[IRCA] TP 7 May Victoria version
For May, that was a pretty decent Asian morning. Some of the
carriers showed promise too.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
not quite...
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1053 Korean jammer jamming its little heart out 1204UT
1287 JOHR likely w/pop vocal mx 1053UT, when talk was heard (fairly
often this morning), it sounded Japanese, but not nearly as strong as this
1566 HLAZ man in unknown language 1055UT, if Chinese, was heavily
accented, or a dialect. Definitley Chinese after 1100UT. HLAZ
came back to this strength numerous times, including a nice ID at
beginning of Japanese program at 1230UT despite imminent local sunrise.
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
the above passing through
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
738 rhythmic pop mx 1142UT
774 man talking 1142UT, Japanese inflection
1242 man talking rapidly, likely JOLF? 1158UT, but faded by hour
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
891 909 1098 1116 1188 1197 1386 1422 1503 1548 1593
best wishes,
Nick
