[IRCA] TP 2 Apr Victoria version

Mostly more "normal" stations, with a few second string sneaking through the splatter. Not too much sunrise enhancement here. I think you could say most things peaked a little stronger than yesterday.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

774 JOUB woman in Japanese 1320UT, better on north Flag unusually
1566 HLAZ choral music 1320UT; "HLA-Zeto" ID noted at 1344UT end of Japanese program

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man talking excitedly, sports? 1254UT
747 JOIB man in Japanese, also slightly better on north Flag 1317UT
828 JOBB man in Japanes //747 1152UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1204UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

1287 JOHR slow female pop vocal 1456UT, best signal of the morning on this channel, an hour after local sunrise

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 JOIK man sounded like sports in Japanese 1146UT, no 594 at this time
693 JOAB man talking //774, heard only when CBU drew breath. I'll know the world has really changed when I start hearing splatter on the NHK2 language lessons from language lessons on CBC, hi.
873 JOGB woman then man talking //774 1305UT
891 JOHK pips snuck through 1300UT, sounded like Japanese sports announcer before the pips
954 JOKR? man and woman talking, Japanese inflection 1252UT
1206 woman talking, 1303UT, could be Korean? off-channel carrier so probably Yanbian
1242 JOLF? man talking 1456UT, pop mx, one hour after local sunrise
1377 unID, slow talking man 1326UT, north Flag, too much splash for language guess; anyone else hearing this?

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

837 864 945 981 1017 1098 1143 1161 1179 1269

best wishes,

Nick
