[IRCA] TP 26 Mar Victoria version

More Asian conditions yet today. Most of the action was in the 20 minutes before 1355UT, though NHK on the low band had pretty much disappeared by then, and not been great before. However, Korea on 558 was making an appearance then instead.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB man in JJ 1249UT
1386 NHK2 briefly at this level with language lessons 1346UT, no parallels available until 1350UT, when matched with 1593

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

558 HLQH deep voiced man 1346UT, ID'd with //to much weaker 603 at 1347UT
1503 JOUK woman and man in Japanese //594 which was considerably weaker, 1345UT
1566 HLAZ man in JJ 1337UT was about the best this could do; did hear CC sounding talk and choral mx at 1353UT after the Japanese program ended

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

594 JOAK man talking Japanese inflection 1337UT; ID'd // 1503 a few minutes later
603 HLSA deep voiced man 1347UT //558
738 rhythmic pop mx 1314UT
1116 man talking, DU English inflection 1212UT
1314 man and woman talking, weak, 1349UT
1377 deep voiced man talking slowly 1347UT; erratic fading
1575 VoA sounded like "VoA news" by man after VoA fanfare at 1231UT; this level of audio maintained for at least the next half hour, though little at 1300UT
1593 NHK2 man talking 1350UT //1386, assumed CC lessons

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 702 828 891 1278 1296 1422 1458 1512 1557; quite an oddball group

best wishes,

Nick
