Hi Guy,
Thanks for your comments on the 531-PI demo video!
<<< I didn't realize you were now using one of your stock ICF-2010 receivers for DX
spotting, rather than the hotrodded one with multiple 7.5" Amidon ferrite
rods linked together. >>>
Actually my original hot-rodded ICF-2010 spotting receiver went on the blink just before last year's Rockwork 4 DXpedition in July, and although the plan was to hotrod another one for this trip, unfortunately I got distracted by the challenge of creating the 15" and 17" "Gain Monster" FSL antennas. Before the Cape Perpetua trip scheduled for next month (August 25-27) I may have the chance to design an build an updated ICF-2010 hotrod model. The stock ICF-2010 is barely acceptable as an SSB spotting receiver-- the new 15" FSL can produce strong audio on DU's that don't even manage a weak carrier on the Sony :-)
<<< With any luck I'll have a few sunrise sessions back at the Cape Perpetua
cliff near Yachats, Oregon in September, as my wife and I are planning a
return trip to the coast. I've left the Perseus SDR "fold" after 6-1/2
years, but have an Elad FDM-S2 now. >>>
Good luck at Cape Perpetua, Guy. You should have a nice mix of TP and DU-DX in September!

Hi Gary,
That's a wonderful demo video you made from the Rockworks cliff! I didn't
realize you were now using one of your stock ICF-2010 receivers for DX
spotting, rather than the hotrodded one with multiple 7.5" Amidon ferrite
rods linked together.
With any luck I'll have a few sunrise sessions back at the Cape Perpetua
cliff near Yachats, Oregon in September, as my wife and I are planning a
return trip to the coast. I've left the Perseus SDR "fold" after 6-1/2
years, but have an Elad FDM-S2 now.
