[IRCA] TP 5 Aug Victoria version

4th August delivered Tahiti on 738 at 1130UT at good strength, and that was pretty much it.

5th August in comparison was a madhouse for a few minutes between 1230 and 1240UT, with many carriers close to audio., suspect most were New Zealand.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

738 likely Tahiti with pop music

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

1548 likely 4QD man in DU English 1237UT
1575 VoA news mention by man at 1230UT, mostly barely readable however; heard as early as 1209UT, while others only really turned up closer to 1230UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

1161 man talking 1232UT, DU English?
1332 man talking 1236UT, didn't last long
1386 rhythmic vocal music 1234UT; Tarana?
1503 man talking 1236UT, DU English inflection
1584 unID man talking swiftly with bursts of music, a commercial? 1236UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

1008 1026 1035 1098 1107 1116 1125 1179 1215 1251 1278 1296 1314 1476 1494 1557 1593 1611

best wishes,

Nick
