I got home about 2340 EDT last night with the test already well in 
progress.  I started listening and recording, and quickly noticed a 
distinct peak near 1 kHz on the audio spectrum analyzer display from the 
code signal (I run the audio output of my R75 into my Linux PC for 
spectrum analysis and recording).  Hearing it was another matter, but I 
could tell it was Morse on a few occasions.  Going over my recording 
today, I was able to decode, with the aid of a little bandpass 
filtering, a few segments of code received at around 2352 and 2355: a 
couple of instances of the call letters, "1450", "Manchester", and 
"KY".  I was a bit puzzled when I was able to pull out what sounded like 
"CLAY" from one batch of code, but then I discovered that's the name of 
the county where WWXL is located. Very marginal reception, but enough to 
put it in the log as a new catch - at just a shade over 700 miles on a 
super-messy GY channel, a very welcome one indeed!
