big guns reached good levels across the band, and there were a few unusual stations that showed up. For the first time this season the 1053-Jammer had an actual Asian signal to jam, and 1134-JOQR made a rare appearance.
Â
First check at 1250 revealed a group of Asians already sounding vibrant, including good signals in and out from 828-JOBB and 972-HLCA and very good signals from the 1053-Jammer and 1566-HLAZ. Sunrise enhancement brought the NHK big guns on 594, 693 andÂ747 up toÂgood levels, while the 1053-JammerÂreached a potent level indeed. Weaker signals on 603 (HLSA), 657, 738, 1044 and 1503 started coming out of the noise, while the Japanese stations hit their peak stride around 1330. About this time an Asian co-channel started fading in under the 1053-Jammer (apparentlyÂJOAR, judging by the speech and inflection), and a definite 1134-JOQR started rising above theÂVancouver splatter (rare here, since KBS usually dominates). 1287-JOHR also had some brief moments of good signals, although the frequency is a very bad one here with multiple station splatter. The high band didn't seem to share much in the Japanese bonanza, though, with only aÂweak 1503-JOUK and a good-level 1566-HLAZ during the daylight period. Overall it was a pretty interesting session for this point in the season, and I'll beÂeager to read Colin's delayed report.
