Re: [IRCA] TP 20 Aug Victoria version
I thought there might be a list of abbreviation at ircaonline.org
(the IRCA's website), Gary, but it appeared to be, um,
offline. When it came back, I couldn't find any list of
abbreviations....does anyone know if there is one?
quick translation of the below.
unique to DXing groups:
DU = Down Under ....Australia, New Zealand, Pacific islands
EE = English
a search engine will help here:
ABC = Australian Broadcasting Corporation
NHK2 = second network of Japan's national broadcasting company
The "K" index....a measure of the sun's influence on the earth's
ionosphere, a whole other can of worms...
best wishes,
Nick
Does anyone have a source for a glossary of all the abbreviations
used in various emails? I am just starting to get active on the
list and can't decipher a lot of the information being presented.
