[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-10

Hello All,

The low band Japanese were at exceptional strength here this morning, with 594-JOAK, 693-JOAB and 747-JOIB all reaching S9 levels at times from 1245-1400. The big star of the morning was 603-HLSA, though, with a monster run from 1358-1402Âproducing its strongest-ever signals here in Puyallup (over 7 years of TP-DXing).

At my 1245 start time both 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB were already at S9 levels, and 747-JOIB and 828-JOBB were not far behind. The extreme Japanese slant to the predawn propagation was very unusual, withÂthe Korean big guns on 972 and 1053 still down in the noise during theÂdarkness (and the Chinese stations completely missing in action, except for a fair signal in and out from 738-BEL2). Increasing daylight only seemed to boost up theÂJapanese big guns, with the best performer 594-JOAK hittingÂits peak strength (S9+) at 1326. Oddly enough there was hardly any signal from the 10 kW NHK1 signal on 531, though, and no Japanese were coming through on 558 or 585 either. Increasing daylight brought the Koreans onÂ657, 972 and 1053 up to fair levels only, while 603-HLSA was completely down in the noise until around 1355, when it reached a ghostly level along with its Chinese competition. Just when a very weak HLSA seemed ready to bail out for the session at 1357 itÂwent on a monster run, pounding in at an S9+ level to completely buryÂits Chinese co-channel from 1358 through the 1400 TOH right up until 1403. Around this time 738-BEL2 was strong enough to get past the KCBS splatter with fair signals, with the usual Chinese female giving the post-TOH news at 1405. Other than this all of the Chinese stations were missing in action this morning, except for very weak audio from the CRI stations on 1017 and 1044. The strength of the Japanese low band big guns this morning was highly unusual, with 693-JOAB managing its best signal ever here around 1312, and 594-JOAK equaling its best-everÂsignal around 1326. The best Asian signal of the morning was from 603-HLSA around 1400, though-- far andÂaway its best signal ever, here in Puyallup.
