[IRCA] Mostly Mexican MW DX to Enid OK, March 28-April 3, 2014

All times and dates strictly UT. Rx: mostly DX-398 or PL-880 with internal antenna only; or Sony SRF-59 as specified; Nissan stock caradio as specified; FRG-7 with E-W longwire as specified

Last week my single post showed up more than once on some lists. I don`t know why, and I am not doing it!

** MEXICO [and non]. 540, March 31 at 0552 UT, dominant signal plays ranchera music from the WSW, and I already know what it is before the next frequent ID: ``La Ranchera de Paquimé``, i.e. XETX, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, near AZ & NM. Nulling it, I hear nothing but CBK, no sign of XEWA SLP despite alleged 150 vs 5 kW power difference per WRTH 2014; or is XETX only 1 kW at night as in IRCA Mexican log? Or 250 watts as in Cantú? I could believe WRTH about XETX but none of them about XEWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 550, April 3 at 0535 UT in rather auroral conditions, dominant signal is from WSW/ENE in Spanish kid choir, announcement and more music, religious-sounding. Surely XEPL Ciudad Cuahuhtémoc, Chihuahua, the only fit with no other Mexicans in the Northwest and no US SS in the Southwest. Might have been in Low German or an Indian language too (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 730, April 1 at 1305 UT, full ID from XEHB, Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Grupo Radiorama, not faded out quite yet. Mexistations are in FCC AM Query but I don`t usually look them up there. In this case, it shows since moving from 770, the official location is Rancho Primero, Chihuahua, and the approx. sunrise time for April is 1245 UT (but displayed in EST, why? As 7:45) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. Regarding the Mexican NA I heard on 1700 kHz, possibly new licensed station XEFCSM, 50/1 kW in Mérida, received this March 28:

``Estimado Sr. Hauser. He monitoreado la frecuencia de 1700 con mis receptores Radio Shack 12-472 (hasta 1700 kHz) y 20-125 (hasta 1710 kHz) a diversas horas y días y no encontrado señal alguna de cualquier emisora local en la ciudad de Mérida, Yucatán. Atte.: Ing. Civ. Israel González Ahumada, M.I.`` 

Nor have I heard any further signs of it, but it`s tough getting past the three US 1700 stations. Terry Krueger in FL hasn`t heard it either, but probably KKLF now Tejano (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1715, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
